"Hermione, you've received a letter dear." A voice shouted from below. Hermione grinned softly, tucking her sweater inside her bag and rushing down the stairs.

She placed the bag next to her trunk and took the letter. She tore the envelope, opening the letter.

Ms. Granger,

We are pleased to inform you that you have been nominated as Head girl in your 8th year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

The school is successfully rebuilt, it's infrastructure shining like any other, once again. I am writing this letter to wish you luck in fulfilling your responsibilities as Head girl and to inform you that Hogwarts is pleased to have you as it's Head girl.

You have proven yourself worthy after the Wizarding War, and we appreciate your efforts in helping to fight Voldemort.

Please do find the enclosed list of details you may need as Head Girl. You will be having a meeting with the rest of the student council the week after you've reached Hogwarts. The Head Boy and you will be sharing a common room under the council wing. Please do cooperate for the betterment of Hogwarts.

We wait here in anticipation for your arrival.

Draco dormiens nunquam titillandus

Sincerely Yours,

Minerva McGonagall
Headmistress.

She closed the letter, a smile creeping on her face. She put it back in the torn envelope and kept it in her bag. Ginny came running down the stairs, carrying her trunk. She sighed and engulfed Hermione into a tight hug.

"I can't believe we're going back to Hogwarts." Ginny sighed, rubbing Hermione's back. Hermione frowned, pulling back. "You say it like it's a bad thing. Are you okay?" She asked with a worried expression. Ginny smiled and nodded.

"It's just- It's been a long time since I've set foot into those halls. It's been a long time for all of us. When I think about the Great Hall, the Wizarding War comes screaming back to me."

Hermione gulped, frowning softly. "It's alright, Gin. I'm sure all of those feelings will vanish when we meet our friends again." Hermione smiled.

Ginny nodded, sighing softly. She looked back at Hermione, scrunching her eyebrows. "What was that letter you got?"

Hermione smiled, looking down.

"Hermione?" Ginny asked, suspicion and warning dancing in her tone. "I've been selected as Head Girl for this year." She squeeled, hugging Ginny. Ginny gasped and hugged her back.

Hermione carried her luggage through the compartments. She entered the one with Harry, Ginny and Ron. She smiled and placed her trunk in the overhead as she took a seat next to Ginny.

Harry was sleeping, while Ron was munching on some bogey licorice. Ginny was reading the latest edition of The Quibbler. She heard a knock on the door of the compartment.

"'Ey, look! It's Dean and Seamus!" Ron squealed, licking his fingers. Hermione cringed, looking at Ron. She turned around and smiled brightly as Dean and Seamus linked hands, smiling proudly.

"Head Girl." Seamus muttered, bowing before Hermione. The brunette snickered, bowing back.

"It's such an honor to have a Gryffindor as Head Girl after so long. Hopefully this year the Slytherin snakes aren't part of the council." Seamus laughed. Dean frowned, hitting his arm.

"Seamus, they're still people. If there's one thing that the Wizarding War taught us, it is to never do blood prejudice. It doesn't matter which house any person belongs to. If they're bad, it's their personality. It's not related to their blood or their house." Hermione said proudly, her eyes shining under the moonlight casting through the window.

"Seems like the letter McGonagall sent left a very sweet impact on Hermione." Ginny muttered, smirking softly.

Harry and Ron frowned, looking at her with suspicion.

"Gin, what's up?" Harry asked, placing the palm of his hands on her knees, making her look up at him. Ron inched closer too.

"Ow! Dean, not too close, mate!" Ron shouted as his head bumped against Dean's as all of them looked at Ginny and Hermione. Ginny snickered, glancing at Hermione, who's face was greener than the Forbidden Forest.

"Well- McGonagall sent a letter with the post confirmation letter to Hermione. That letter claimed that the Head Boy - who will be partnered with Hermione is Blondie Boy from our favourite house." The Weasley grinned, folding her arms.

The four boys gasped, looking at each other. Either with horror or astonishment. Hermione bit her lip, looking down.

"Pucey? Seriously?" Dean questioned, disgust flashing across his face.

"Exactly - wait, no. When was Pucey blonde?" Ginny questioned to Dean, her hands tightening. Dean nodded, his eyes lighting up. "He dyed his hair blonde. Want to see?" He asked, clutching Ginny's hand. She nodded, grinning widely.

They ran out the compartment, their giggles bouncing off the walls.

"You still haven't answered us, Hermione." Harry said, his voice laced with sarcasm.

"Do I really have to tell? You'll find out in a few hours!" Hermione screeched, clutching the fabric of her jeans. Harry nodded, inching even closer.

"It's Malfoy." She said, looking at their reactions.

Before they could reply, a voice called out from the entrance of the compartment.

"Talking about me, Granger?"
