Note For Reviewers & Judges
A Haiku is a Japanese style poem, composed of three lines and is often unrhymed. Poetries are generally preferred in vintage English and in a rhyming pattern, as I have been told so by several reviewers.
However, Haiku is a different branch. It encapsulates the imageries of a natural world or nature, to be specific or any other social cause or poem with an inner meaning. Haikus DO NOT have to be rhymed. Also, Haikus are NOT required to be written in vintage English. Keeping that in mind, please review or judge my poetry book.
Anyone can look up to several articles on Internet for more information on Haikus.
Below given are some popular Haikus written by famous poets to give you an in-depth view and knowledge of Haikus.
“The Old Pond” by Matsuo Bashō
An old silent pond
A frog jumps into the pond—
Splash! Silence again.
“A World of Dew” by Kobayashi Issa
A world of dew,
And within every dewdrop
A world of struggle.
“The Taste of Rain” by Jack Kerouac
The taste
Of rain
—Why kneel?
Thank You.
