Winifred「ヰニフレッド」 is a Holy Knight, the daughter of the Holy Knight Julius who trained along with Meliodas in the past, and Eugene's older sister. She is a deuteragonist of the series, an alleged survivor from the Kingdom of Danafor, and a waitress at Boar Hat, eventually joining alongside The Seven Deadly Sins and Princess Elizabeth Liones in their journey.

In Four Knights of the Apocalypse, she is the Queen of Camelot and the wife of Arthur Pendragon. She runs away from Camelot and becomes affiliated with Percival in order to stop her husband's atrocious behavior.

Winifred is described by many characters as a beautiful young woman of a slender build and average height with sparkling blue eyes, long golden hair that is tied to both sides of her head, a braid running down from the back of her head, and a bow attached at the end of the braid. She also wears a white lace around her forehead.

As a Holy Knight, she wears golden armor, a blue cape, white leather boots, and a blue and white skirt. After losing her right eye in the fight against Cusack, Winifred wears a black cloth to cover it.

As a waitress in Boar Hat, Winifred wears a pink buttoned shirt with a black ribbon and a midriff exposing her belly button, a dark mini skirt, strapped with an orange belt, a black stocking on her left leg, and black-white heels.

Her casual attire consists of a black headband, a full-sleeved black top with a white collar and red ribbon attached to it, a light grey skirt, grey leggings, and black heels.

During the New Holy War, she wears a navy blue dress, covered by a long light brown coat, and short brown winter boots, all made by Merlin.

In Four Knights of the Apocalypse, she's thirty-two years of age and is clearly much older, yet doesn't look very different from her teens nonetheless. She now wears new garbs that consist of a collared purple top with a white armband and belt along with matching accents over the shoulders and sleeves, a matching long purple skirt that reaches well below her knees, and beige high boots. Her stop also contains the royal family's stigma just over her chest and on its right.

Personality

At the beginning of the series, Winifred comes off as a serious girl with a calm demeanor who tends to be completely unfazed by most of the events that occur and often keeps her distance from others. She appears as a cold individual, always wearing a stern expression on her face while talking to people, mistaking her as emotionless, and doesn't like when people keep secrets from her. Her seemingly unapproachable persona earned her the nickname Ice Queen from Meliodas, much to her annoyance. She's a distrustful individual who prefers to do things on her own instead of relying on others, resulting in a sour relationship with the other Holy Knights she was paired up with. She takes high pride in her job as a Holy Knight and possesses a strong sense of justice, believing that all men should be equal, males or females, rich or poor. Winifred never hesitates to rush into the scene and help people who are in distress no matter what the conflict may be, showing her high morality and sense of honor. She idolized her father as a child and wished to become just like them, a hero who saves people in their time of need, thus she acts according to that in her beliefs.

Behind Winifred's stone-cold personality, she seems to easily get emotionally upset, which is masked by her strong will. Even in calm situations, she sometimes lets her emotions get the best of her. Furthermore, there are some moments that cause her to be visibly surprised and unable to hide her shock. In reality, she possesses an unmistakably kind heart as shown in her gestures with other people but those actions are often kept in the dark due to her past. She's a simply socially awkward girl who never had any real friends to talk to except for her late little brother, thus she's seen as nervous and unable to act accordingly in a lot of social interactions. That aspect of her personality caused her to become a victim of constant teasing from Meliodas and Ban--maybe that's why she seems to be able to get along with Gowther just fine, unlike many others. In fact, Winifred has on several occasions failed to consider the feelings of others, and it proves to be her greatest flaw. However, her kindness has its limits, as she's prone to mood swings and getting annoyed over trivial things, often expressing this annoyance with sarcasm.

While she's mostly a kind person, she can also be very bossy and is harshly critical of those who don't live up to her expectations, particularly Meliodas, whose case she constantly gets on due to his consistently nonchalant and laid-back behavior and due to his actions around Elizabeth, implying that she's a perfectionist. She also has a ton of repressed anger issues over being left in the darkness and lied to regarding the truth behind Meliodas and her family's demise. Despite her immensely serious personality and efforts to be above the more bizarre antics of her friends, Winifred does have her own hidden elements such as being frightened by hearing ghost stories, as well as the dark. It's seen with her interactions with other people that Winifred has a lot of love to give but doesn't know how to do that due to her losing her family at a very young age, over time she learns how to show her affection more naturally and less awkwardly. She can be rather shy when embarrassed and constantly picked on, showing signs of "tsundere" behavior, and would never hesitate to go physical against those who embarrass her so much.
