Chapter 16 | Snowstorm

--three days later--

~Arabella's POV~

When we left for the airport, it was snowing. Hard.

"Ugh... There's so much ice on the roads..." Mom said as she drove.

"Uh, Mom? Are you sure it's safe for you to be driving in this weather...?" I asked.

"Yes, sweetie, I'm fine." Mom said.

"Will we be even allowed to fly in this weather?" Daniel asked.

"We'll find out when we get there." Mom said.

After about forty minutes of driving, we arrived at the airport.

When we got out of our car, I saw the entire Host Club getting out of their limos in big winter coats and practically huddling for warmth. Well, Tamaki was kind of forcing Kyoya to huddle and Haruhi was trapped in the huddle, but nevertheless, they were huddling.

I tugged on my coat to keep it around my body.

Daniel squinted at the Host Club. "Are those your friends?"

I nodded. "Yep!"

After we got our luggage out of the car, we headed in the direction of the Host Club.

When we approached them, I noticed a figure that looked somewhat like Tamaki.

This must be Tamaki's uncle...

The man who looked like Tamaki smiled and shook my mother's hand. "Hi, I'm Kenji Suoh, Tamaki's uncle. It's nice to meet you!" He kind of had to shout over the loud winds.

My mother shook back. "Likewise!" she shouted over the wind.

Then, we all hurried to head inside the airport.

Kaoru somehow ended up next to me. "Hey, Arabella! Are you excited?" he shouted as we ran.

"Yeah! I can't wait to be in Africa! But I can't believe Tamaki took what we said that seriously!" I shouted back.

"He takes everything that seriously!"

I laughed. "True!"

I suddenly slipped.

Kaoru caught me just in time before I hit the ground. "Are you okay?" he shouted.

"I'm fine...! I just slipped on some ice!" I shouted.

Suddenly, Kaoru slipped too, probably on some ice. I tried to catch him, but it didn't really work. We ended up in an awkward position, practically clutching each other for dear life so we wouldn't fall on our butts.

Our faces were close together.

I blushed. So did he.

Our noses were touching. I could've kissed him if I wanted to.

I looked into Kaoru's eyes, a beautiful golden-orange color. I never really noticed what beautiful eyes he had...

Wait, WHAT?!

I blushed harder.

I slipped again, but Kaoru held me steady. "Easy..."

My legs felt like jello, if Kaoru hadn't been holding me, I would've fallen by now.

"Hey! Are you lovebirds gonna stay out here and freeze to death???" a voice shouted.

I identified it as Hikaru's.

"Shut up, Hikaru!" Kaoru and I shouted in unison. Then we proceeded to awkwardly shuffle inside the airport.

Once we were all inside, we sighed with relief. The airport was warm. However, it was pretty hetic.

Several people rushed all around, probably here for the same reason we were: to go somewhere for Christmas.

We all shook our coats, trying to get some of the snow remains off of them. When Mom was done shaking her coat, she smiled at my friends. "Well, it's nice to meet you all! You must be Arabella's friends! She talks so much about you!" she said.

Tamaki's eyes sparkled. "Really? She does? MY LITTLE GIRL TALKS ABOUT ME!"

Mom gave me a look.

"Don't ask." I said. She just shrugged.

Daniel paced in a circle around Hikaru and Kaoru. "So... you two must the twins Arabella writes about." he said.

Wait, WRITES ABOUT?!

Hikaru and Kaoru's eyebrows shot up curiously. "Writes about?" they repeated. Then they smirked. "Aw~! Has little Arabella been writing fanfictions about us???"

I blushed red. "No, I have NOT!" I stated firmly.

Daniel made a face at the twins. "Ew. No. I mean, I've been reading her diary. There's interesting stuff in there."

WHAT?!

I grabbed Daniel by his coat's collar. "You little rat! You've. Been. Reading. My. DIARY?!"

Daniel shrugged. "Yeah. So?"

Note to self: slug little brother in the stomach as soon as possible (preferably when Mom's not looking).

Kyoya suddenly spoke up. "Arabella has a diary? Interesting. Would you mind sending me a copy of it? If we posted it on our club's website, it would certainly make Arabella more popular. A Peak into the Secret Life of Arabella, that would be a good title." he said.

Note to self: slug Kyoya too.

"Wait! Arabella, have you been writing about us in your diary?" Hikaru said. Then, he smirked again. "Not surprising, we are amazingly handsome!" Then he leaned in real close to my ear and whispered, "But I bet you write about Kaoru the most! Stuff like, 'Oh! Kaoru is so hot and sexy!' or 'Oh! Kaoru is the only guy for me! He's so amazing! I'll love him for all eternity!' Don't deny it."

I slapped him. Hard too.

Hikaru drew back. "Ouch! Jeez!" he said.

Haruhi sighed. "I can't believe my dad actually let me go on this trip with you guys..." she mumbled.

"When do we board our plane?" Honey asked.

Kenji check his watch. "In about ten minutes from now..."

"Is it gonna be okay to fly in this weather?" Haruhi asked.

"I dunno... I guess we'll find out." I said.

Daniel approached Haruhi. "Hey, you must be the crossdresser Arabella mentioned in her diary," he said. "Haruhi Fujioka, right?"

Haruhi nodded. "Yes, that's me," Then she turned to me. "Wait, Arabella, you said I was a crossdresser in your diary...?"

I shrugged. "Well... you kinda are..." I mumbled.

"Now I'm not. I'm wearing a dress and leggings my dad made me wear." Haruhi said.

"In winter?" I asked.

Haruhi shrugged. "My dad's weird, okay?"

Haruhi's father, I had already met him. His name is Ranka, he's kind of a crossdresser like Haruhi... But I believe he classifies as more of a woman than a man... I don't really know.

~~~~~~~~~~~
Ten minutes later, we were on the plane and getting ready to take off.
The snowstorm had calmed down enough to where it was safe to fly.
And, we are flying in first class, which I had never done before. It was kinda awesome. We got to sit in reclining sofa-chairs and we also got blankets if we wanted them.
Unfortunately, I didn't get to sit next to Haruhi; she sat behind me next to Kyoya and Tamaki. Tamaki was obviously thrilled to have his seat right next to Haruhi's.
I got seated right in between Hikaru and Kaoru. Kaoru I could somewhat stand, but after our little "moment" in the snowstorm, it was kinda awkward.
However, sitting next to Hikaru would prove to be... challenging...
My first clue of this was when Daniel (who sat in front of me with my mom and Tamaki's uncle) turned around to face the twins and me. "Hey, Arabella, I've been wondering: which twin is it you like again?" he said.
I turned pink. "Daniel! I don't like any one of them like that and you know it!" I snapped.
"But in your diary--"
"Daniel Hashimoto, you better quit invading my privacy and reading my very personal diary before bad things start to happen to you. Got it?" I hissed.
Hikaru smirked. "Oh, Arabella, quit denying it; it's clear you and Kaoru have a thing going on that you're both not telling us about... A secret affair, perhaps? Or is it a friends with benefits type of thing?" he said before he wiggled his eyebrows.
Kaoru blushed. I blushed harder.
"Would you quit it already?! For the last time, Arabella and I are JUST FRIENDS. Do I need to spell it out for you in a different language???" Kaoru said.
Hikaru sighed. "That's what they all say... right before they fall hard..." he said.
I rolled my eyes. "Sure. Whatever you say, you delusional twin." I said.
"I think Hikaru may have forgotten to take his meds this morning." Kaoru said. He shrugged.
Hikaru scowled at his brother. "Shut it, Kaoru. And if anyone's delusional, it's obviously YOU. Because you're clearly too blind to see how Arabella feels about you and how you feel about her. I've seen the way you two look at each other. Just do everyone a favor and start dating already. God damn."
If Kaoru and I weren't completely red in the face, we certainly were now.
And, when I thought everyone was done making fun of Kaoru and I's "relationship", Daniel spoke up again. "Hey, Arabella, how do you tell the twins apart? They look exactly alike to me. I mean, if you were ever going to date one of them (which you WON'T), you wouldn't wanna go snogging the wrong one." He gave me a quizzical look.
I was practically as red as a tomato by now. Kaoru was doing no better.
I was about to lean over the top of Daniel's seat and give him a good smack upside the head before Mom suddenly turned to face both us and gave us a look that said, "Behave!"
So, I just rolled my eyes and sat back down. Daniel did the same.
But, Hikaru wasn't done just yet. "Kaoru and Arabella, sittin' in a tree~! K-i-s-s-i-n-g~! First comes love~! Then comes marriage~! The comes a baby in a baby carriage~!" he sang.
"God, what are we, in kindergarten now, Hikaru?" Kaoru snapped.
"Seriously, how immature. Even for you, Hikaru. I'm actually surprised at you." I told Hikaru bluntly.
Hikaru just ignored us. "You two need a ship name... Aha! I've got one!" he said. "I hereby declare you two, Kaoru Hitachiin and Arabella Hashimoto, Kaobella...!" he said with dramatic flair.
"Uh... what now?" Kaoru said.
"Kaobella? What even is that?" I asked.
"Uh, you twos' ship name, DUH." Hikaru said.
"I ship it!" Honey called from somewhere behind us.
"Honey, please don't. What did I ever do to you???" I said.
"I certainly DON'T ship it! Stay away from my little girl, you shady twin!!!" I heard Tamaki shout.
By now, almost everyone in first class was looking at us.
I gulped and sunk down in my reclining sofa-chair.
Kaoru just tried to hide his face. "I... I don't know these people...!" he semi-shouted.
"I can already tell this winter vacation is going to give me migraines..." I heard Haruhi mutter from behind me.
"Me too, sister." I mumbled.
"I think this vacation is going to be rather entertaining... Maybe I should record it on my camera I brought; so when we come back, we can show it to our customers and have a viewing party." I heard Kyoya say.
"I agree... This is gonna be fun~!" Daniel chirped happily. Then he turned around and shot me an evil grin.
Oh boy... It was obvious this little "vacation" may be a little bit more than I can handle...
