4. Metamorphosis
A green prickly grubby larva,
Biting shoots of a shrub;
Chewing leaves like a maniac,
Drives gardeners frantic and mad.
Endless seems its appetite,
Feeding frenzy that makes it scarf,
Green grass, shoots and even a twig,
Havoc it wrecks, in its eating path.
It devours, in passion and ennui,
Munching to attain size maximum,
Nimbly wraps itself in a cocoon,
Over time a change undergo.
Pulling apart its silken wrap,
Reveals its majestic splendour,
Sparkling in jeweled tones,
The wings takes to flight.
Wonderous is it to see it grow,
Young caterpillar to butterfly
