Fire Island is an island located parallel to the South Shore of Long Island, New York. Within Fire Island is a resort /harbor town calked Fire Island Pines. Colloquially referred to as FIP or simply the Pines or Pines, it's many beaches are dotted with rentable beach houses and luxury condos.

FIP was a popular destination for the gay community in the 1980's, so much so, that a gay dance club was opened there. Sexual freedom was a major part of gay culture at this time, having sex with whoever they want, whenever they want, was very important to the LGBT community, particularly gay men. So much so, that gay parties, clubs and bathhouses especially, were full of sexual activity, lots of times with complete strangers. This is one of the main reasons why the HIV/AIDS virus was spread rapidly among gay men after it was first discovered in 1981 and devastated that community.

I. You are a gay or bisexual male and are on a weekend vacation at Fire Island. You hear of a beach party that is going to be full of noting but, hot and cute guys, just like yourself. So of course you go.
When you get there, you notice a large tent had been set up to serve as a makeshift dance club, complete with DJ. When you get inside the tent, you notice a very good looking young man out on the dance floor in nothing but an open button down shirt and small swim trunks that accentuate his crotch and he notices you. Without saying a word, the mystery man pulls you to the dance floor and you both grind up against each other to the beat of the music for a good while. Afterwards, you two sit down for a drink and he introduces himself as Henry.

After a bit of talking, Henry invites you back to his beach bungalow (small beach house) for the night.
