"Wish upon a star, but do you know what stars are?"

Adelina threw herself towards the metal bars, towards Daniel. When he noticed her he was on his feet and limped towards the bars but winced in pain. His entire face was swollen, both eyes blackened. Daniel had blood dripping down his face onto his clothes that were stained in dried blood.

"What happened to you?" she whispered in his ear while she grasped  his body and wound her arm around his waist. She pulled him with all of her strength close as if trying to pull him out.

She felt an arm circle around her waist and pulled her away from Daniel. She grasped onto the bars with all the strength she could muster, but her grip faltered. She was thrown backward into Asmund's chest.

"You two aren't allowed to touch." Asmund said with a dry tone.

"I really don't care what you want. Look, look at what you monsters have done to him.." she bit back a sob that had been trapped in her throat.

"You guys have practically tortured him." Adelina cried out, glaring in Asmunds direction.

"Remember, I don't have to let you see him. I can just take you back to your room right now."

She sneered at him, anger coursing through her body. 

"Fine. Happy?" She stepped towards Daniel, but didn't let her hands lift up towards him.

"I'm going to go grab the rest of our prisoners. I hope you won't do anything stupid and obey the rules. Remember, we are doing you a favor by even letting you see your family."

Adelina didn't respond as she kept her focus on Daniel's battered face. She felt Asmund's eyes linger on her back before the door slammed, the sound echoing through the room.

When she was sure he was gone, she lifted her hand and reached towards the metal bars. She let her fingertips graze Daniel's arm. She moved her fingers up to his face and caressed his cheek.

"What happened?"

"A-delina" he stuttered

"I never thought I would see you again." Daniel said tears escaped out of his brown eyes.

"I have been worried about you. I don't understand what is happening. I have no idea what they want with us, or me or anyone. Are you hurt badly? There is a doctor here. I can see if they will let you see her."

"I doubt they will let me see a doctor, but don't you worry. I am okay. I was roughed up but nothing I won't heal from. Don't worry about me okay? I am just glad to see you. I'm glad you are okay."
He grasped her soft hands and held them up to his lips, gently giving her fingers a kiss.

A door opened to the right and Daniel dropped Adelina's hands, praying that the guard hadn't seen.

Asmund filed in followed by 3 guards. Adelina watched as her family piled in shortly after the guards had entered. Her eyes began to leak with tears that trailed down her face and onto the concrete floor.

"Mom?Dad?" She ran to them and grabbed both of them, pulling them close to her.

"Adelina." Her dad whispered into her ear.

"You're okay." Her mother said as she began to cry into Adelina's curls.

"I'm fine. Are you guys okay?"

She pulled away from her parents and let her eyes drift over them, making sure they weren't injured.

"They haven't hurt us." Her father said knowing what she was looking for.

"We are fine, honey. What about you? Have you seen Tessa? Molly, Lydia and Irene are all with us but..."

"Tessa isn't with you?" Adelina's heart dropped, feeling like bricks being thrown onto it.

"No..I thought she was with you..I thought they'd keep you both together." Her mother stated,as panic began to rise up in her voice.

"What do you mean you thought they'd keep us together? Mom?" Adelina gasped as she asked.

"Okay, that is enough for one day." Asmund signlaed the guards to come back into the door and they grabbed her parents and pushed them towards the door.

"No..No!" She yelled.

" haven't seen them that long. Please don't do this. Please!" Adelina reached for Asmund and grabbed his hand. She shivered as she felt his cold flesh press against hers.

"You can spend this time saying goodbye to Daniel. I suggest you use your time wisely."

"I love you." She shouted at them before the door slammed behind them. She let her body collapse to the floor and tears spilled from her eyes and onto the ground.

"Adelina, before they come back I need to talk to you." Daniel pleaded.

Adelina crawled over to him, she couldn't find the energy to lift her body. Daniel lowered himself to a sitting position. He held back a wince of pain as he hit the cold concrete floor.

"You must be careful of who you trust in here. There is a lot you need to know and they will try to lie to you and trick you." He said as he took his fingers to wipe away the tears that were spilling from her crystal eyes.

"Be careful..."He started to say, but a door opened and Asmund re-entered the room. He grabbed onto Adelina's hands tighter.

"Remember what I've told you. Don't trust anyone, even those closest to you."

Asmund lifted her off the floor, but her hands grasped at Daniel.

"I'm scared Daniel...I'm scared." Her body began to shake with a violent sob and she held in her arms.

Asmund's rage had been building up as he watched the two embrace. He knew he wouldn't be able to control himself much longer.

"I suggest you let go unless you want darling Daniel to receive more bruises tonight," Asmund said in a tight-lipped tone.

Reluctant, Adelina drops Daniel's hand and released her grip on the bars in front of her. She kept her eyes locked on Daniel while she was dragged out of the room. As the door began to swing shut, she saw Daniel mouth "I love you" to her. 

As the door shut she spun on her heels to face Asmund and his guards. Anger, raw anger was all she felt within her at that moment.

"Can you, AT LEAST, tell me where Tessa is?" Adelina said in a snide tone.

"She is safe. That is all you need to know. Now, back to your room." Asmund spoke plainly. 

"Why! Why must you be so cruel! You're a monster." Adelina began to pound on Asmund's chest. He didn't even flinch as she pounded with all her might.

"I hate you! I HATE YOU ALL. I DESPISE YOUR ENTIRE KIND. I WILL NEVER HELP YOU. I WILL FIGHT YOU EVERY STEP OF THE WAY." She lifted her fist to punch Asmund in the face. He grabbed her hand and lifted her into his arm. His silence suffocated her as they walked through the compound, turning and twisting. When they made it to the doorway to her room, he placed her back on her feet. The door opened, and  without a word, he shoved Adelina into the room. She gasped in shock and turned her body back towards the door as it shut. The lock clicked and echoed in the quiet white room.

"YOU MONSTER!!" She yelled at the door.

She hated them. She hated all of them. She let her body collapse onto the smooth carpet below her and she leaned her back up against the cold wall. She laid her face on her knees and began to sob, again. She didn't understand. She had no idea how her life could have changed so fast. She just wanted, so badly, to go back to the way things were. As she sat there, she felt her body grow heavy from exhaustion. Not having the energy or desire to crawl over to the bed, she laid her head onto the plush carpet and closed her eyes.

Her last thoughts before falling into oblivion were of Daniel.

What had he meant "don't trust anyone not even those close to me"?

And with that, she drifted into a dreamless sleep.

A/N I can't lie, I shed a tear with Adelina. Just broke my heart for her to only get to see them for a short period of time;(
