"So, where are you two sleeping tonight?"

I stopped munching on my food to look up at my mother with raised eyebrows.

"There's only one other bed that's in your old room, but I don't think you two can fit on that small thing..." She looked around the living room. "Even though your brother was used to it, sleeping on the couch or on the ground could be uncomfortable. What should we do?"

I thought for a moment, imagining us fitting on my bed.

"We should try to fit on my bed. I mean, he's really slim, I'm sure we can work it out."

Why didn't I think of this before coming here?

My mother sighed while scanning Taehyung. "Well, I suppose it could... But if he tries anything stupid..."

He quickly shook his head. "No, of course I wouldn't!"

She giggled and so did my father before he said, "Stop teasing him, honey. You've been doing that all day, give him a break, sheesh..."

I snorted as Taehyung kept blushing beside me.

Tossing and turning in my bed, I couldn't find sleep as my brain couldn't forget about the diaries.

Taking a glimpse at my side, I saw Taehyung sleeping quietly, facing the ceiling, his breath soft and slow.

With a deep sigh, I got off the bed and wore my fuzzy robe before walking out to the balcony and sitting on one of the two stools.

The stars were shining brightly tonight and I watched them twinkle and flicker before me in awe. The stars would help me forget my problems and focus my attention on them all the time.

Or, perhaps I was just a star lover...

I breathed the cool night air, hoping to ease my mind and let go of my worries.

The door suddenly opened behind me and I whipped my head back to find Taehyung rubbing his eyes while yawning.

"Why aren't you sleeping? It's cold outside," he murmured huskily and took a seat beside me.

"You should have worn something before coming out here," I scolded him, seeing how he was just in his white tee. "Come here."

When he came closer, I took off my robe and wrapped it around both of us. Luckily, it was big enough to fit the two of us.

He rubbed his eyes again.

"I just couldn't stop thinking about some things," I whispered, hoping he doesn't ask about it.

"What?"

Ugh...

"Just some... stuff."

I rummaged inside my pocket nervously. There was a mint in there and I looked at the date of expiry. It was fine so I took one and popped it into my mouth.

"Want some?" I offered him and he nodded before taking a few and groggily shoving them in his mouth.

"Why don't you go back inside? You seem really sleepy, Tae."

He shook his head with his eyes closed, pouting. "Tae is staying here with you."

My heart involuntarily squeezed.

I didn't know what came to me when I decided to pull his head and place it on my shoulder.

He snuggled further into my neck contently and I tried to ignore the electric feeling that was spreading through my body.

"Just watching the stars make me feel at ease," I sighed.

He hummed, his breath hitting my neck. "Me, too. I don't know what it is in them that comforts me, but I love the stars and how they shine and adorn the night sky, making it look dreamy..."

I listened to him in silence, feeling more than appeased.

"Life is bleak, repetitive and painful, but the stars provide me with comfort... Because I know that they will be there when I look up, I feel relieved."

He lifted his head up and held my face with his hands, warming my cold skin. I looked into his eyes that were now wide awake.

"Just like you," he whispered, taking me in. "Because I know you will be here with me, I can endure any and every possible pain... Because you're here with me, I can relish in every beautiful moment of life..."

His eyes trailed down to my lips and he leaned closer painfully slowly, pushing my emotions to the edge.

"I finally feel happiness in its true form... and I feel like I want to live..."

His lips grazed mine as he breathed out, "I love you, Rena... more than you could ever imagine. You don't know how many hoops I jump through just to be with you again."

My mind was clouded by his words and I craved his lips against mine.

Fluttering my eyes shut, I closed the gap and connected our lips together.

His velvety cushions felt so soft as they molded against mine so perfectly. My cold lips warmed up by his as they gently caressed mine in an affectionate way.

I could feel my entire soul being enveloped in his, forming a celestial connection that brought us closer than ever before.

All my worries were washed away...

My only focus was him and his love being expressed through his kiss.

My once shivering body was now on fire.

But I still thought that we should go back inside, so when we both pulled back for air, I brushed his messy hair with my fingers and said, "I can sleep without a problem now."

He smiled and placed a kiss on my forehead.

"Let's go inside then."

After taking off the robe, he pulled me on my feet and led me back to the bed.

When we lied down next to each other, he pulled me against his chest and wrapped his arms around me.

All of a sudden, a loud thunder roared through the sky and I flinched in his arms.

"Are you okay?"

I gulped before nodding. "Just surprised..."

"Shall I sing you to sleep?"

I thought for a while but another thunder halted it and I quickly said yes.

He chuckled under his breath and started rubbing and patting my back as he sang softly with his deep, calming voice.

The loud thunders were still continuing to tear the sky apart, but his soothing lullaby was the only sound that I listened to, and sleep found me faster than I expected.
