III. THE CONFRONTATION
Hermione scoffed softly at his attitude. She rolled her eyes and followed him to McGonagall's office.
They followed inside to find Dumbledore's portrait.
"Professor Dumbledore! I'm glad to be back to Hogwarts again!" Hermione screeched, grinning at the moving portrait.
"Ms. Granger! Good to see you back at Hogwarts! I see you've become friends with everyone!" Dumbledore exclaimed, his eyes darting between both Draco and Hermione.
"P-" Draco started. Before he could complete, Dumbledore opened the door without asking for the password.
"No password?" Hermione questioned, tilting her head.
Dumbledore laughed, shaking his head.
"You already said the password, Ms. Granger." He exclaimed, looking at her with delight. Hermione frowned, wondering when she said it.
She ignored it and went inside the office to find McGonagall leaning against a wall, reading a book.
"Ah! Mr. Malfoy and Ms. Granger. Right on time, you are." She smiled.
Hermione sat before McGonagall, Draco imitating her actions. Mcgonnagal gave a soft smile in Draco's direction as she got 2 pieces of parchment out, handing it to them.
"What is this, Professor?" Draco asked, his eyes scanning over the parchment.
"It's a set of rules you must follow when you are Head Boy and Head Girl. If these rules are broken, you will be removed from your specific post." The Headmistress said, licking her lips.
"Also, these are the keys to your dorm." She said, handing them two keys.
Hermione and Draco exchanged glances, looking away quickly.
McGonagall smiled softly, darting her eyes towards the door.
"You may take your leave now." She said, coughing softly. Hermione and Draco thanked her and left.
Hermione walked down the staircase, biting her lip in frustration. Draco stopped as he gulped softly.
"Herm- Granger!" He called out, his hands finding themselves in his pockets. The brunette turned around, clutching her bag.
"Yes, Malfoy?" She asked.
"Erm–you still have my key." He said, rubbing the back of his head. Hermione widened her eyes softly as she handed him the key.
"Sorry.." she muttered and sped her way down the hallway, trying her hardest to avoid the awkward situation.
Draco cleared his throat and left the hallway to the Slytherin Common Room.
‐
"Hermione, are you alright? You look quite pale." Ron said, gulping down his chicken.
She nodded, taking a big gulp of water.
Ginny widened her eyes as she grabbed the glass of water from Hermione's hand, rubbing her back as she coughed. Hermione gave a cheeky smile towards Ginny, as McGonagall clapped her hands, grabbing everyone's attention.
"May I have everyone's attention? It is time to announce our Head Boy and Head Girl. Are you all ready?" She asked, smiling. Everyone clapped their hands, cheering loudly.
Hermione turned around to find Draco just as pale as her. Their eyes met as they turned away.
"Well, our Head Boy, is none other than our own, Draco Malfoy." McGonagall cheered. He smiled softly, getting up and walking towards her.
Ginny looked at Hermione, smiling in an appreciative manner.
"Our Head Girl, Hermione Granger!"
Everyone cheered even louder as Hermione got up, walking next to Draco.
‐
After the extravagant dinner, Hermione and Draco walked to the newly built hallway as Hermione unlocked the dorm.
The Common Room was huge, with two bookshelves, a kitchen, a dining area and a large couch with an expensive fireplace.
There were stairs below the entrance of the common room. They went down, looking at the Common Room.
There were small staircases leading up to their dormrooms. They wished each other an awkward 'Good Night' and went to their respective dorm.
