6 | The twins fight!

Chapter 6 | The twins fight!

~Arabella's POV~

It's been a week since the whole Renge/movie incident took place and for now, everything was seemingly back to normal (by Host Club standards, anyway); we weren't being forced to be in movies we never knew about, Renge went back to France (where she used to live before she came here), and everything was fine.

"Hello, ladies!"

My train of thought was interrupted by Hikaru and Kaoru, who were suddenly standing in the middle of the room getting everyone's attention.

"Who wants to play the Which One is Hikaru Game?" they both said happily. They both had put hats on, so it was harder to tell them apart, because it was covering up the way they part their hair.

"Many ladies have tried guessing who Hikaru was!" Hikaru said.

"But none have succeeded!" Kaoru said. I rolled my eyes.

Haruhi walked past them and said, "That has to be the stupidest game I've ever heard of." as she came over and stood by me.

"Yeah, I have to agree." I said.

Hikaru and Kaoru looked at us. "What? Do you have a problem with it, Arabella and Haruhi?" they asked.

"No." Haruhi said simply.

"We just don't understand how you two are so popular." I said. Haruhi nodded in agreement.

Hikaru and Kaoru fake gasped. "Arabella! Haruhi! That's rude! There was really no need to say that!" Hikaru said.

"Yeah," Kaoru said as they both walked over to us. "I'm disappointed in you two!" he huffed.

"Apparently you two obviously don't understand the advantages of having twins in the Host Club!" Hikaru said.

Haruhi and I looked at each other before looking at the twins.

"Listen up, you two: having a pair of incredibly sexy male twins in the Host Club is a huge advantage! And having us being identical twins as well only intensifies it even more! This way, not only are we amazing looking, but there's the mystery of figuring out which is which." Hikaru said.

"And besides, what girl hasn't fantasized about twins? After all, having two loves is more sexy and electrifying than having just one. You know what they say: two heads are better than one, and in our case, two bodies are definitely better than one," Kaoru said before he turned to our customers. "Don't you agree?"

They all immediately nodded their heads with hearts in their eyes.

I rolled my eyes.

Suddenly, Tamaki came marching into the music room and he didn't look happy. At all.

Well, so much for everything being fine...

Tamaki stomped right up to the twins and got in their faces. "Hikaru! Kaoru! When I made you in charge of the Host Club's website I did so under one condition: that you take it SERIOUSLY!!!" Tamaki shouted angrily at the twins.

"We take our jobs very seriously, boss." Hikaru said.

"In fact, just last night we worked on it until dawn." Kaoru added.

"Oh, really?! Well, was this what you were working so hard to create?!" Tamaki shouted at Hikaru and Kaoru before he shoved a laptop in all our faces.

On it, was a picture of Haruhi... shirtless.

Luckily, her back was facing our faces.

My eyes widened.

There was Haruhi.

With a guy's back.

"Wow! You look great, Haru-chan!" Honey said as he and Mori looked at the laptop.

Suddenly, a mob of our regulars were by our side, looking at the laptop.

"Oooh! I wanna see!!!"

"Let me see...!!!"

"Haruhi looks so handsome!!!"

"How amazing!!!"

Tamaki just seemed disgusted with the whole thing.

"Oh, and that's not all...!" he said before he clicked on another picture on the laptop and shoved it in our faces.

Only, this picture was of ME.

The only difference was that instead of only seeing my back, it showed my front side and THANK GOD I WASN'T NAKED; I was in a bikini instead.

Unfortunately, the bikini I was wearing was a kind of revealing bikini.

My eyes widened wider.

Suddenly, I was stampeded by my male customers who were grabbing at the laptop to see.

Tamaki immediately slammed the laptop shut. "BACK AWAY!!! BACK AWAY, ALL OF YOU!!! I will NOT have any of you see my little girl totally exposed and practically naked!!! It will JUST NOT HAPPEN!!!" he shouted.

Then, he turned back to the twins. "WHEN?!?!? TELL ME WHEN!!! When did you two take photos of Haruhi and Arabella NAKED!!! TELL ME NOW!!!" Tamaki demanded.

Suddenly, he grew silent before having a horrified look on his face.

"You bribed them, DIDN'T YOU?! DIDN'T YOU?!" Tamaki said.

"Oh please! Cut it out, milord! You're imagining things!" Hikaru said.

"Yeah! It's obvious the photos are FAKE." Kaoru said.

Tamaki stopped his rant. "Wait... the photos... are photoshopped???" he mumbled.

Hikaru and Kaoru nodded.

"Of course they are!!! I would NEVER let THEM take photos of ME practically NUDE. Have you lost all your sanity, Tamaki?!" I shouted.

"Exactly! Why, Senpai, would we let THEM do THAT to us?!" Haruhi snapped.

"Although... we must admit..." Hikaru started.

"... Arabella would look rather nice in a bikini." Kaoru added. I glared at them.

"Shut it. That's NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN." I snapped.

Hikaru and Kaoru only shrugged. "Hey, guys can dream, can't they?" they said.

I rolled my eyes.

Boys...

"Besides, we're rather good at photoshop." Hikaru said.

"Yeah, we've got some major photoshop talent." Kaoru bragged.

"You idiots! That's a waste of your skills!!! Have you no shame?!" Tamaki said. Then, he leaned into the twins and added a bit quieter, "And if you're going to do it anyway can you at least photoshop Haruhi into a lovely dress of some kind??? Like in this magazine???"

Haruhi and I both rolled our eyes at this one.

"Don't be ridiculous, boss." Hikaru said.

"Yeah, why don't you just ask her to wear an outfit like one of those?" Kaoru suggested. Tamaki's eyes widened.

"Well... I've never actually thought of asking her before..." he said before he made his way over to us.

Then, he shoved a dress in Haruhi's face. "How does this look, my dear?" he said to Haruhi who just sighed.

"Senpai, quit it." I said simply.

"Oh! Haruhi looks so handsome in this!" one of our customers said as they were still studying the laptop.

"Oh, yes! But I must agree with Tamaki; I would love to see what Haruhi would look like in a dress!" said another.

"Oooh, I know...! He looks so cute I bet he'd look great in anything he wore!" gushed one of them.

Haruhi sighed and turned to face the twins. "You guys, cut it out. Stop making such weird photos of Arabella and I, especially without our permission!"

"Yeah! Just what do you guys take us for, anyway?" I demanded.

Hikaru and Kaoru looked at each other and smirked. "Hm. Isn't that obvious?" they said. Then they leaned into us. "You're our toys."

~~~~~~~~~~
The next day was a free day at the Host Club; which meant we didn't have to host.
But, our customers showed up anyway, probably just to watch us lounge around like they always do when we have a free day.
All we did was just hang out in Music Room 3.
Hikaru suddenly cleared his throat. "As we were saying yesterday, if one is to survive this boring life..."
"... one at least must have himself entertained with his toys." Kaoru finished.
Haruhi and I both shouted, "Cut it out! We're NOT your toys!!!"
"Oh, you want toys?"
We all immediately turned around to see some guy in a black cloak who was sticking his head through the crack of an open door that I had never noticed before.
"If you like toys, you should come to visit my Black Magic Club... We've opened a market place that has black magic artifacts from all over the globe! We're also holding mass around the clock. And, if you visit right now, I'll even throw in a free curse doll... You can have Beelzenef as your free gift!" the guy said.
We all stood in silence for about a second.
"Uh, why is he talking to us through a crack in the door?" Haruhi asked.
"Hey... were those doors always there...?" I asked. Hikaru and Kaoru shrugged.
Kyoya was suddenly standing next to us. "Nekozawa-senpai likes to hide, he doesn't really care for lightly lit places." he explained.
"Don't get involved with that guy, my little girls."
Haruhi and I jumped a bit before we noticed Tamaki was standing right behind us.
"If you do, you'll end up being cursed...!" Tamaki said.
"Do you have any basis for that...?" Haruhi asked.
"Yes... It happened during final exams at the end of the last school year...! Oh...! It's terrifying just to talk about it! On that fateful day, I accidentally stepped on that weird Nekozawa's cursed doll, Beelzenef... Afterward, I took my exam, but the entire test was written in some strange lettering! I looked to the others around me for help and I realized that I knew none of them...! I WAS ALL ALONE IN A DIFFERNET DIMENSION!!!" Tamaki said. We all gasped.
"How scary...!!!" Honey shuddered.
"Did-Did that actually happen to you?!" I gulped. Now, I wasn't one to belive in ghosts or the supernatural, but that just seemed TOO FREAKY...
"That only happened because you were so scared that you accidentally wandered into the Beginning Greek classroom and took their exam instead of your own." Kyoya pointed out.
"NO!!! It was a CURSE! I know because three days later I woke up and my legs were as heavy as lead!!! JUST HOW DO YOU EXPLAIN THAT?!" Tamaki shouted at Kyoya.
"Your legs were heavy because you ran a marathon the day before, remember?" Kyoya said.
Suddenly, Nekozawa stepped in. "You shouldn't underestimate the powers of Beelzenef, the curse doll... All you have to do is write the name of someone you hate on his back. Then, that person is certain to come face to face with misfortune..." he said.
"Wow... This guy really is dark... in more ways than one..." Hikaru said.
"Supposedly, he hates bright lights... I wonder what he'll think of this...?" Kaoru said before he held up a flashlight. Then he and Hikaru sniggered like school girls.
Then, they both turned on the flashlight and shone it in both Tamaki and Nekozawa's faces.
Tamaki and Nekozawa both jumped and screamed.
"AHHHHH!!! YOU MURDERERS!!!" Nekozawa screamed before he ran to the doors he came from, went inside, and slammed them behind him.
"How on Earth could you do such a thing??? Obviously you two don't know the true terror of black magic...!" Tamaki said to the twins, who just both walked away, not really caring at all.
"Ugh, I am so bored..." Hikaru grumbled.
"Isn't there anything fun to do around here...?" Kaoru sighed.
Then, the twins suddenly looked up and said, "Hey, Haruhi, Arabella, we've got favors to ask of you."
Haruhi and I looked at them.
"What is it?" Haruhi asked.
"The next time we have a day off..."
"... could we come over to your houses to hang out?"
"Why would you want to do that?" I asked.
"We're just curious; we want to see where you live..." the twins said.
"No." Haruhi immediately said.
"Yeah, no way." I added, agreeing completely with her.
"Aw, pretty please?" Hikaru and Kaoru begged.
"Uh, NO. You guys are just gonna make fun of us." Haruhi said. I nodded.
I've seen Haruhi's place, and she's seen mine; and they're definitely NOT as big as Hikaru and Kaoru's house.
The last thing we needed was our rich friends judging our lifestyles.
Plus, my brother would probably show up out of nowhere, embarrass me, and ruin their visit anyhow.
Hikaru and Kaoru smirked at Haruhi. "Fine. We'll settle this with a game. If you or Arabella can't figure out which one of us is Hikaru, then your penalty will be the two of us coming over to both of your houses tonight." they said as they put on the hats they wore when they played the Which One is Hikaru Game.
"Okay, so, which one of us is Hikaru?" they said.
I smiled. "This one's Kaoru..." I said as I pointed at Kaoru.
"... and this one's Hikaru." Haruhi finished as she pointed at Hikaru.
"Uh oh! You got it wrong~!" they both sang.
"No, we know we got it right." Haruhi said as she smiled.
"Yeah, you two may look alike, but you're both very different." I said.
Hikaru and Kaoru just stared at us, their mouths opened a bit, probably surprised that Haruhi and I guessed right.
"Haruhi, Arabella, how on Earth did you do that?" one customer asked.
"Yeah, with those hats on, it's practically impossible to tell which one is Hikaru..." another said.
"Hm... How do we put it...? It's kind of difficult to explain... But, Hikaru's speech and actions make him come across as more mischievous than Kaoru." Haruhi said.
I nodded. "Exactly. And Kaoru's slightly lighter voice and the way he some times reacts to things makes him pass off as the more gentle twin." I said.
It was silent for about five seconds before I suddenly heard someone snickering.
It was Kaoru.
"S-Sorry, Hikaru...! I don't mean to laugh...!" he said before he laughed even harder.
"Well I don't see what's that funny. I'm honest, I speak my mind, and I don't hold back. It's sneaky people like Kaoru who are the trouble makers." Hikaru huffed.
Kaoru stopped laughing.
"Don't turn this on me, Hikaru. After all, I'm just going along with all your selfish games." he said.
"I may suggest them, but you're the one that really gets into them, Kaoru," Hikaru said back. "If you hate it so much, then why don't you just stop?"
"Because I'd hate for you to make an ass out of yourself in front of everyone. It was your idea to call Haruhi and Arabella our toys. But, you were quick to make a pass at Haruhi. Admit it, Hikaru, you're actually in love with Haruhi. Aren't you?" Kaoru said.
The entire Host Club gasped. Including me, and excluding Kaoru.
Hikaru gasped the loudest.
"WHAT?!" Tamaki shouted.
"What?! No! You've got it all wrong, Kaoru! Gosh, you're such a freaking idiot!" Hikaru immediately said. Then he chuckled darkly. "Behinds... don't think I don't know about you and Arabella..."
Everyone looked at me.
My eyes widened.
"E-Excuse me?!" Kaoru said surprisingly.
"You heard me; it's YOU who's the smitten one! Don't think no one notices the way you so obviously flirt with Arabella. I mean, just the other day you gave her your uniform jacket for the day as a sign of your overwhelming love for her!" Hikaru said.
I turned incredibly red.
"I only gave it to her because she looked cold! The AC was turned up ridiculously high!" Kaoru shouted.
"Yeah! I was cold, so he offered it to me! THAT'S ALL...!" I studdered.
"Yes! Hikaru, you need to watch yourself! There are some things in this world that DON'T NEED TO BE SAID!!!" Tamaki shouted at them.
Hikaru ignored Tamaki's comment. "Seriously, Kaoru! Don't make lame excuses like that! It just makes me feel more sorry for you than I already do. I mean, it's obvious you need to work on your game, it's weak," he spat at his twin. "And anyway, why in the world would I fall for someone like HARUHI??? She looks like a tanuki!"
Tamaki gasped. "HOW DARE YOU CALL HARUHI A RACCOON DOG?!?!? YOU'LL PAY FOR THAT!!!" he shouted.
"Awesome... This is just perfect...!" a very familiar voice said.
I know that voice...
Suddenly, the sound of a motor was heard.
RENGE emerged from the GROUND on a PLATFORM. "Our beloved Haruhi and Arabella are in the middle of romantic relationships with the Hitachiin twins! Oh, this is magnificent! Just the thought of it could make me eat three bowls of rice...!!!"
"N-No we're NOT!!!" Haruhi and I shouted together.
"Butt out, Renge. You're such an otaku." Hikaru and Kaoru stated bluntly.
"You two are meanies!!! You shouldn't say something like that to your manager!!!" Renge cried.
"But, Renge, I thought you had feelings for Haruhi...?" Tamaki said.
Right after we had made the movie, and after the speech Haruhi gave her, Renge switched her crush from Kyoya to Haruhi in a matter of seconds (of course, not knowing the fact that Haruhi is a girl). So now Renge is in love with Haruhi instead.
"Oh, I do! But I have no problem with Haruhi having a homosexual relationship on the side!" Renge said.
Tamaki sighed.
"I'm confused... We thought you decided to go back home to France, Renge." Haruhi said.
"Yeah." I said.
"Well, I was going to start up a Host Club of my own but I don't think France is quite ready for that yet...!" Renge said.
We were interrupted by Hikaru shouting, "CUT IT OUT ALREADY!"
We all turned to look at him and Kaoru.
"You're the one that always crawls into my bed late at night! Talk about annoying!" Hikaru shouted at Kaoru.
"I only do that because you look lonely! I wouldn't choose to sleep in your bed, you idiot!" Kaoru shot back.
All our female customers fangirled over the fight Hikaru and Kaoru were having.
"Who are you callin' an idiot?! You're the one who sucks at math!!!" Hikaru said.
"Oh yeah?! Well you're failing your foreign language class, you big dummy!!!" Kaoru snapped.
"Uck! The way you grind your teeth is so annoying!!!"
"At least I don't toss and turn so much that I fall out of bed!!!"
"IDIOT!"
"SICKO!"
"YOUR MOMMA WEARS TOO MUCH MAKEUP!!!" they shouted at each other. They gasped at each other.
"THAT IT! WE'RE OVER!!!" they shouted.
~~~~~~~~~~~

The next day, Haruhi and I sat next to each other in homeroom, as usual.

We both figured that after yesterday, Hikaru and Kaoru would have worked their disagreement out and everything would be normal today.

Well, you have no idea how wrong we were.

"You're completely right, Haruhi. They've probably made up by now." I said.

"Yeah, they're probably fine. They probably just shook it off like they always do." Haruhi said. I nodded in agreement.

"So, anyway, did you hear what we're doing in gym today?" I said. Haruhi sighed.

"Yeah... Man, I really don't wanna play dodgeball... I hate that game." she said.

"Who doesn't?" I asked. Haruhi nodded.

"Hey, Haruhi. Hey, Arabella."

Haruhi and I turned to see who had said our names.

It was Hikaru.

Everyone, including Haruhi and I, gasped at Hikaru's appearance.

His hair was PINK. That's right, I said PINK.

I blinked a couple times to make sure I wasn't hallucinating.

When I realized I wasn't, I just stared.

"Good morning." Hikaru said as if his hair looked like that everyday.

"Hikaru... WHAT IN THE WORLD HAPPENED TO YOUR HAIR???" I gaped.

"Yeah, and why is it dyed pink???" Haruhi asked.

"It looks like you were in a vicious fight with a flock of flamingos, and lost!" I said before I snickered. Then I laughed.

Then, I was practically BAWLING.

I was laughing so hard I was crying, tears streamed down my cheeks as I held my sides and tried to contain myself.

It wasn't working.

"Th-Thank you so much, Hikaru...! Thank you so freaking much...! You just made my day...!!!" I said between sobs of laughter. I banged my fist against my desk. Everyone was either looking at me or Hikaru. But, I honestly didn't care.

This is just too much...!!!

"Yeah, yeah, yeah... Very funny... Are you done yet?" Hikaru said.

It took me a minute to stop laughing.

"Seriously, dude, why in the name of God would you dye your hair PINK???" I said.

"Because pink suits me. Don't you think it's cute?" Hikaru said smugly.

It took all I had to control myself from dying of laughter again.

"From now on, I'm the pink-haired twin. I didn't want to be mistaken for that Kaoru for the rest of my life!" Hikaru continued.

He didn't even notice when Kaoru walked into the room.

Everyone gasped again. Why?

Because Kaoru's hair was dyed too... Only his wasn't pink; it was BLUE.

Yep, BLUE.

Everyone in the room immediately stared at him.

"Good morning Arabella and Haruhi." he said.

We just stared. I didn't even have it in me to laugh anymore.

"So... Kaoru's the blue twin, now...?" Haruhi asked me. I shrugged.

"I really just don't even know anymore..." I said.

"Well, I was finally able to sleep in my own room last night!" Kaoru bragged as Hikaru took his usual seat next to Haruhi. "But, I ended up having a nightmare: I dreampt that my stylist dyed my hair pink. It was so ridiculous-looking that I woke up screaming!" Kaoru continued before he took his usual seat next to me.

Kaoru chuckled to himself before Hikaru suddenly leaned across the aisle and pulled Kaoru's chair out from under him. Kaoru's butt immediately hit the ground.

But, Kaoru didn't back down and take it. He did the same thing to Hikaru's chair, causing Hikaru to fall out of his seat and against the wall.

Hikaru and Kaoru then stood up and glared at each other before they both picked up their chairs and threw them at each other.

After that, it was absolute chaos.

Hikaru and Kaoru threw practically everything in the classroom at each other. If it wasn't attached to the floor or nailed to the wall, it went flying over Haruhi and I's heads.

Haruhi and I looked at each other and groaned.

~~~~~~~~~
Soon, it was lunch time.
Haruhi and I entered the lunchroom to eat our lunch there so we could watch over the twins, just to make sure they didn't do anything else stupid.
Haruhi and I usually eat lunch in the hall by the lockers.
But for today, we wanted to make sure Hikaru and Kaoru didn't kill each other.
Haruhi and I watched them as they ordered their food in the lunchline.
"I'll have the A lunch." they both said.
They glared at each other.
"No! Give me the B pasta with the D salad!" they said, again, together.
Their glares intensified.
"I'll take the F cappellini! No, hold on! Make that the French onion soup!"
They growled at each other.
"Ugh! Stop copying me! WHY DON'T YOU JUST LEAVE ME ALONE?!"
"Amazing..." Haruhi said.
"Perfect unison even when fighting." I said. Haruhi nodded.
"I was wondering what all the fuss was about." a voice said.
Haruhi and I turned to see Tamaki with Honey, Mori, and Kyoya.
"I can believe the two of you are still fighting! You two are a disgrace to the Host Club." Tamaki said.
All the girls in the lunchroom gushed over him.
"I swear, if I had a penny for every time a girl swooned over Tamaki, I'd be richer than everyone in this entire school put together!" I said. Haruhi chuckled.
"We've had enough of this! You're both to blame for this fight," Honey said as he approached Hikaru and Kaoru. Then, he pulled a cake out of nowhere. "Hika-chan, Kao-chan, I want you two to make up and go halfsies on this cake! 'Kay? But I want to have a piece too... so I guess we'll have to go thirdsies instead! Huh... But we won't be able to split the strawberry on top though... What should we do? Maybe I should just take it. After all, strawberries are my favorite~! Oooh, I forgot to ask... Hika-chan, Kao-chan, do you like strawberries?" Honey said before Mori picked him up and carried him off.
"You're just making it worse. Leave them alone." Mori said to Honey.
Tamaki's eyes suddenly lit up when he saw Haruhi and I. "Oh, Haruhi! Arabella! I didn't expect to run into my little girls in the dining hall~!" he said happily.
"Well, we were worried about those two." I said before I nodded my head at the twins.
"Yeah, so we followed them here without even thinking. We always bring a boxed lunch and we were just going to eat them in the hall, like we usually do." Haruhi explained. I gave a simple nod.
Tamaki looked down at Haruhi's boxed lunch that she was holding in her hands.
He suddenly looked off into space before blushing and randomly shouting, "I don't care if my boxed lunch is in an embarrassing heart-shape! I will eat it!!!"
Haruhi and I just stared at him.
"Um... what?" I asked.
Kyoya sighed. "I have no idea what you're talking about, but it's apparent that your fantasies are incredibly incoherent." he said before he took his lunch from the lunchline.
"Hey, Haruhi, Arabella, you wanna sit here with me?" Hikaru asked before he took a seat next to us.
"Uh, sure." Haruhi said.
"Hey, what's that? What'd you bring for lunch?" Hikaru asked as he looked down at Haruhi and I's boxed lunches.
"Yesterday's leftovers." I replied.
"And I brought a rolled omelet too." Haruhi added.
"You both wanna switch with me? I had to order something different than Kaoru, so I ended up with stuff I didn't like." Hikaru said before he took Haruhi and I's lunches and switched them out with his.
"Uh... okay." I said.
"Fine with me." Haruhi said.
Then we looked down at Hikaru's tray.
The food looked absolutely delicious.
This is really magnificent... I've never tried anything like this before...
Then Haruhi and I each took a spoon and dug in.
Our faces lit up.
Tamaki suddenly rushed over to where we were. "Delicious! It's delicious, isn't it, Haruhi? I want you to eat like that everyday!!!" he said. Then he turned to Hikaru. "Well played, Hikaru! As a reward I'd like to trade you my lunch for your boxed lunches!"
"No way." Hikaru said.
"Come on, trade with me!" Tamaki said.
"Forget about it." Hikaru said.
"So, Arabella," Kaoru said as he suddenly appeared with his lunch and sat down next to me. "is that any good? How would you like to taste mine?" He then grabbed his spoon, put some of his soup in in it, stuck his fingers under my chin to lift my face up, and tried to feed it to me.
I turned pink.
"U-Um... what are you doing?!" I gulped.
But, the food never made it inside my mouth; mainly because Hikaru leaned in front of me at the last second and ate it instead.
Kaoru froze.
"Quit butting in, get lost, Kaoru. Leave Arabella alone, I think she's made it perfectly clear that she doesn't want to go out with you. So just stop trying." Hikaru said, with the spoon still in his mouth.
"I-I never did anything of the sort...! I mean... It's not like I do want to go out with him...! Just, shut it, Hikaru...!" I said.
Everything was silent before Kaoru gave Hikaru a pissed off look before he slowly grabbed his soup bowl from off his tray...
Then, he suddenly flung it directly at Hikaru's face.
But, it never hit Hikaru, because, at the least second, Hikaru grabbed Tamaki by his tie and yanked him forward, thereby making the soup hit Tamaki's face instead of his.
The whole lunchroom became quiet.
Then, Hikaru and Kaoru threw the rest of their food at each other, along with a bunch of other things that were laying around the lunchroom.
"Hey, Haruhi?" I asked.
"Yes, Arabella?"
"I think I'm gonna eat in the hallway after all. You?"
Haruhi stood up. "Yeah, let's go."
Then, Haruhi and I left the chaotic lunchroom.
~~~~~~~~~~

After school, in Music Room 3, it was another free day for the Ouran Host Club, mainly because we felt that putting our customers in the middle of a Hitachiin twin battle would possibly endanger their lives.

So, it was just us today.

Hikaru and Kaoru were in the middle of another argument when Tamaki said, "Ugh... Don't you two think it's time to give up all this fighting now...? It's driving me insane..."

"What'd you say?! It's driving you insane?! You've got to be kidding me! How do you think I feel right now?! Every time I look in the mirror, I see his face!" Hikaru snapped. Then he turned to his brother. "I'm sick and tired of being mistaken for you, Kaoru! The truth is: I HATE YOUR GUTS!" he shouted.

"You took the words right out of my mouth! In fact, I hate you so much I bought this," Kaoru said before he held up a wooden cat doll. "Beelzenef, the curse doll!"

Tamaki shrieked and immediately backed about five feet away.

"I'm gonna complete the curse, Hikaru," Kaoru continued. "I'm gonna write your name on his back! From this day forward, you will experience NOTHING but misfortune and sarrow...!" Kaoru took out a permanent marker and began writing on the back of the doll. Tamaki shrieked even louder.

That's it, I've had it.

This ends NOW.

I immediately ran up to Hikaru and Kaoru and slapped them both.

They both screamed.

"Will two KNOCK IT OFF?!?!? What do you think you're doing?!" I screamed at both of them before I snatched the doll out of Kaoru's hands.

"Yeah! You don't bring something like this into a petty fight!!! Both of you are at fault here, but what's really sad is that you brought everyone else around you into your huge mess!!!" Haruhi shouted angrily.

"Now apologize to each other RIGHT NOW or Haruhi and I will NEVER let you two come over to our houses EVER! Have we made ourselves CLEAR?!" I shouted.

Five seconds passed. Ten. No one said a word.

Suddenly, the twins slowly smirked.

"So what you're both saying is that if we make up, we can both come over to your places?" Hikaru and Kaoru asked as they circled Haruhi and I.

My eyes widened as I realized what was happening.

I think Haruhi realized it too, because she took the doll from me and slowly turned it over...

And, written on its back, as clear as day, was one word.

And it wasn't Hikaru's name.

It was the word blank.

"Blank" had been written on the back of the doll.

Haruhi and I gasped. Everyone but Hikaru and Kaoru did.

Hikaru and Kaoru high-fived each other before they engaged in a hug.

"Oh, I'm so sorry, Kaoru! Even though I was just sticking to our script, I said such awful things to you! I'm not fit to be your brother!" Hikaru said.

"Don't say that, Hikaru! I was so worried! I couldn't ever live with myself if I ever thought I had hurt you!" Kaoru said.

We all just stared.

"Kaoru! I'll never let you go again!" Hikaru said.

"Oh, Hikaru! Me either!" Kaoru said.

As we stared, Haruhi eventually dropped the doll on the floor, it hit the floor with a small clunk!

"You gotta be kidding! You mean you guys were faking it this whole time?!" Honey shouted.

"We didn't have anything else to do! We were bored!" Hikaru and Kaoru said.

"What... the fuck..." I mumbled.

"They... they totally fooled us..." Haruhi mumbled.

"Yes... yes they did, Haruhi... Yes they did..." Tamaki said quietly.

The next day, the Host Club was open for business, and everything went back to normal.

Well, except for Hikaru and Kaoru's hairstyles.

"Okay! It's time to play the Which One is Hikaru Game!" Hikaru and Kaoru shouted together at our customers.

"I know! The twin with the pink hair is Hikaru!" one girl said.

"We have a winner!" Hikaru and Kaoru said.

"So, are you two going to keep your wild hairstyles even though you've made up? It's much earier to tell you apart that way!" another girl said.

Haruhi chuckled. "Heh, no it's not." she said.

The twins turned to look at Haruhi and I. I smiled. "Today the pink one's Kaoru and the blue one is Hikaru." I said.

"You swapped colors for the day, huh?" Haruhi asked.

Hikaru and Kaoru kept looking at us.

"Nice try, boys. But you can't fool us." I said. Then Haruhi and I exchanged a chuckle before we walked away, leaving Hikaru and Kaoru staring after us.

These past few days are just the days in the life of a host, I guess.

I think I might actually be getting used to being in this school and in this club.

And, that actually might be a good thing.
