Chapter 6
He could feel a pulsing headache go through his brain, the soft coo of the early morning birds sounding like bleating alarm that had been set to close to his ear.
Eve groaned, his hand reaching out to slap his alarm. The machine silenced, allowing Eve to relax beneath the covers that smelled like pine. He sighed happily, curling beneath the warm comforter.
Wait.
This comforter felt weird. It wasn't soft like his, it felt rather silky. He opened one eye, the bright rays of the sun causing him to squint.
"Ah!" he groaned, pulling the covers over his head.
A chuckle sounded through the room, "You're so weird in the morning," a deep voice said.
Eve froze. He recognized that voice. Deep and seductive, a voice that sent shivers down his spine. He turned slowly, peeking through the sheets. There he stood in all his half naked glory, with a pair of dark grey sweatpants hanging dangerously low on his hips, his happy trail disappearing into the sweats.
"Good morning," he said as he walked over, setting a glass of cold water and two white pills on the bedside table, "For the hangover."
Eve couldn't speak. Not even when Adam left, his mind completely empty from forming any coherent thoughts. Instead, he popped the pills into his mouth, washing away the bitter medication with the glass of water. He could feel the smell of greasy food waft into the room, the rich and heavy scent of bacon making his stomach flop inside his tummy.
With shaky legs he stood up, letting the spinning image of the room still before taking tentative steps towards the door.
It was then when he noticed his bare feet and the large white shirt that reached to his knees, the soft cloth of briefs touching his hairless skin. Gone were the feminine clothes, including the bra that had previously been stuffed with socks. He could feel his heart accelerate inside his chest.
Oh no, he thought, Adam definitely knew now and yet, he didn't seem to question it.
Bright colors caught his eye, the familiar clothes that he had used during the party, carefully folded up. He reached out for them, the scent of the perfume that he had used had been replaced by a clean fresh scent of recently washed laundry.
Just grab and go, he thought pulling the clothes close to his chest, You live next door anyways.
He bit his lip and tiptoed out of the bedroom, the front door of Adam's home visible. With light steps against the dark wood floor, he neared the exit, ready to run outside half naked.
"You know," a deep voice said behind him, making Eve freeze in his tracks, "I always cook breakfast. You're invited to come and eat. A little thank you for that lasagna you gave me the other day. Besides, in that state, a cop can write you up for public indecency." Eve deflated, the tight grip he had on his clothes loosening. Adam chuckled and patted his back, "Come on. Let's eat and we can talk about last night."
Adam guided him towards the kitchen. It was quaint, with modern appliances and a island table with a black granite counter, a few wooden stools lining the edge. Eve's eyes darted towards Adam, taking in his large form the seemed to fit comfortably in the kitchen. His torso no longer naked but covered by a black shirt, much to Eve's disappointment.
Wait, what?
He's interested in Evan, not Adam. Was it cheating by checking out another male? Eve could feel a quiet whine leave the back of his throat.
"So," Adam said, taking him out of his conflicting thoughts, "Are you a cross dresser?"
Eve blinked, watching Adam slide a plate of pancakes and greasy bacon in front of him. He felt his stomach churn, but he knew it was necessary to eat as much greasy food as possible to ease the throbbing hangover. He slipped a piece of bacon into his mouth, chewing it.
"I just wanted him to notice me," Eve whispered once he swallowed the pork meat.
Adam arched a brow as he chewed his pancakes. Eve glanced at his own plate, steadily cutting his pancakes into tiny pieces.
"He's straight as a ruler and he thinks I'm a girl," Eve explained as he began to tell him everything from the beginning. It seemed casual, almost like he was talking about what happened at school, and still, Adam listened without interruption.
"So what you're saying is," Adam said, taking a sip of his orange juice once Eve finished explaining himself, "You dressed up as a girl to impress a guy?" Eve flushed and nodded.
Adam grunted, shaking his head, tossing the filthy dish into the sink with a loud clatter.
Eve huffed, crossing his hairless legs, "Don't judge. Besides, I want you to tell me how the fudgecake I got here and why am I wearing these clothes?"
Adam smirked, the dimple in his cheek becoming visible, "Long story short; you got drunk, threw up, escaped a few cops and I changed you out of smelly vomit clothes."
Eve scrunched his nose, "You saw me naked?"
Adam's confident demeanor wavered a bit before composing himself, the seemingly trademark smirk planting itself firmly on his full lips, "We're boys. I know what you have, you know what I have."
Eve blushed furiously, the urge to cross legs overtaking his instincts, his hands pulling the white shirt past his knees.
Adam laughed, grabbing Eve's empty plate and setting in the sink, "Alright kid. So what do you want to do?"
Eve blinked, confused, "Eh?"
Adam rolled his eyes, "You know I'll be going to your school on Monday."
Fear locked Eve's muscles, "What?"
Adam sighed, pointing at himself, "Me. New kid. Your school. Monday."
The words slowly made sense in his mind as they formed into complete sentences. Adam was not only his new neighbor, but he was going to be a new student at his high school.
"You're not going to tell anyone what I told you, right?" Eve asked, his eyes wide.
Adam grinned, "Definitely not." Eve let out a breath he didn't know he was holding, "But," Adam began as he moved closer to Eve, the heat of his body reaching Eve's cold skin, "You're going to owe me a favor."
Eve swallowed, nodding slowly.
"Good. I'll be getting you a pair of pants so you can go home," Adam winked as he walked away, his large frame disappearing into the room.
Eve bit his lip. He couldn't help but feel that he just struck a deal with the devil.
