CHAPTER THREE
WHEN YOU'RE MOONSTRUCK
"you ain't nothing but a lost cause"
˚✧₊*⁎⁺˳✧༚

After yesterdays. . . occurrences, Shivani had decided that she had to speak with Stiles. He had seen some stuff that was even harder to explain than what had happened in the janitors closet, and he didn't give her the impression that he was going to drop it any time soon. Gosh that spastic, nosy guy was getting on her nerves.

Shivani figured the best way to corner the Stilisnki boy would be some time a school. She just needed to get him by himself, something that actually was very hard. Either he was with his best friend, Scott, or he was following Allison and Lydia around like a lost puppy. Rarely did he do anything without any of them, actually. It was kind of weird. Shivani didn't think too much of it, though. She figured he preffered to 'pack' up with his friends rather than rolling solo.

Her focus was now on the huge wall infront of her. All the students in PE had to climb it. Mr. Bobby Finstock thought it was a nice activity for gym class. Not that Shivani had a fear of height or anything, but she was silently praying that something would happen so that she didn't have to climb the wall. It wasn't exactly ideal for her to risk somehow touching something wet while climbing and switching her legs for a tail several feet over ground. It would attract maybe a little too much attention than she'd like. That, and she didn't feel like being the science experience in the next class.

Speaking of which, her and Stiles didn't really get anywhere with the science project for Mr. Harris' class. You know, with her being all crazy coo-coo in the head because of the fullmoon. The worst part of being moonstruck was definitely the amnesia. You see, when you're moonstruck, you don't remember anything that happened while you were. There had been several incidents where Shivani had woken up the next morning in the woods or some other completely random place with no recollection of where she had been or what she had been doing.

"Next up, Stilinski and. . . Caddel!" Coach yells out. Shivani groaned internally as she trudged reluctantly over to the wall. When both students were secured and ready to go, they both started climbing hastily.

"Stiles, I think we need to talk about yesterday." Shivani said, halfway focused on her climbing.

"Yeah, great idea. How about you start explaining how the hell you just froze that water. What are you a witch?" Stiles blurted. Shivani looked taken aback by his words. I've really done it now.

"Not here." Shivani shushed. "Can you meet me by by car or something after school or whatever?"

Stiles nodded hesitantly. He needed answers, especially after yesterday had confirmed his suspicions; she was supernatural. He just had to figure out what type of supernatural creature she was and how she could either help them or be defeated by them. A million different scenarios had gone through his head. Right now he was sticking with his "she's an evil ice witch come to destroy us all" theory.

Simultaneously the two kicked of the wall, safely landing ontop of the matress. "I'll meet you there."

Next up was some guy and this girl Shivani had no idea who was. But that would be around ninety percent of the students here. She only really knew Lydia and Allison from the bleachers, and Stiles. Oh, and this Scott guy who really sucked at lacrosse. At least from what Shivani had seen. Plus this one girl in History that Shivani got introduced to. She didn't really remember her name, but she did recognize her face.

The two started climbing soon after. The girl shakily made her way up the wall. A little too shakily if you asked Shivani. She narrowed her eyes at the girls, brow furrowed. She could almost feel how nervous and scared the girl was. "Eh, Coach you sure she's okay?" Shivani asked.

"Erica. Dizzy? Is it vertigo?" Coach asked, taking Shivani's worry into account. Lydia rolled her eyes at him.

"Vertigo's a dysfunction of the vestibular system of the inner ear. She's just freaking out." She corrected with a judgmental tone. Shivani wasn't quite sure how she felt about the Martin girl. She seemed sweet, to a certain degree, but she had absolutely no sensitivity for other people's feelings and honestly, could be kind of a bitch. But then again, Shivani hadn't know her long enough to tell, so she kept her opinions to herself.

"Yeah, pretty sure that more than just freaking out." Shivani argued, pointing at the trembling girl who was beginning to hyperventilate.

"Erica?" Coach tried calling her name again.

"I'm fine." The girl hastily replied.

Allison, agreeing with Shivani, stepped over to Coach. "Coach, maybe it's not safe. You know she's epileptic."

The look on his face was priceless. "Why doesn't anybody tell me this stuff? I have to get- Erica, you're fine. Just- Just kick off from the wall. There's a mat to catch you. Come on." Slowly the girl kicked of the wall, sliding down to let the mat catch her. "See, you're fine. You're on the ground. You're all right. Let's go. Shake it off. You're fine." Finstock tried reassuring. It seemed more directed towards himself. The messy haired blonde took of running with tears brimming in her eyes, pushing past the students snickering at her.

Shivani considered for a moment to go after the girl before going for it. She jogged after her, flipping off the crowd of teens making fun of her. The Caddel girl usually defaulted to silence when people where making fun of her, but she was not about to stand by while people laughed at something like this. It simply wasn't okay.

The sound of sobbing echoed through the girls locker room. Following the sound, Shivani halted infront the blonde. She was curled up against a blue locker, head between her knees as she rocked back and forth. "Hi, erh, are you okay?" What a stupid question, of course she isn't Shivani.

"Yeah, I'm fine, whatever, just leave me alone." Erica mumbled in response, depserately trying to wipe her tears with the sleeves of her sweater. Shivani frowned deeply.

"Those kids out there are just a bunch of losers who's only personality trait is to pick on others, alright? Forget about them. They all peak in high school anyways." Shivani said, sitting down next to the girl. She repeated the words her mother would tell her whenever someone had her doubting herself. They were stupid, maybe even a bit cliche, but they helped.

"Oh yeah? When do I 'peak' then? Cause' crying in PE isn't exactly peaking." Erica snapped back. Shivani chuckled.

"You'll get there, eventually. You are the best when you feel the best. And my guess is that you're not feeling to jiggy at the moment."

     "You've got that one right."

"Look, I could sit here and tell you everything gets better or whatever, but instead I'm going to be honest with you. Nothings gonna change unless you change it. You think you won't be able to climb that wall, then you won't. It sounds stupid I know, but if you try mastering whatever's holding you back, you'll get where you wanna be." Shivani almost cringed at the sound of herself. She sounded like some motivational speaker who had no clue what they were talking about. Her grandmother had told her this. And frankly, from her experience, it was true. Her biggest threat was herself. Both her mother and grandmother had helped her realize this.

Soon enough Erica was all cleaned up, with the help of Shivani, and the other girls of the class started piling in as well. Shivani headed to change clothes herself, momentarily leaving Erica behind. The two figured they could walk to class together, seeing as they were going the same way. Shivani decided the blonde needed a friend. Branching out to her couldn't possibly backfire, right?

After the girl had swapped her gym clothes for her outfit of the day, she heard chatter brewing amongst the girls. Something about Erica, and the wall. She rolled her eyes, about to go off on the girls standing next to her when something caught her attention. They weren't speaking in past tense.

The girl broke out of the locker room and into the gymnasium. Shivani gasped loudly when she witnessed Erica falling from the very top of the wall and towards the ground. This time with no mat to catch her. She threw her hand up, preparing to use her powers some how to save her fall, but before she could. Scott slid across the floor, catching her in his arms.

Allison brushed past a gaping Shivani. "Put her on the side." She ordered loudly, helping her flip the seizing girl over. "How'd you know." She looked over at her boyfriend in confusion.

     "I just felt it."

After the chaotic incident with Erica, and a whole lot of boring classes, the bell announced that the school day was over. Shivani beamed as she shoved her AP history textbook into her bag, practically skipping across the crowded hallway and to her locker. There was no particular reason for her mood, other then the fact that school was over for the day. Gee did she hate school.

She swapped some books she needed for homework into her bag, throwing some textbooks she didn't need back into the locker. Shivani hadn't exactly decorated her locker yet, not that it was any priority of hers really. It appeared to be an tradition at some high schools to do so. Sure, she wouldn't mind hanging up pictures of her favorite bands or something in there, but other than that there wasn't much to put in there. It wasn't like she had an entire friend group to plaster all over, or a boyfriend to admire. Besides, she never knew if her parents were planning to stay somewhere long enough for her to actually bother getting attatched.

Her backpack flapped mercilessly around on her back as she jogged out of the building. Of course, she had parked at the spot furthest from school. In her defense, it had been the only one available. And the extra exercise couldn't hurt.

When her car finally came to view, so did a certain pale boy. It had plagued her mind the entire day. She had no idea what excuse she would come up with this time, especially since she didn't remember. So Shivani opted for the easiest one. Sorry, I was on my period, hehe. Okay so it sucked, but it was the best one she could think of. Hopefully Stiles was the kind of guy who got grossed out by period talk, and would immediately drop it at the mention.

"Hey." Shivani greeted, throwing the boy a loopsided grin. She wanted to come off as chill, nonchalant.

"Hi." The boy replied. Today, just like every other day, he was comfortably dressed in a plain t shirt and his trusty flannel.

"How's your day been?" Shivani casually started. Stiles could barely contain himself as he rolled his eyes.

"Stop that, you are not small talking yourself out of this." He said, arms crossed over his chest.

"Wha- I have no idea what you're talking about." Good one, just pretend like you have no idea what he's on about.

"Oh, oh yeah you do." Stiles concluded, nodding his head frantically as he spoke. "You have an idea, actually you have every idea of what I'm talking about. Now give me that idea."

"I know I probably acted weird yesterday and-"

"Probably? You were acting a whole lot more than 'probably a little weird'." He repeated in a mocking tone. "Why does it sound like you have absolutely no clue what went down yesterday. You literally froze water. With your own hand. Who are you Harry Potter? Gandalf?"

"You don't actually believe I froze water with my hand, do you? I mean, that's ridiculous. That would mean I'm a witch or something, which is just stupid. What's the next thing you're gonna accuse me of doing? Moving objects with my mind?" Shivani said, shaking her head in mock disbelief. She felt bad lying like this to him, but what other options did she have?

"You can do that?!" The boy questioned, eyes wide.

"It was a joke, Stilinski. Ever heard of sarcasm?"

"Actually, I think I've heard of it yeah." He replied.

"Whatever. Look, I don't know what kind of freak show of a town this is, but witches aren't real, and if they were, I would certainly not be one. Geez, everyone here's crazy." The last sentence wasn't a complete lie. Everyone here were proving to be. . . odd. Stiles was willing to believe in magic just like that. Lydia was running around naked. Scott attacked everyone on the lacrosse field at practice, even when he was the goalie. And Allison. . . well, Allison had a murdering pshycotic aunt who had just passed away. Or so Shivani had heard. "If I was acting weird yesterday, it's because I just got my period, alright?"

     Stiles didn't buy it.

"Yeah, sure. A period did that. I'm not stupid and I know what I saw. When you're ready to actually tell me about that weird secret of yours that I know you're hiding, feel free to give me a call." With that, Stiles ended the conversation by leaving the thwarted girl behind.

As he got into his jeep and prepared to drive away, he threw one last look in her direction. Something was very off with her. She had some sort of power. He was positive now that she was some kind of supernatural creatures, but he had absolutely no clue what she was. But he was going to find out. Like he did everything else. He was the brains, and Scott the muscles.

He had actually yet to voice his suspensions about the girl to his werewolf friend. Well, he had briefly mentioned it, but Scott had shot the theory down quickly. Stiles figured he'd keep it under wraps until he could figure up what was up with her. With a new creature, which was lizard like according to Scott, running around killing people and Derek forming a pack to fight the Argents, Scott had enough on his plate. And if it revealed itself that Shivani was that said creature? Stiles could solve a whole lot of problems.

Off he went to aid his best friend against the supernatural and to research creatures online. Maybe he'd have some luck figuring Shivani out that way.
