Chapter 4

Third Person POV

As Can walked away from the three guys, he started to feel guilty. Maybe he had overreacted to Tin. But then again, he just had enough of his arrogant overbearing ways. His friend Ae could be friends with them if he wanted to but never Can. Can had many other friends from his own circle. Pete and Tin would always be outside his circle.

Can decided that he wasn't ready to go back home yet. Since he was fond of pets of all kinds, he went into the pet store that was in one of the departments of the mall.

He stopped to admire the brightly colored birds that lined one wall of the store. He liked to hear the different sounds of chirping from the birds. How he wished he had one of those cheerful birds. He was looking at the price tags and knew that he did not have enough money in his wallet to buy any of them. Maybe he could ask some money from his dad if he offered to do some errands for him.

Then Can went to the fish section. He was attracted right away to the rainbow colored fish that were moving about gracefully in one of the aquariums. He wondered whether his mom would allow him to keep a small aquarium in his room. He stood in front of the aquarium for a long time just gazing longingly at all the rainbow colored fish in it.

"I could get one for you if you like."

Can turned around quickly, clutching at his chest.

"Tin! Jesus Christ! Don't creep up on me like that again! Are you stalking me???"

"Maybe," said Tin with a smirk.

A shop attendant approached them with a rainbow colored fish swimming in a clear glass bowl that had small pebbles on the bottom and some sea plants on one side.

"Here is your purchase, sir," said the shop attendant handing the bowl to Tin.

"Thank you," said Tin, taking the bowl and then handing it to Can.

Can refused to take it.

"Tin," he said, "first of all, I can buy that fish myself if I wanted to. Second of all, I still have to ask my mom if she will allow me to have a small aquarium in my room. If I'm lucky she might allow me or she might not.allow it if she fears that I might knock it over and make a big mess in my room. I will have to wait and see."

"Okay," said Tin, "I will keep it with me until you tell me that it's all right to bring it home with you."

"Tell you what," Tin continued, "why don't you call your mom right now and ask her."

"Tin!" Can protested, "did you even hear me say that I was accepting that fish from you??? The trouble with you rich kids is that you always assume that people will do as you say! Goodbye!!! Don't you follow me again!!!"

And with that, Can quickly walked out of the shop, leaving Tin holding the fish bowl in his hand.

Tin looked down at the fish bowl he was holding and then looked at the receding figure of Can. He had a very hurt and disappointed look in his face.
