52. Acceptance

The clock ticked by
And we began drifting away.
Our memories became past,
Perhaps our 'forever' wasn't  supposed to last.

She holds your hand
And you look down at her.
Our time together in the sand,
It seems the waves had
washed it all away.

The smile on your lips,
The happiness in your eyes,
My presence used to be the reason behind them,
But now it's not.

My heart doesn't like her,
But my mind knows
it isn't her fault.
You were light of my dark
And she became the light of yours.

Our ethereal love
Wasn't fated to an eternal destiny.
Today, I accept this.
I accept your love,
I accept my mistakes,
Yet still this heart will belong
only to you till the end.
