FOURTEEN - 십사

I sigh, falling onto Jeongguk's bed. Work was hectic. Mother didn't exactly leave after ambushing me in my office. Instead she stayed till after the meeting with GreenCo, only to give me another piece of her mind. Apparently I was too closed-minded in rejecting GreenCo's offer.

The rest of the meetings that followed, I didn't do much talking. Allowing Taehyung to take leadership. He seemed much more relaxed and I could see that he really had been prepared for his role. He seemed comfortable and I was proud of him.

Yejin and Namjoon popped in around lunch time to take me for a quick dress fitting. With the wedding only a week away, the two have been very busy planning. Mother tagged along, her presence causing me to sigh because it seemed as if I could never escape her negative energy. The trip to the boutique was the worst. Even Namjoon pulled me aside to ask why there was tension.

"That dress suits you. I think we can just make the wais-" The assistant starts, pulling at the waistline.

"You don't have the breasts for such a dress, Soa. Maybe we should add straps?" Mother voices, standing as if she's thinking.

Yejin is quick to reject the offer. Passing Mother a polite smile as she passes me compliments. "I think you look great. Your boobs are looking pretty cute too."

We left the boutique right after that. Mother didn't bother riding with us, phoning her driver to pick her up at wedding boutique. I gave her a hug goodbye, aware that cameras could be watching us from anywhere. The last thing we need is everyone to find out that there's tension in our family.

That's the part I hate about growing up in our world. We never lacked anything. Not toys, money, food. If anything, all of us, including our parents have been spoilt, but to be under the constant spotlight and having to act as if nothing bothers me is hard. That's why they go around saying I'm stone cold. It's because whenever I'm unhappy I just put on a blank expression. I'd rather be neutral than fake a smile.

"Knock knock." Mrs Jeon says, entering the room. She's dressed in comfortable clothes, but still fashionable enough to get her shot taken by the paparazzi. "Jeongguk won't be home for another two hours and you look really bored. If you want, I can ask Martha to accompany you to the mall or would you like to watch a movie?"

I smile at her. "No thank you, Mrs Jeon. Jimin is coming to keep me company."

She makes a face of surprise at the mention of Jimin, but doesn't ask any follow up questions. Only mentioning that her and Mr Jeon will he stepping out for the evening, so I should let Martha know if I'll be having supper here or not. I thank her politely.

Jimin comes a half and hour later, blowing my phone up with messages as if the sound of his car wasn't enough of an alert. I meet him at the door, eyes taking in the very low buttoned shirt he has on. My eyebrows shoot up in question. "What the hell are you wearing?"

Jimin brushes me off, walking into the mansion as if he owns the place. The staff pass him greetings, offering to get him appetizers. I roll my eyes as he flirtatiously thanks them.

"Okay, get moving. We've got limited time." I say, pushing him up the stairs and toward Jeongguk's room.

"Miss Kim," One of the staff call, halting me in my steps. Jimin almost falls in the process.
"Mrs Jeon said not to enter Jeongguk's room without him present."

Jimin laughs behind me. "You can't be serious." I pull a face, immediately catching on to what he's thinking. My hands pull away from him as if he's a hot stove.

"It's not what you're thinking. Jimin and I have a meeting-"

"Whatever you need to discuss can wait until Jeongguk arrives or you could follow me into the dining room." The girl speaks. A stern expression on her face. I pull my eyebrows up in shock at her attitude, but follow her nonetheless. There's no way we can discuss in front of Jeongguk.

All the way to the dining hall Jimin talks about how obedient all the staff in the Jeon Mansion are. Concluding that they must have dreamt of being Jeongguk's girlfriends at one point of their lives. According to him, none of them like me.

"They even call him by his name," Jimin muses, "Does your staff do that? Mine call me Daddy." He nudges me, winking while I pull a face at his disgusting joke. It's probably not a joke, knowing him and hiw often he gets around.

The staff, who's named, Sara, leaves us to it once we reach the dining room. Her final instruction being that the door remains open at all times. I scoff at her, closing it in her face. If she wants complain to Jeongguk, she can.

"Soa, I don't know what shit you're trying to stir up, but I don't advise it." Jimin says once we're alone. A reaction I expected because he's been saying that all day over text.

"Just let me see what you did." I say pointing at his briefcase.

"If Jeongguk finds out about this-"

"Who's going to tell him? This stays between me and you." I answer, pulling his briefcase into my hands. It's times like right now where knowing each others passwords come in handy. The case opens as soon as I type the last number of Jimins birthday.

The documents I want are the first thing I see. Neatly typed out and accompanied by the logo of Kim Group, the bold title reading 'Kim Group Agreement And Declaration Form.' I smile at how legit it looks with both Taehyung and my signature printed onto the form underneath the many different terms.

Jimin wasn't very happy when I asked him to help me. I know it's wrong to ask a friend for help with illegally covering Taehyung and I incase of the company finding out about my illegal signature being placed on the CEO agreement. In the moment, I couldn't think of anyone else. Namjoon and Jeongguk are pretty much the same when it comes to morals. I wouldn't consider myself immoral, but sometimes I could make black and white a nice shade of grey. The only other person who can do that aswell as me is Jimin.

"I can't believe you pulled me into this." Jimin sighs, fanning himself with the loose shirt he wears. The action only seems dramatic to me. "What if your father finds out? Or my father?"

It's not everyday I see Park Jimin stressed out over the rubbish he gets himself into. I assume it's because none of it can get him into jail.

"I'll take full blame for it. Just don't tell Jeongguk-"

"Don't tell Jeongguk what?" I freeze, staring at Jimin in shock as Jeongguk fully steps into the dining room. A part of me thinks Sara must've been the one to send him straight her. Judging from his attire he just arrived home. It's not even been two full hours yet.

Jimin grabs his briefcase and seals it like the expert he is. Running a ring clad hand into his hair. Jeongguk's eyes bounce between the two of us and I'm sure it's because of the still unbuttoned shirt.

"Soa, babe, what's going on?"

"N-nothing, baby. Jimin and I were just chatting." I answer, walking closer to him. My hands brushing through his strads of hair. He gives me a look, one that shows he's still awfully suspicious of whatever it is Jimin and I are doing.

"Yeah, I'm about to leave anyway. Tae and I are going out for drinks."

"So why are you here? Sara says you wanted to meet in my room. Why?" Jeongguk asks Jimin, eyes looking over my head. His tone of voice sending waves of nerves throughout me. If there's one thing Jeongguk doesn't like, it's me and Jimin together without him or Taehyung around.

"He came to keep me company." I say, tugging at his hand. His attention focuses on me. His expression is stern and looking at him I know he's not happy. There's some jealousy swimming in his brown eyes.

"Dude, we were just looking at rings for your wedding." Jimin says, sighing as if he's telling the truth. His quick lie almost makes me choke. His expression looking like he just let out the biggest secret.

At first, I don't expect Jeongguk to believe him. He should know Jimin well enough to know that he's lying, but the sheepish look he gives the both of us. Pink hues hitting his cheeks.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I'll just leave." He scratches the back of his neck, wanting to leave. My hands on his suit keep him in check.

"I've got to go now, Soa. Just text me your designs." Jimin says.

I nod, "Sure, email me the ones you think would fit."
