Lady Lucy Gladstone (ルーシー・グラッドストーン, Rūshī Guraddosutōn) is the current head of the Gladstone house, the daughter of Edmund and Clara Gladstone, niece of Raymond and Eleanor Disraeli, the Queen's Viper, and the heiress of the Gladstone Corporation.

Appearance

Lucy is a short, prepubescent girl with extremely pale skin. Her body is thin and diminutive and possesses a very round face, with a small, pointed chin, thin eyebrows, a small nose, and large, thick-lashed gray eyes. Short, wavy silver hair flows freely to about the level of her ears, parted at the center with long bangs falling to the center of her face, hiding the location of her Faustian contract with Vivian Ludenberg on the nape of her neck.

Lucy typically dresses in a way that suits her status as a noblewoman. She's often seen wearing a black gown with chiffon fabric covering her upper chest area that has black ribbons tied on her neck and shoulders, with the addition of a purple rose on the chest. The sleeves expand on her shoulders and wrists with a pale blue ribbon tied around her waist. Several pink roses align on the dress, circling around it, and ends with dark frills at the bottom with a pair of pink low-heel boots.

Lucy sports a single ring on her right hand that's an ornate silver piece that holds an emerald-cut red ruby; it is her family's heirloom that has been passed down for generations.

In her disguise as Roland to infiltrate Weston College, Lucy wears a black wig that's irregularly cut in an asymmetrical fashion with the bangs falling into the center of her face. On either side of her face, the hair is cut straight, the left side to one level and the right side to two. 

Personality

At first, Lucy appears as a calm and serious young lady who only speaks whenever it's absolutely necessary and prefers speaking in a highly polite and formal manner. This was first noticed by Sebastian when she first visited the Phantomhive Manor to meet Ciel to seek his partnership. Mey-Rin described her as "someone who's as cold as ice" upon seeing her for the first time. Initially, she gives a cold and serious aura around her, appearing somehow emotionless and aloof. Later on, it's shown that she tends to be flippant and rude to everybody despite her cool and calm behavior to the point of insulting people with no shame whatsoever. Lucy seems to take nothing seriously, and almost always has a playful grin on his face, carrying a mischievous air around her. She's quite dry-humored and enjoys teasing those around her and tends to be sadistic about it as she'd normally grin before beginning her teasing, placing people in uncomfortable situations. She finds utmost amusement in others' abnormal reactions to things.

Lucy is flirtatious and open to affection with her first meeting with Ciel, winking at him several times and trying sweet talking with him, much to his discomfort. However, this is entirely because she finds his reactions to her behavior entertaining. She jokingly calls herself a "sly woman" and declares that she has a very jealous streak, fully aware of her actions and their effects on other people. She's not afraid of speaking her mind openly, like how she intentionally told Ciel that she didn't expect the Earl of Phantomhive to be a girl, offending him. Ciel angrily describes her as "someone with no shame" upon their first meeting while Sebastian simply says that she's "quite bold." She has an extremely sweet tooth, placing great importance on buns, scones, and tea. Lucy's eyes would sparkle and get fully excited whenever she sees sweets, complementing Sebastian on his excellent skills and even declaring that he's now her new love. She's quite childish and loves pulling pranks on people, getting along well with Elizabeth over their shared love for fashion and accessories.

Despite appearing confident and mischievous, Lucy knows when to get serious and has a surprisingly short temper. She argues with Ciel on different occasions while on missions, snapping at him for the smallest reasons. Lucy is highly intelligent and is talented at reading people, having strong memorization skills, reciting many important facts after barely glancing at them once. She often attempts to put up emotional walls and hide her true emotions under a playful demeanor and a grin — or, if she's in a bad mood, under a completely blank expression. Lucy hates being vulnerable around people, refusing to sleep around anyone she doesn't trust, and can put on and take off a smile whenever a smile is necessary. In reality, she's a broken girl and is quite sadistic, laughing loudly after shooting a man with her gun despite her face being stained with blood. She describes that feeling as the best thing ever and that she never felt that free before.

The confident, cheerful persona that Lucy puts up begins to crumble in situations where she isn't in control, or when her past or self-hatred are dredged up.

• Lucy's favorite genre of books is mystery and detective novels. She's seen reading for several authors such as Charles Dickens.

• Lucy can speak Latin fluently along with a little bit of Italian as she's seen mentioning Latin words on a couple of occasions. She can even speak French at a decent level, but Ciel is still better than her.

• Her favorite animals are rabbits. She even owns a pet rabbit at her manor.

• Lucy's favorite flower is the lotus.

• It appears that Lucy desires to learn housework, especially cooking, unlike normal noblewomen.

• Lucy hates sour food, however, she still enjoys a lemon cake served to her by Sebastian.

• She loathes adults and thinks they're all corrupted. Hence, she's forced to tolerate her family's corporation's executives during the meetings for diplomatic reasons.

• It's revealed that Lucy is a violinist and loves playing on the instrument whenever she's angry or distressed. She claims that nothing calms her more than a good book or some music.

• Lucy is the one who chooses her wardrobe and not Vivian. It's because Lucy takes good care of her appearance due to her status and enjoys picking her own dresses.

Etymology

• Lucy's name means "light" in Latin, Italian, and Norman.

• Before Yana Toboso settled on a name, various other names were considered for Lucy. For example, Charlotte, Mabel, Sylvia, Violet, and Edith. Tentative names for her surname were Archivist, Sade, and Chastel.
