"What do we do Ev?"

"What do you mean?"

"We can't just stay here! They practically kidnapped us!"

Evelyn watched as Ivy paced back and forth across the floor. The girl sat on her comfortable bed, there being no indication whatsoever that she felt the same.

"It's not so bad," Evelyn shrugged. "They've been nice to us."

Ivy sighed, moving to sit next to Evelyn on the bed. "Ev, our parents don't know where we are. They're probably freaking out and trying to find us as we speak."

Evelyn snorted, giving her friend a look. "You and I both know my parents don't care one bit that I'm missing. I'm finally out of their lives, they're free to do anything they want now."

"I'm sure they care, Ev. You're their daughter."

The girl shook her head, getting up from the bed and walking toward the closet. "We need to get ready for dinner."

The two girls stood outside the doors that led into the dining room. They could hear Jasper and Miles talking inside, the two boys clearly waiting for them to arrive before getting started on their meals.

Evelyn gave Ivy one last look before pulling one of the doors open and walking inside. She turned to see if her friend was following her in but when she saw that she wasn't Ev turned and walked back out, quietly shutting the door behind her.

"Ivy, come on. I promise we're going to be okay with them."

"But how do you know?"

Evelyn shrugged. "I have a feeling. I mean, they're our mates."

"That's what they claim."

Ev laughed. "Since when have the tables turned? Normally I'm the one second-guessing everything and you're the one trying to calm me down."

Ivy joined her friend, the two girls laughing until their stomachs started to hurt.

"Look," Ev started. "I don't know any more than you do, but I think we should look at the positive side of things. There's two hot guys in there waiting for us with a bunch of delicious foods. How about we go in there, eat, and find out more about what this is."

Ivy nodded. "Okay, I think we can do that."

"Good, I'm starving," Evelyn laughed.

And with that, the two girls pulled open the doors and walked in together side by side, both secretly hoping they would finally get some real answers.

Dinner went by slower than expected. As the two girls weren't completely comfortable around their mates just yet, conversation was kept to a minimum and the only sound that could be heard throughout the room was silverware on plates.

"So," Jasper started, setting his fork and knife down. "I assume you two have some questions you'd like to ask us."

Evelyn and Ivy shared a quick look, nodding in agreement before turning back to face the Alpha and Beta who were respectively sat in front of the two.

"Why are we here?" Ivy asked, wrapping her arms around herself in a protective way.

"You're our mates. You're here so we can all be truly happy. We complete each other." Miles responded.

Evelyn nodded, accepting what Miles' response was. Thanks to Jasper, she already knew most of the details about what mates were.

Ivy still had a confused look on her face, which caused Miles to tell her that he'd explain in more detail a little later.

"What are we meant to do?" Evelyn asked, staring curiously at her own mate.

"What you normally do," Jasper said shrugging. "We don't have many rules for you, just a few that will be gone over later."

"So we can go to school?" Evelyn questioned.

Jasper laughed, sending his mate a smile. "Of course. We wouldn't dream of keeping you from your studies."

Evelyn and Ivy shared a look, before they both turned back with big smiles on their faces. The two clearly had no problem with that.

"Any more questions?" Jasper asked. Once both girls shook their heads no, the Alpha stood.

"Then I would like some alone time with my mate. Come on baby."

Evelyn blushed at the pet name, slowly scooting her chair back to stand. Jasper took her small hand into his large one and gently guided her out of the dining room.

"Where are we?" Evelyn whispered, running her hands along the books in the bookshelves that lined one of the walls.

"This is my room," Jasper responded. "Soon to be yours too once you're comfortable with it. For now I'll just have to live with you sleeping away from me."

Evelyn laughed, "Isn't my room just around the corner?"

"It's still too far," Jasper hummed. "I'd rather you sleep in my bed, right next to me."

Evelyn swallowed, her mouth suddenly becoming dry. "W-Well I'm not ready for that y-yet."

Jasper chuckled, noticing the distress his mate was in. "Come here little mate."

Evelyn took slow steps toward him until she was close enough that he could grab her and pull her into him.

The young girl sat on his lap, blushing profusely at the level of intimacy. She had never been this close to a boy before.

Jasper could hear his mates heartbeat rising and laughed a little. He moved her head so it was resting against his chest and he moved one of his hands up and down her thigh in an attempt to calm her down.

"Shh, my love, nothing to be afraid of," he whispered. Evelyn stifled a yawn, the slow rocking and moving of his hand on her thigh tiring her out.

Jasper smiled. "It's okay to sleep, my little mate. Nothing will ever happen to you as long as I'm around."

Evelyn nodded, cuddling herself further into the Alpha's chest. She didn't want to fall asleep, but she was so tired from all the previous events she just couldn't help it.

Soon enough Jasper heard the sweet, slow breaths of his mate. He knew she had fallen asleep and it made him feel good that she already felt comfortable enough with him to do so.

The Alpha moved both of them back toward the pillows, gently laying his mate down on what would soon be her side of the bed. He then walked over to his desk and began on some work that had been piling up over the past few days.
