CHAPTER TWO.
"The Big Adventure"
[ The Fray Residence ]

"It's not like i'm headed on some big adventure." Asher heard Clary say as he and Simon walked the stairs to Clary and Jocelyn's apartment

"But you are" Simon shouted when he and Asher entreated the kitchen. "See we are going to Lombardi's to celebrate your birthday after our gig" Simon said poking clary in the side making her giggle.

"You should come back here after." Jocelyn suggested. "The city's not safe right now."

"Ah, thanks, mom, mom, but we're set." Clary politely declined her mother's offer.

"Yeah but we will take a rain check." Asher said taking a sip of the glass of water he had gotten himself.

"Wait. Do I smell chicken cacciatore?" Simon asked walking back into the kitchen.

"Simon, your gig" Clary reminded him.

"Oh, you're singing?" Luke asked.

"Yes, big gig" Simon responded.

"And by big he means not so." Asher said making luke chuckle.

Jocelyn then brought clary into a bone crushing hug. "Losing circulation here," clay said into the hug.

"Breakfast you an me tomorrow promise?" Jocelyn asked Clary.

While clary and her mom talked luke looked at both the boys bringing to fingers to his eyes and then pointed them at the boys. Simon did it back touching his nose as well.

Clary turned to Simon now out of her mother's embrace. "Shall we?" She asked Simon who nodded clary then jumping on his back. "Come on Asher" Clary called back to where he stood with Jocelyn and luke.

"I'll meet you in the van" Asher shouted back luke having told him that he and Jocelyn needed to talk to him about something important. Clary just shouted back a kay
and left with Simon.

"Asher" Jocelyn said the boys name which made him look in her eyes. "I need you to protect clary. The memory erasing in wearing off and I fear what's to come." Jocelyn said. "I need you to stick by her side and make sure she's safe"

"Jocelyn clary is like the sister I never had, I will protect clary with my life" Asher said.

"Thank you" Jocelyn said hugging the boy. "You can go, Clary and Simon must be waiting for you." Asher nodded at both adults in respect and made his way outside where Clary and Simon sat waiting for him.
