Parents: His father died during a freak accident when he was merely a baby, and his mother is a wealthy lady, though he isn't actually aware of this
Appearance: Leonard is a tall, very pale young fellow, with a skinny, thin, perhaps scrawny physique. His face is thin and pointed, with high, prominent cheekbones, and his eyes are a deep sea green. He has short, rather spiky, dark brown hair with a slight fringe which is parted to either side. He has a thin nose, average sized ears, and he is short sighted, so he wears purple rimmed glasses. Leonard tends to wear grey trousers, a white shirt, a black longcoat, and a woollen beige scarf round his neck
Personality: Leonard is a shy, nervous, neurotic fellow, and he's socially anxious, always twitchy and anxious in crowds or during social situations. Due to his upbringing, he doesn't have much confidence within himself, and he's often apologetic, though he is able to, sometimes, defend himself and his beliefs. Like his deceased father, Leonard is observant, intelligent, analytical, and observant, and he relies heavily upon his wit and smarts rather than his near nonexistent physical strength. Leonard can be rather skeptical regarding certain things, and as he's extremely keen on literature and language, mistakes within books and text can really aggravate him. He's quite a jumpy fellow, and is prone to fits of anxiety, which is labelled as hysteria. Because of his reserved nature, he doesn't have many friends, but those few he creates, he likes to keep them close, because he appreciates true friendship 
Skills: He's intelligent, observant and analytical. He's a fast runner, and very agile. He is skilled at problem solving, and loves strategical games. He's very good at sketching, painting, writing, and writing poetry. He's also good at sewing, which has other boys calling him a sissy, but he thinks that knowing how to sew is important. He also is very skilled at drawing, and does it as a hobby
Flaws: He lacks physical strength, and isn't good at hand to hand combat or anything. His panic attacks don't do him any favours, and the doctors in London have labelled him as hysterical, which has dramatically depleted his confidence. He suffers from general bad health due to poverty, and is prone to contracting cold and mild illnesses. Also, he doesn't know how to swim well
Backstory: His father, Mr Bast, was married to a lady, who is still known as Mrs Bast, and both were very poor. When his father met a wealthy lady, he lost his job when the wealthy lady's sister's husband told Mr Bast to leave his job as a bank clerk, because the bank would soon go into liquidation. The bank didn't go into liquidation, and Mr Bast blamed the wealthy lady, her sister, and the sister's husband for his great misfortune, for he now had no job at all. After a long while, Mr Bast visited the wealthy lady, and the two secretly had sex. The next events are hazy, but Mr Bast was then killed in a freak accident, after being attacked, when a bookshelf fell upon him. The death was put down as being caused by a heart attack due to Mr Bast being in the last stages of heart disease. After all this occurred, the wealthy lady gave birth to a boy, Mr Bast's and her son. The lady named the child after his father, Leonard Bast. Leonard was given to his father's proper wife, who took care of him, though he was risen in poverty. Leonard managed to receive a good education however, though he constantly suffered bad health 
Other: Nowadays, Leonard would be diagnosed with autism, and he has respiratory sinus arrhythmia, which is a benign heartbeat variation
