CHAPTER ELEVEN
I TOLD YOU SO
"i don't need a cure for me"
˚✧₊*⁎⁺˳✧༚

Words Shivani Caddel definitely would not use to describe herself would be whitty, sarcastic and sassy. But lately that is absolutely the words that seemed to describe her the best. She had been in Beacon Hills only a few weeks and barely knew anyone there, yet a certain brown haired spastic boy was getting under her skin, revealing sides to herself that she didn't even know she had. The girl was closed off and a total loner, but whenever in the company of him, she could be considered as totally extroverted and talkative.

Stiles Stilinski was possibly the most annoying boy she had ever encounter. He was constantly doing something, whether that was plotting how to save the town and defeat the big bad wolf ( Derek 'sour wolf ' Hale ) or the kanima, or if it was simply constantly bouncing his leg up and down while spitting sarcastically lazed words at his friends. Somehow his behavior had smitten over to Shivani. She found herself rolling her eyes and pursing her lips in attitude whenever someone said something stupid, and she took every opportunity to make a sarcastic remark. It was completely out of character.

To be fair, the two had been spending some time together lately. It was strictly platonic, of course. Shivani could never date someone like Stiles, and vica versa. The two had decided to put their heads together and figure out a way to solve this whole kanima situation as the previous plan at the rave had failed oh so miserably. As Stiles had stated, if they didn't figure this out soon, they were all 'royally screwed'. And he was right. They had no idea when the master would be gaining full control of Jackson. Hopefully it was later rather than sooner.

A big piece of the puzzle was figuring out who the one controlling Jackson was. Allison's mom had been crossed off the list as she had been too busy trying to kill Scott at the night of the rave to control Jackson. Stiles had been majorly disappointed when he had to ruin the perfect line of mountain ash in order to saving Scott. Not that he didn't want to save his best friend, he was just proud of himself for coming through with his part of the plan.

After the horrible shit show of a night they just had, Stiles and Shivani both had made their way home, separately of course. While he was pacing around in his room, Shivani was removing her make up, preparing for bed. Though the whole kanima thing kept plaguing her mind, Shivani wasn't about to lose any sleep over it. She got grumpy when she didn't get her fair share of sleep.

When Shivani had arrived back home, she was exhausted. The last thing she thought she would be receiving was a lecture from her parents. Shockingly enough, both were at home, and very disappointed that Shivani had gone to a rave without even letting them know. To be fair, she usually never had to let them know when she went out as they rarely was home to figure she was gone. Shivani was used to the two lecturing her as a way to make up for their less than great parenting.

Stiles had shot her several text, which she ignored. He was way to spastic and anxious for her liking. It apparead that every waking moment he had the chance to text her about some stupid theory he had cooked up, he took. Scott was either too busy with school, Allison or being a werewolf to hear Stiles' many, many theories. And seeing as there was no way in hell Stiles was talking to neither Isaac nor Erica without being forced to, Shivani ended up at the receiving end of his nonstop conspiracies.

Shivani usually replied with whatever. Allison pointed out that ignoring the Stilinski boy wouldn't exactly be her golden ticket into the friend circle. Gosh, being a loner was so much more fun and less stressful.

The rest of the weekend was rather uneventful and drab for Shivani. Saturday was spent doing a pile of chores her parents had handed her, and the Sunday went on as it usually did. Sunday's were Shivani's sleep day. At least that's what she called it. Every Sunday she'd close all blinds and turn off all the lights in order to lay in bed watching criminal minds. This was her way of charging her social battery for the long week to come.

Nothing said relaxing more then Matthew Gray Gubler, a comfortable bed and a handful of snacks.

When the monday finally came, Shivani got a suprise. A good suprise. It was apparently spring break, something she had complete forgotten when she had been wrapped up in the whole supernatural mess. She had quite literally screamed out in joy when she woke up at six am only for her to be able to go back to sleep.

Her schedule, as per usual, was completely cleared for the week. Well, except for Lydia Martin's birthday party on the upcoming Friday. Allison had invited the Caddel girl. To begin with she declined the invite. She didn't really know Lydia, plus she was kind of a bitch. But Allison had persuaded her to come. The week had rushed past quicker then Shivani would've preferred, but here she was sitting with her legs crisscrossed on the Argent girl's bed.

Lydia was there too, and of course Allison. The trio was currently talking about clothes, a topic that really didn't interest Shivani all that much. She was, however, very facinated by the fact that Lydia always showed up dressed to impress. Which also included her birthday party.

"How many outfits do you plan on wearing tonight?" Shivani questioned in disbelief when the strawberry blonde pulled out yet another dress. Lydia smirked in return.

"It's my birthday party. I'm thinking host dress, evening dress, then, mm, after- hours casual." Lydia responded. Shivani appreciated the effort. Honestly, she wished she had the energy to go all out like Lydia. Sadly, 99.9% Shivani's focus was on her bed 100% of the time.

"I noticed that you didn't send out any invites." Allison commented, watching Lydia narrow her eyes at one of the dresses she had brought.

Lydia rolled her eyes dramatically at the question, putting the dress down to look at another. "It's the biggest party of the year, Allison. Everyone knows." She said matter of factly.

Allison shared a skeptical look with Shivani. "I was wondering if maybe this year things, you know, might be different." Lydia's brows quirked up in confusion.

Obvious to Shivani, Allison was hinting to the fact that Lydia had been knocked off her throne. People weren't staring at her in the school hallways because she was stunning or popular anymore. They were all staring and whispering because Lydia Martin was now official the nut job of Beacon Hills. Shivani felt with the girl. It wasn't her fault at all, but the fact remained. Lydia just wasn't that much of a 'it' girl anymore.

"Why would anything be different?" Lydia asked, her head cocked to the right. Allison cleared her throat.

"Just 'cause things have been off lately. Things and people. Like Jackson." Shivani sat back, watching the situation unravel infront of her.

"What do you care about Jackson?" Lydia questioned, suspicion laced in her words as she narrowed her eyes at the tall brunette across from her.

"Do you know if he's coming tonight?" Lydia pursed her lips at the question.

"Everyone's coming." With that, Lydia's attention was switched back over to the dress in her hand. "This one's American rag. Mm, I love it." Lydia looked over at Allison. "For me, not you. This one's material girl. It's for you." A floral pattern dress was swiftly thrown over at Allison. "Ms. Argent. What do you think of this one?" Lydia asked the woman, alerting her presence to both Allison and Shivani.

The red haired woman smiled. "Oh, it's lovely. Allison, uh, can I grab you for a moment to talk? Just the two of us." Allison looked over at her two friends before glancing back at her mother.

"Um, can we do it later?" Allison tried. Her mother shook her head slightly.

"Actually, uh, to be honest, sooner would be- would be better." Allison shot her mom a look, telling her no with her eyes. Little did the Argent girl know that her mother had received a werewolf bite from none other then Derek Hale. And what happened to a werewolf hunter when they turned into a werewolf? Well, Allison was about to learn that later on the night.

     "Party's at 10:00." Lydia stated.

Shivani furrowed her brows as she picked up on the pained expression Victoria Argent was wearing, urgency hidden behind her words. "Um, will you be around before then?" Shivani wasn't sure what, but something was off.

"I think so." Allison sighed in reply.

"You think so." The Argent woman repeated.

"I don't know." Allison said, blowing her mother off. Shivani frowned deeply at the two. Yeah, something was definitely off.

Allison's mom was soon enough out of the room, leaving the three girls to continue chatting about the party. Shivani was left with an uncomfortable feeling in the pit of her stomach when she left to go get changed at her house. She was praying her gut feeling was nothing but just that, and that the night would be uneventful.

˚✧₊*⁎⁺˳✧༚

The night was not uneventful. In fact, it was quite the opposite.

Shivani, despite not wanting to even be at the party, was currently partying, having the time of her life alongside of her new friends; a bunch of drag queens Stiles had invited. Shivani wasn't sure which part was the most shocking; her dancing outside of the confined space of her own bedroom or these being friends of Stiles. Either way, Shivani was having an absolute blast.

Okay, so maybe the brunette mermaid had a tad bit too much to drink. She had literally downed each red solo cup filled up with Lydia's special home made punch. The thing was insanely good. Shivani made a mental note to ask Lydia about the recipe after the party.

While somewhat tipsy ( or maybe a tad bit more than that ) Shivani was still being cautious of the very wet pool in Lydia's backyard. A bunch of people was crowded around it, and no one was drunk enough to overlook a mermaid. Which was why Shivani was partying it out inside of the house, a safe distance from the pool.

"Shivani!" A loud voice exclaimed over the loud music. It caught her attention immediately. Her head snapped in the direction of the voice, eyes wandering from face to face to pin point who was calling her name. A grin fell upon her face when she spotted him.

"Stiles!" She squealed, pushing her way through the crowd of people and towards him. He was just as 'drunk' as she was, if not more. He hadn't expected to have such a blast either, but here was, actually enjoying himself. It was something he hadn't done in a while.

Shivani unexpectedly pulled the boy into a hug, her lopsided grin still plastered on her face. "This is the most fun I've had in, like, forever." Shivani gushed to the boy who nodded in agreement. "Are Lydia's parties always like this?"

The boy awkwardly scratched his neck. "I haven't really been to one before. . ." He trailed off.

"Oh, well then, let's have fun while the night is still young!" With that, the brunette dragged Stiles with her back over to the drag queens, already dancing away carelessly to the music.

Nothing could bring down her mood.

Shivani's mood was drastically brought down when she found herself in the arms of strangers. Everyone was chanting and cheering as they prepared to throw the Caddel girl into the inviting pool infront of them. She had no idea how she ended up in this situation. The last thing she could recall was dancing with Stiles, and the next, she was here.

"Don't do this!" Her voice was filled with panic. "I swear to god if you guys don't let me down!"

Once the count down hit one, Shivani clenched her eyes shut, preparing herself to be enfugled in water. But the familiar wet sensation never reached her. Instead, Shivani found herself in a pair of arms. Slowly, she opened her eyes. Scott offered her smile, letting her feet hit the ground.

"Oh thank god. I owe you one."

The nearly fishy incident had sobered Shivani up enough to realize what was going on. Everyone around her was going absolutely bat shit crazy, throwing each other and themselves into the pool. Scott dragged the girl over to Stiles, hastily explaining the situation to them.

"We need to find Lydia, there's something in the drink." Apparently both Stiles and Scott had hallucinated only moments earlier. Shivani was eternally greatful she hadn't. She wasn't quite sure why she hadn't, but she didn't give it too much thought.

After Shivani and Stiles had rounded the house together, they returned to Scott. "Hey, we can't find her." Stiles said. "And, dude, anyone who drank that crap, they're freaking out."

"I can see that." Scott replied, eyes locked on the lunacy going on around them.

"Yeah, great observation, Stilinski." Stiles shot Shivani a stinky look.

"What the hell do we do?" Stiles asked, ignoring Shivani's comment.

Scott, confused and shook all at once, didn't have an answer. "I don't know, but we gotta—"

Before Scott could finish his sentence, a familiar voice cut him off. "I can't swim! No, no, no, no, stop, guys! I can't swim! I can't swim! I can't-" the boy, Matt, was thrown by the crowd into the water, much like what they had tried doing to Shivani. Her eyes widened as the boy desperately tried keeping his head above the surface. But the jaw dropping moment was when Jackson extended his hand out for him, pulling him out of the water.

Everything started to click.

"What are you looking at?"

The puzzle pieces were all falling into place.

"The cops are here. Party's over!"

Stiles was freaking right.

"I told you so."
