I walked along the sea,
With the wind blowing free,
Lost in my mundane thoughts,
This's what the tide told me.
"Why do you always think
About the days long gone?
Into sad regret sink,
About things said and done?
Why rue the sorrows past,
That into the winds melt?
Or long for joys to last,
The happiness you felt?
Everything is fleeting,
Like me, they come and go,
A moment for meeting,
Minutes to apart grow."
I watched the tide recede,
The waves in the seas swell,
Tough but right, I agreed,
Not in the past to dwell,
Nor of future worry,
Which would come at its time,
But enjoy our journey,
Glad days or sad climes.
