FIFTEEN - 십오
I huff as I slip into the silk dress. My breath getting caught as Mother proceeds to zip it up, not giving me time to prepare myself for how tight it really is. Her satisfied hum fills the air as she observes me through the mirror.
"Is this really necessary?" I ask, pulling a face as she starts prodding at my chest, creating the illusion of more cleavage. "It doesn't look very appropriate for a formal dinner." I conclude, letting out a shriek when her hands start pinching at my cheeks.
"You'll wear a coat." She finishes, tucking stray hairs behind my ears. Her hands do a final run through the very sleek looking hair. Straightened to perfection and shining as if I'd poured a bottle of oil over it. "You need to look the part, Soa. Need I remind you that both your sisters are beautiful women?"
I roll my eyes at her question. Having heard it a hundred times today only. The only time she ever cares about what I wear is when Fei is in town.
Kim Fei, the beautiful, elegant and absolutely fashionable wife of Seokjin. Daughter of the biggest conglomerate CEO in China, Xiao Jul. Ever since marrying into our family, or rather Soekjin marrying into theirs, Mother has become obsessed with comparing my looks to that of Fei. From her classic red lip to her perfectly winged eyeliner down to her always short and sparkling dresses. She's a girly girl after Mother's own heart.
Of course the other sister would be Yejin. Also very beautiful with fair skin, bright eyes and a timid nature that could melt any heart.
"I don't understand why we always do this when Jin is around. He's only here for the wedding anyway." I reply, wincing as she harshly rubs at my skin with toner.
"Just stay quiet, Soa." Mother says, as she starts applying layers of foundation. Lightly patting at my face like I'm some doll. It reminds me of when I was younger and needed her to do my hair for school. Back then she was a lot more loving.
Seokjin had emailed everyone his flight details today. The first to read the email had been Namjoon, excitedly running to inform Taehyung and I of our brothers early arrival. Since then preparations had been made to have dinner at Prisca, one of the grandest restaurants in Seoul. Mother had ordered dresses and suits for all of us because we had to "look the part."
Namjoon picked them up at the airport and escorted them to their hotel as arranged by Mother. Since he's been married, Seokjin hasn't slept in our home. Taehyung says it's because Fei and Mother don't have a good relationship. I wonder if it'll be the same when Namjoon and I leave the nest.
I was ordered leave work with Taehyung. Mother arranged for my things to be fetched from the Jeon Mansion. The quickly arranged departure earned me a series of texts from Jeongguk.
From Jeongguk
14:22 : Mom said you had your staff fetch
your bags. Why?
14:28 : Did something happen at home?
14:38 : Babe, did I do something?
To Jeongguk
Seokjin is in Seoul. We're having dinner at Prisca, don't be late. <3
I sigh as Mother starts applying eyeliner. Knowing her heavy hand, it's going to he very different from the usual natural look I go for. Atleast I know it'll look good. She's a qualified beautician and sometimes I think she wishes she had more daughters to play dress up with.
A soft knock, along with big eyes come at the door. Jeongguk awkwardly moves into the room once he sees Mother. Passing her a very polite smile which she accepts and starts complimenting him on his outfit choice. An all black ensemble that sits very tightly, along with golden accessories that match the dress I wear.
"Taehyung told me you'd be in here." Jeongguk says, taking a seat on my bed. My eyes watch his movements through the mirror, smiling as I notice his hair, sleeked back with gel. It's not often that his full forehead is on display.
"You look handsome." I muse, not caring that Mother is very likely to listen in on our conversation. Jeongguk passes me a wink, too shy to say anything while Mother is listening.
She continues to pat at my face, standing back every few minutes to admire her work.
"Okay, that's good enough." She smiles, admiring her work. With a pleased smile and a snile toward Jeongguk she leaves the room. "No messing up your lipstick!" Her voice resonates, eyes winking at Jeongguk.
I glance at the mirror, looking at myself in shock. It's not ugly and it looks different. Maybe Mother is hoping to attract paparazzi with this look. It's not everyday that my whole body is exposed and my styling being done this extremely.
"Baby, isn't this too much?" I ask, slightly dabbing at my shimmery eye makeup.
Jeongguk stands up, taking huge strides toward me. My eyes roam is body, admiring the suit he's wearing. Unlike the ones he wears to work, this one is tighter around all the places that matter. It really compliments his build.
He's in front of me. Crouching down as he stares at my face. His eyes make me feel nervous as they examine Mothers work.
"You look beautiful," He says, eyes lingering on my lips.
I smile, pulling him in. My lips meet his own, not caring for Mother and her request. He feels soft and familiar as he kisses back. Hands trail my bare legs, eliciting a light moan out of me. Jeongguk smiles into the kiss, allowing his hand to travel further up, only stopping at the hem of the dress.
With his tongue latching onto mine, neither of us hear the knocking at the door. My hand pulling Jeongguk even closer. The sound of heavy breathing fills the air, along with the sound of Taehyung's voice through the wood.
"We're about to leave." He yells, knocking again. Kudos to him for knowing the two of us so well. If there's one person who doesn't walk in on Jeongguk and I, it's Taehyung.
I pull away, pecking him on the cheek. His swollen lips covered in the lipstick Mother so carefully put on.
"We're coming" I yell, using a wet wipe on Jeongguk's now red tinted lips.

As expected Seokjin is happy to see us all as we enter the private room. His eyes light up at the sight of me and Jeongguk. With his arms wrapping around the both of us, as he places wet mouthed kisses on the both of us. Jeongguk pulls away first, his hand wiping at the area as soon as he's free. Soekjin chuckles at his behaviour.
"Soa, sis, you look beautiful. I almost didn't recognize you." He laughs as I push him away. My eyes rake over his face, looking for any sign of him aging. Seokjin just always appears the same whenever he visits. The only difference is his hair.
"And you're still a vampire." I muse, earning an eye roll from him. One that makes me smile because he's not mad at all. Taehyung and I always tease him about it.
Seokjin goes around greeting everyone else. His loud voice fills the room with warmth. It's almost as if we're all a happy family.
I make my way to Fei, eyes going wide at the sight of the bundle in her arms. She waves back, not trying to wake the baby with her movements. My eyes focus in on the beautiful baby. With chubby cheeks and thick black eyebrows he definitely got from his father.
"He's so cute." I coo, rubbing at his cheek with a finger.
"He looks more like you lot than me." She laughs while I pull her into a half hug. My eyes not leaving the sleeping child. The last time I saw him, he was just born. Taehyung and I took the trip to China and surprised both Jin and Fei.
Mother and Father greet Fei, both of them also start fawning over the baby while I make my way to sit inbetween Taehyung and Jeongguk. The latter immediately places his hand on my thigh. The action causes me to squirm, not used to him being all touchy feely in the presence of family.
While we all eat, I notice that Fei doesn't speak much. Most of her attention is on baby Shaun. Her voice can only be heard when any of us coo at his actions. Fully awake, he's the center of attention beside his father.
Seokjin talks freely with the rest of us, mostly talking to Mother and Father about business things. Taehyung sighs at the topic and downs a glasses of wine like it's water.
He hasn't said a word to myself or Jeongguk all evening. Only talking to Namjoon whenever the elder is not having quiet conversation with his fiance. The only time he spoke to me was to say :"You look nice. Better not lose your v card tonight."
"You okay?" I ask, tapping his arm.
Taehyung faces me, a look of surprise etching onto his features, but it quickly dissappears. "We should've invited Jimin. You're all coupled up. I feel a bit left out."
I frown, knowing that the feeling would eventually settle in. I expected it to show up closer to my wedding, but even now it's understandable.
"You can invite him to the club afterward." I reply, feeling sorry that he feels that way.
-
"Hot." Is the first thing Jimin says when he sees me. Pulling away from his very tight hug with his eyes trailing over my body. Taehyung had invited him to meet us at Love Maze, his favourite hang out spot. I snap him out his trance with a drink being shoved into his empty hands.
"Stop staring." I answer, giving his arm a push.
He takes a sip from his drink. The both of us stand at the balcony, overlooking the party scene below. Entering wasn't a problem. There were a few brave guys and girls who tried to talk to us, but they quickly gave up at the sight of Fei and Yejin.
"You look hot." He shrugs, taking another sip of his drink. "If I was your boyfriend, you wouldn't be standing here looking all pretty."
He says, laughing when I make light gag noises at his insinuation.
"That's my cue."
Jeongguk and Taehyung are sat deep in a discussion with Namjoon on his wedding week location. It's not the most suitable conversation for a club, but I guess it's important. We're all going to be going there, so might aswell talk about it.
"I was thinking camping." He says, receiving groans and chuckles from the rest of us. "It's a great opportunity to do team building activities-" He defends. The last thing we care about is building a healthy team of wedding bridesmaids and groomsmen.
"It's just for a week. We're not trying to become best friends." Jin laughs, wrapping an arm around Fei. I smile at the cute gesture, liking how close they've become since their very awkward wedding.
Namjoon rolls his eyes, further explaining how it'll be good relaxation for all of us. A chance to get out of the spotlight for once. It's definitely something we need. A week with no eyes or faking would do all of us good.
"Haven't we been on enough camping trips as kids, Joon?" Taehyung sighs, throwing his head back onto the sofa. Growing up he was never a fan of nature. Jin and I would often plant bugs in his tent. Of course, I never touched the bugs, just assisted in making sure Taehyung was never around to see it until nighttime.
"This camping trip is going to be different."
