'Cause the situation
Is like a mountain that's been weighing on my conscience
If I'm being honest
"No," the groan falls from Harry's lips when I attempted to unwrap my arms from around him. Instead, his hands that were slotted under his head shot up to yank my hands back so they were wrapped around him again. "Better," he hums and snuggles into me.
"Harry, I've got an important meeting with Louis today," I reminded him. Last night after finishing the movie and the popcorn, Harry decided to watch an episode of Grey's Anatomy with me. We fell asleep on the couch and when we woke up, it was around three am. When I checked my phone before we got into bed, Louis had planned a meeting for us to have during lunch.
"No, please," he denies and turns around so our chests were pressed together and his head snuggles into the side of my neck. "You can go back to sleep, Sunshine," I tell him, running the tip of my nails down his back. Even though it was nearly noon. "Sleep with you," he slurs, barely awake or refusing to be awake.
"If Louis gets upset with me for being late, I'm blaming you," I warned him. Harry's eyes opened widely," Angry Louis is not a good Louis..." He murmurs. Harry hesitantly releases me, turning the other side as he stretches his arms over his head.
Using that opportunity, I crawled out of bed and slipped my feet into Harry's fluffy pink slippers and made my way to the bathroom. After brushing my teeth and washing my face, I walked to my closet, threw a dress on the bed and stripped off my clothes to get into the shower.
The shower doesn't take long, I made sure to carefully clean my tattoo before drying my skin and walking back to my room. While I changed my clothes, Harry used the washroom, brushed his teeth and washed his face. When he enters the bedroom, he lazily moves to sit to the edge of the bed, watching me move around the room, getting dressed and ready to leave.
I grabbed my makeup bag to apply some makeup, not an extreme look when Harry stops me. "Can I do it?" he cautiously asks, looking at the cute bag and back at me. "Sure," I granted and Harry stands and walks to me.
He lifts me and sits me down on a familiar desk. I could tell both of us were remembering the same memories by the sneaky look Harry was giving me right now. I opened the makeup bag and put the container of brushes I had beside it.
Staring at everything, he doesn't seem to be confused at all. I remembered him saying Liam forced him to be his makeup mannequin so I guess he paid attention.
I sit there, playing with the waistband of his sweats, sometimes running my hand over his smooth skin, tracing the tattoos inked on him. Harry carefully and attentively applies the makeup on my face, being so gentle so he could get everything done properly.
I close my eyes, remain still, then my head whenever he tells me to. A couple of times he'd look extra cute to me and I'd touch his nose, saying," boop," as I do and Harry would glare at me.
"Give me a kiss before I put the lipstick," Harry orders, fingers slipping into my hair at the back of my head, holding my face for him. Complying, I kissed his lips, giving him one hell of a kiss that leaves him breathless, chest rapidly rising and falling, those green oceans darkened and begging for more when I pull away.
One last time, I leaned in and pecked his swollen lips before leaning back innocently as if nothing happened. "Christ, baby. You're lucky I can't have my way with you right now," Harry mutters, grabbing the liquid lipstick. It was a perfect nude colour, one that I loved on me and wish that I wore it more. Made me happy Harry chose that shade too.
"Should I line your lips before?" Harry questions, looking around for a pencil liner. "No, it's fine," I stopped him," it will come off either way when I'm eating or drinking."
Harry nods and slides his hand down to hold my face at a perfect angle for the other hand to paint my lips. Taking his time, especially at the curve of my lips until my entire lip was painted perfectly. "There we go," he smiles, beaming at his woke on my face.
"Should hire me as your makeup artist," harry reckons, proud of himself. He helps me off the table and in front of the mirror, standing behind me and he pushes my hair off my shoulder so I could see my face properly.
As expected, I look fucking stunning. I swear, Harry is the best at everything he does.
"Holy fuck, I look hot," I blurted out, tilting my head to see the pretty highlight on my cheekbones. His hands slide around my waist, pulling my back to his chest and he places his chin on my shoulder. "You are hot, baby," he corrects me. His attention slid down on the mirror," especially in this dress."
It was a simple dress, nothing too special about it. It's just one of those days I don't want to wear pants, you know?
"Mmm, I love you," I say, turning my head to kiss the side of the forehead. Harry's hands dropped from around my waist and he straightens himself, turning me around. "And I love you," he returns, giving me the lightest kiss on my lips so my lipstick wouldn't smudge.
"Can we go get our nails done together soon? I haven't had them done in a while," Harry wonders out, starting to pack up my makeup bag again. I walked to my closet, pushing all the close hangers to the right side. There's was already empty shelves and drawers too.
"How about we get them done today?" I offered, grabbing my shoes and walking back to Harry. "Really?" He looks at me, surprised. "Yes, I'll make the appointment and pick you up after the meeting," I answered.
"Okay, thank you," he says, smiling so widely that his dimples bracket his smile. I take his hand into mine, walking him to the closet. Harry gives me a confused look, staring at my closet. "Fill up this side, please? There are drawers and shelves too if you want to use those," I softly asked.
Harry has an entire suitcase of clothes from the motel sitting on my floor, it's best he fills up the space I had. "What about when we go back to the cabin?" he asks. "I'll take some clothes and other essentials there when we leave next week, so we can stay at both places without worrying about anything," I tell him.
"Sounds perfect."
"Now you should leave soon before you get angry Louis," Harry reminds me. Shit, I almost forgot about that for a second. "Yes, I should," I say, looking around for my purse and grabbing it when I found it.
"Get back to me fast, yeah? Gonna miss you," Harry pulls me into his chest, wrapping his arms around my shoulders and me around his waist for a short hug. I love every one of his hugs. "See you soon," I say as we pull away.
With that, I walked outside, slipped my feet into some shoes and grabbed my car keys. The drive to the location Louis sent was a short one, the place only being two streets away from the penthouse.
I parked the car down the street, continuing the line of vehicles that had parked at the side of the road. I grabbed my purse that sat on the passenger seat and quickly got out, locking it before I walked off. As I got closer to the restaurant, I spot Louis standing outside waiting for me. As I got closer, his eyes locked on me, his hand impatiently tapping against his thigh.
"Hey, why haven't you been answering your phone?" Louis questions me as soon as I'm close enough. There's panic and maybe worry written across his face. "Harry muted it before we went to bed, forgot to unmute it. Is everything okay?" I worriedly asked, feeling my heartbeat starting to quicken.
"Sort of? Plans kind of changed..." Louis hesitantly answers, looking more nervous than before. "What's going on, Lou?" I asked. "I told Seraphina that we're having lunch together today and she wanted to meet you," He rambles off the words.
My eyes widened, gathering what he said and quickly coming up with an assumption. "Is she your girlfriend?" I blurted out. Louis relaxes slightly, a soft smile forming on his lips. "Yes," he confirms, his cheeks tinting red.
No fucking way. "Of course! Where is she? I can't wait to meet her!" I squealed, excitedly, trying to look around and behind Louis to see where he was hiding her. "Fuck's sake, Mads. Calm down, she's waiting inside at our table," Louis gritted, trying to avoid the attention of random people on the pavement drawing on us.
"Let's go!" I grabbed his hand and pull him towards the glass doors. "Hey, wait," Louis says and I stopped, pushing aside the excitement for a moment. "I'm happy you're meeting her first...she's been wanting to meet everyone but waiting until I was ready. I think I finally am...ready," He reveals.
God, my heart melts at this. "You've come so far, Louis. You won and I'm so proud of you, always," I sincerely tell him with softened eyes, meaning every single word. "Okay, enough sappy shit. Let's go meet my girl," he dismisses and walks ahead, entering through the doors and I follow.
Smiling to the workers who were behind the counter and distributing food, I continued to follow Louis to a table near the back. There was one table that sat a beautiful girl sitting alone and that happened to be the table he was walking to.
Her ice blue eyes lit up they landed on us, instantly she slides out of her chair to stand beside the table as we made our way to her. "Madeleine," My name comes out of her mouth with excitement and happiness, a look on her face that tells me she was holding back from hugging me.
"Shit, she's gorgeous," I muttered to myself, Louis hearing me and smirking, rubbing his hands together and he nods his head. "Yeah, she is," he proudly says and walks to his girlfriend, easily hooking his hand around her waist.
"Mads this is Seraphina," Louis properly introduces, his smile widening as he says her name. What's that word Harry uses sometimes? Simp? "Hi! I'm so happy to meet you! Really, I'm so excited for this," I say, pointing my hand at them both, referring to their relationship.
Seraphina blushes, avoiding my eyes. "Okay, sit down. People are looking at us," Louis blurts out, rushing to grab his chair opposite Seraphina's and I sit next to her. "So sorry if I'm nosey but I'd love to know how this happened," I requested.
Louis sinks in the chair and grabs the menu to cover his face. Seraphina though, her eyes were lit up and she didn't seem to mind me asking that at all. "Well, I'm a director's assistant and producer. I worked with Louis on one of his music videos so we were stuck hanging around each other," she explains, smiling to herself.
"The first day we met, I thought he was someone working with the crew so I gave him a bunch of orders to do around set. Louis did every single one of them without telling me who he was," She confesses and my mouth drops, looking at Louis.
For some reason, I'm not surprised at all that he did that. "When the director came by and referred to him as the Louis Tomlinson I knew I fucked up. So using my lucky charms I managed to convince him to let me buy him coffee as an apology," she continues, finishing the story.
"You said you would've deleted the footage of the music video if I didn't! That's blackmailing!" Louis reveals, acting offended."Desperate time calls for desperate measures. Had to get you on a date with me somehow," Seraphina shrugs her shoulders, dropping her eyes to scan the menu in front of us.
"Oh, the waffles look amazing..." she notices and I take that as my sign to find what I wanted to have too. Louis somehow summons a waitress to take our orders when we had decided. As we waited for our breakfast to be delivered, Seraphina and I chatted Louis' ear off.
I wondered if he had regretted this because we each started taking turns to reveal something about Louis that he didn't like us saying at all. The aura that Seraphina gives off is one that I loved so much, she easily made me comfortable around her. I was sure that she wasn't going to be just Louis' girlfriend to me. She was going to be my friend too and I knew Daph and Gem would love her.
After eating together, we still couldn't leave, enjoying each other's company. So the three of us stacked our empty plates and ignored that maybe we should be leaving soon. Found it odd that Harry hadn't tried to contact me for the past two hours that we've been here already. I assumed he would've. Speaking of, our nail appointment truly is nearing so I couldn't be staying too long.
The door chimes, grabbing my attention and for a split second, my eyes have control of their own darts to the door. Then I returned them to Louis, zoning back into what we were talking about. Then, my mind replayed what I had just seen and my eyes flickered back to the door. More like who I had seen.
Harry and Zayn walk in together, leaning over the countertop to speak to one of the workers. I watched as they share a few words and then made their way to this section of the diner, Zayn's eyes on the empty table in front of ours.
Harry and Zayn sits down on the same side so that they were facing me and Seraphina. Louis' back was towards them so he hadn't realised they were here. Trying to push aside that they were here accompanied by the swirling millions of questions rushing through my head right now, I returned my attention to Louis and Seraphina.
It was very hard to do that though because my eyes betrayed me again, flicking them back to Harry to find him already looking at me, the corner of his mouth tugging upwards as he catches my eyes on him.
I swallowed, my hands shaking as I reached for the glass of water in front of me to take a much needed sip. "So what's the situation between you and Harry? Are you convincing him to stay in the city?" Louis asks me, taking my attention. So fucking conveniently.
"Well, we haven't really talked about it yet but we will. It's an important conversation but it's hard to decide because I also want to be at his place too. It's nice there, surrounded by nature. Harry likes the city too, he loves to explore so eventually we'll come up with something," I explained, shrugging my shoulders.
With Liam and Max getting engaged, they're going to want their own place too so who knows what will happen. "Yeah, you guys would work something out. I guess being at both places can be fun for a while before you guys get really serious," Louis replies, nodding his head in understanding.
"I take it that Harry is your boyfriend? Louis told me about him too, mostly how he's very stubborn," Seraphina jokes. I glanced at Harry who was saying something to Zayn and then returned them to her. "Yeah, he is," I smiled. Boyfriend? Yes. Stubborn? Yes. Madly in love with him despite it? Also yes.
"Cute. We should have a double date soon or something," she suggests. "Good luck convincing Harry to do that," Louis replies, shaking his head. "There are some very good methods of persuasion that I have up my sleeve. I'll figure out something and make that double date possible," I promised.
Harry wanted to explore all the types of dates, right? Well, double dates are one of them.
A message comes into my phone and I grabbed it out of my purse, tilting it at an angle so no other eyes could see.
From Harry:
Eyes on me.
Easily obeying, my eyes find him again and the moment he was assured I was looking at him, Harry stands from his chair and makes his way through the tables, heading for the hallway where the washrooms were, separated from the tables.
"Excuse me," I blurted out and slid out of the chair, rushing off to follow Harry without trying to draw any attention to myself. Zayn catches my eye, smirking to himself as he notices where I'm going.
I see Harry disappearing into the female's washroom and I mentally facepalmed. I pushed open the door, seeing him there waiting for me. "It's empty," He gets out before sliding his fingers through my hair, bringing my lips to his.
A groan leaves my lips as Harry shoves me against the bathroom door, his body pressing into mine, his hand shifting to the back of my head so it doesn't get hurt. His other hand finds the lock on the door handle and presses down on it.
"Fuck," I breathed out, his hand hoisting up my thigh and he fits perfectly between my thighs, our very clothed centres pressing together in the most teasing way. "Harry," I whined against his lips as I felt his growing hardness, tilting my head back.
"That's my name, love," Harry encourages, kissing his way down my neck, sneaky thing applying pressure to certain spots he knew would leave a mark. "Don't start something you can't finish," I tell him, my breaths coming out short and shaky.
"Mmm you're right," Harry says against my skin, continuing his torture to any bit of exposed skin. When he refused to listen to me, my hands slid into his hair, tugging at the roots and forcing his head away. "Let's leave this for when we're home, yeah?" I suggested.
I forced my eyes to remain on his, not wanting to look at those beautiful lips because if I did, I wouldn't mind him taking me against this door.
"Leave with me, let's go get our nails done," Harry requests, putting his forehead against mine, hugging my body to his instead. "If you want to, of course. If you want to spend more time with Louis and his girl then I guess I can stay in Zayn's company some bit longer," he quickly adds.
"No, I...it's fine. We can go, this can allow me to invite Seraphina to Girl's Night," I decided. We were all finished with eating and just chatting before asking for the bill so I don't think it matters either way. When Louis sees Harry, I know he'd understand.
Harry and I fixed our clothes in the mirror, I ensured that my skin had no proof of our quick make out session before we decided to go back outside. Louis turns his head at the perfect time to catch Harry and me walking out together.
"What the fuck are you doing here?" Louis bluntly asked him as Harry leans over the empty chair beside him and I stand next to Harry. "Hi, good day! You look like you're having a splendid time here however Madeleine is getting late to our nails appointment," Harry states, looking back and forth at Seraphina and Louis.
"Even though it's been great, how about we do a rain check to continue this? I'm very sorry but...nail artists get very upset when their clients are late," he continues. "Oh, Harry shut up," I interrupted him, not wanting them to think that I wasn't grateful for this.
"I'm really sorry for leaving a tiny bit early but Seraphina, you're amazing. I seriously had an amazing time with you here. Next week is girl's night, would you like to join? We usually go out for drinks or something," I hoped, already feeling excited by the possibility of her joining us.
"Of course! I would love to! Moved here a couple of months ago and it's been hard getting to know people. Feels like Louis is the only one I know," she says which a small chuckle.
"And what about me?" Louis asks, giving me an offended look and I blankly stared at him. "You're not invited," Seraphina tells him as if it was supposed to be obvious. And it is. Louis rolls his eyes, then breaks out in a smile, silently letting us know he's only joking.
"Well, Seraphina I'll steal your number from Louis and we'll talk about next week. Really happy to have met you," I say. "Bye! Can't wait to hear from you!" She waves. I touched Louis's shoulder, silently asking for his attention because there was one thing I needed to tell him before we left.
Louis looks at his shoulder and then at me. "I approve," I softly tell him the words that light up a pretty smile on his face. Recalling when Louis and Harry met back at the apartment, I knew I had to say the same words he told me. And I meant it. Seraphina makes him happy and they're good to each other.
"Bye, Lou," I say. He nods at me though he seems to remember something and looks at Harry. "Give me a call later, yeah? Maybe we can do something while they have their tea party," Louis says to him. "Hell yeah!" Harry agrees, loving the sound of that.
"Alright, alright. Bye guys!" I say, pulling Harry away, waving at the two of them. We walked past Zayn's table, seeing him look up from his phone to look at us. "See you later," Harry says, directed at Zayn as we passed the table. He nods his head at us and we kept walking, straight out of the diner and to my car.
This time, Harry sits in the passenger seat, silently telling me he rather I drive today. From the moment the car was turned on, Harry was adjusting the radio to find his perfect station.
On the drive to the nail salon we FaceTimed Liam and Maxon who were loving having the entire cabin to themselves. "How did he propose?" Harry had asked them, he'd been wondering about it since Liam called us that night.
"Little fucker sent me on a treasure hunt in the middle of the fucking woods. Ended up at a clearing with rose petals everywhere, fairy lights wrapped around the trees with our favourite song playing from a music box on a picnic table," Liam says in awe, reminding me of one of those happy, dreamy states.
He turns to face Maxon, smiling widely at him. "Turned around and saw the love of my life on his knees. And no, it was not to suck me off," he continues, pinching Maxon's cheek. "Liam!" Max shouts, covering his face with his hands from us.
"Sounds sweet, Max. Did a good job," I tell him, trying to ignore Liam's comment even though it had me laughing. Maxon slowly slides his hands away, glaring at his fiancé. "Thank you, Madeleine. He's lucky I love him," he says.
After that we were nearing the mall that the nail salon was located in so we had to say our goodbyes, promising to call back when we were back at the penthouse. I parked the car in an empty spot I was so lucky to find near the entrance of the mall. Usually, it takes a lot of driving in circles to find a spot.
We get out and I locked the car, Harry puts the keys in his back pocket and then we walked inside. The mall wasn't busy at all, everyone was caught in their own worlds around us. I slipped my fingers through Harry's and we walked in the direction of the familiar nail salon where we get my nails done.
Thankfully, the salon looked as if it had just opened for the day so we didn't have to wait in line. "Good day, darlings. What can we do for you today?" The guy sitting behind the table with everything neatly placed around him. "Matching nails today please, something simple," Harry tells him, going ahead and sitting on the chair opposite him.
I follow, sitting beside him so we were next to each other, in front of two separate nail artists. "What colour?" Harry asks me. In thought, I glanced at the nail polish showcase they had behind them, my eyes lingering on the perfect yellow colour.
"Yellow, that one," I answered, pointing at the bottle and another worker at the store gets it off the showcase. "Can we get smiley faces on them?" Harry asks the artist. "Of course, you can, hun," he answered.
With that they got started tending to our nails, giving them the proper care they've been missing out on before being able to apply the polish. Attached to the wall to our right where there was a display of nail art, a TV was attached to the wall. A TV that so happened to be showing episodes of Victorious so Harry absolutely loved it sitting there, watching his favourite show while getting his nails done.
When they were finished, they placed our hands under a curved device and when it was turned on, a blue light illuminates our hands. After taking them out, our nails were dried, artists were paid and we left adoring our beautiful matching nails.
I attempted to get a picture of Harry but he hides his face with his hands. "Harry, stop!" I whined and he moves aside his fingers so I could've seen his beautiful eyes. I snapped the picture, grinning at how perfect it turned out.
"Hey, if I get a picture, you get one too," Harry protests, pouting at me. Ignoring him, I walked off and Harry eventually catches up to me. "Lucky I love you," he huffs, throwing a hand around my shoulders and pulling me into his side. Of course, walking through the mall we saw multiple stores that interested us but never one to actually stop until Harry saw a flower shop.
"Look, there's a flower shop!" Harry draws my attention, pointing at the open flower shop across from us. "Come on let's go buy a bouquet. It should be a rule that you should never ignore a flower shop," Harry continues, grabbing my hand and pulling me with him as he walks into the store.
The scent of flowers hits my nose immediately, everywhere I looked had a different type of flowers, so many different colours too. "Carnations..." Harry whispers to himself, leaving me and walking off to a bouquet of carnation flowers. The lady at the front desk couldn't care to attend to us, she just smiles at us and returned to the word search she was doing on a book.
I roam the store, looking at all the pretty roses and tulips. Harry finds me a couple of minutes later, holding a bouquet of sunflowers and red roses. My lips parted in awe, so struck by the beauty of this combination together.
"Both of our favourites. Think I'm going with this one," Harry says, smiling at me. My heart melts at that, he gives me more reasons to love him every day. "Yes, I love them," I say. Harry walks off to the cashier, handing her a twenty dollar bill for the bouquet.
"You got a vase at the penthouse, right?" Harry wonders out loud as we walked out of the shop and towards the exit of the mall. He looks at me as if he just realised he should've asked that before buying the flowers. "Yes, Harry," I laughed, nudging his shoulder with mine.
"I've never done one of these!" Harry says, pointing at the photo booth. I look at it then back at him. "Let's go do one," I stated and grabbed his hand, pulling him towards it. Thankfully, it was empty. Beyond excited, Harry pushes the curtain aside and gets in, putting the flowers gently beside him.
"Come here," Harry commands, pulling my waist towards him so that I was sitting on his lap. I wrapped my hands loosely around his shoulders, fixing myself so I was more comfortable while he fixed the settings for the pictures and pulled the curtain so it was closed.
"Ready?" He asks me as the screen turns into a mirror in front of us. I fixed my hair quickly and then nodded my head. Harry presses the big red button that starts the three seconds timer.
I don't know how many pictures were taken, probably five or six but for every one of them, we wore a different look on our faces, some were incredibly hot and others were us goofing off. The last one in particular though, Harry's hand went to the back of my neck, slipping into my loose hair to direct my face to his so his lips could kiss mine.
It was a soft but messy kiss, one that the camera got a perfect shot of.
When the screen tells us our picture was done, we scrambled out of the booth to receive the pictures from the little box where it ends up at the side of the curtain. When I picked it up, there turned out to be two copies. "One at the cabin and one at the penthouse?" Harry suggests and I fell in love with that idea. "Yes, that's perfect," I say and turned back to inspect the pictures.
My eyes dropped to the last picture first and from the moment I saw it, the butterflies started fluttering inside me.
"You're shining baby, look at that smile," Harry says in awe, pointing at me in the pictures we were smiling the most. Crazily enough, I thought the same about him.
So wide smiles on our faces as we stared at our pictures together, I thought of framing this picture in my room so I could see it every day. With that said, I knew that this was going to be the first of many pictures I will have with Harry Styles.
Hello loves! How is everyone doing? I feel like so much is going on right now. Feel free to message me if anyone has anything to say, I'm here. Stay safe❤️ and thank you for 27k reads! You guys are so good to me, appreciate you so much.
