Duryodhan- Where does Urvi live in Dwarka???

Subhadra shook her head.

Subhadra- No, Prince Duryodhan. She is not from Dwarka. 

Duryodhan's couldn't believe what he's hearing now. Urvi is not from Dwarka.

Duryodhan- Where is she from then???

Subhadra- She is my Bhrata's sakhi from Gokul. (Chapter 7).

Duryodhan- And where is her home in Gokul?!

Subhadra- I don't know... But why are you asking so many questions of Urvi jiji from me?! Hasn't she gone to Anga with you all???

Duryodhan tried to handle the situation.

Duryodhan- Yes, yes. She has gone. I was just concerned that how could your Bhratashree has sent you alone to bring Urvi back. Isn't he worried about two girls travelling alone? Urvi is like a sister to me..I couldn't send her alone with you.

Subhadra- No, no. My Bhratashree is always concerned about everyone's welfare. He never do anything without thinking. And it is I, who insisted on coming here. I have come to meet Prince Arjun. But incidentally he has also left for somewhere.

Karna went to the Hastinapur palace. His mind reeling of many feelings on why all of this is happening to him.

Nobody can understand why all these are happening.

Karna saw Duryodhan and walked towards him but Duryodhan was preoccupied with his thoughts.

Karna put his hand on Duryodhan's shoulder.

Karna- Did you find something???

Duryodhan nodded but he didn't know if he should tell Karna or not on what he was thinking.

Duryodhan- Probably it's not true but...

Karna- But??? What is it Mitra...

When Duryodhan didn't answer, Karna put his hands on Duryodhan's arms and shook him a little.

Karna emphasized.
Karna- What is it?!

Duryodhan was perplexed by his own thoughts. He said impulsively.

Duryodhan- Yesterday... I saw Arjun and today he is gone!

Karna- What has Arjun to do with anything now???

Duryodhan- You don't know but yesterday when Urvi was going from the palace, I saw Arjun. He was looking at her covertly as if... As if he has some feelings for her... I warned him. And today Urvi is missing and at the same time Arjun has gone somewhere without telling anyone.

Karna couldn't believe it. Only now, he was having an amiable relationship with Arjun, this has to happen. He couldn't forget his eyes. It says like we are connected.

Karna- It may be a coincidence!

Duryodhan- Maybe and I wish it is. But... But don't you think it's connecting point from point. Urvi cannot be vanished under the tight security of Anga's palace. No man in earth can come to your place and took the treasure of your life except...

Karna turned away from him in anguish. The love for Urvi and the raw amicability for Arjun are tearing his heart into two. But he trust Duryodhan.with his life. He would never betray him.

Karna- No, don't.

Duryodhan would never dare to put seeds of hatred among his brothers but when he has said that Urvi is like his sister, he has spoken it truthfully. He would never betray his trust for either Karna and Urvi. He was merely stating the obvious, he has seen with his eyes. But eyes betray. He couldn't think of any other reason why Urvi was absent; that the Narayan himself has taken the birth of Shri Krishna and was doing all this.

Duryodhan- After you, Arjun is the only warrior I have seen that could do anything and everything. After you, Arjun is the only man who has the dexterity to act like that.

Karna- Act like what, my Mitra?!

Duryodhan- Mitra... Why can't you see it?! Arjun has abducted Urvi.

Karna's hands clenched.

Karna- What if he didn't???

Duryodhan- What if he did??? We cannot be sure about anything but couldn't neglect this important piece of information.

Karna formerly have an envious relationship with Arjun. He has been overshadowed by Arjun's skills, when he is much better than any other warrior of the Earth.

Karna has always wanted a fair chance against him. To prove that he's the mightiest archer in the world but was humiliated again and again because of his lower caste.

He doesn't think it's true... But if it's true, then...

He could forgive anything but this is unpardonable.

It's the matter of Karna's life and death.

Karna said vehemently.

Karna- If Arjun has abducted Urvi, then...  Even the lord of death (Yamraj) couldn't save him from me. I am going to kill Arjun.

Karna left the palace, followed by Duryodhan.

'I am going to kill Arjun', Karna's harsh words were repeating in Kunti's ears. She didn't know Karna has come but her heart spoke that he has come. And when Kunti was coming hurriedly to see Karna; she heard the words, she prayed always that never should happen.

Kunti only heard Karna's last words that he is going to kill Arjun. She felt dizzy hearing that and clutched the wall for the support.

Her Jyesta son is going to kill his younger brother, why?! God, what game are you playing???

Duryodhan asked for a day's time to gather more information about Arjun.

As he didn't want that any misunderstanding take place because of him. He wanted to be utterly sure about it.

Karna, for the first time doesn't know whom to believe but nodded. He himself went in the search of Urvi in the whole Hastinapur but found nothing. The day passed without getting anything.

The next morning, he went to take bath on the river Yamuna.

After finishing, he was doing Suryānamaskār, giving obeisance to his Deity (Ēshta dev) Sun.

It was blazing so much today as if giving some message to Karna.

Karna said in his heart to Lord Suryā Narayan that he, Karna, has never asked for anything in his life but today he was asking for Lord Suryā's guidance.

Like with his brilliant light, the Sun diminishes all the darkness, Karna was asking him to diminish all the darkness of his mind too, and gives him a way, a pathway for the future. To find his love, his destiny.

The sunrays fall directly on Karna's chest as if giving Karna his blessings.

Kunti saw her eldest son with wrenching heart from her hiding. She wept in despair. What's happening to their lives thought Kunti with a sob.

Yesternight was the most long and tormenting night of Kunti's life. She couldn't sleep at all knowing that her one son was bloodthirsty for her other son. But why?!

For the first time in her life, she feared Karna and her terror of him was heightened by the guilt. The guilt she has committed. All this things are happening because of her. Because she was not brave enough to face him. To see in his eyes and told him that I'm your unfortunate mother.

Kunti saw Karna worshipping the Sun God. He stood there, his arms raised straight above his head, his face lifted to the calescent star. Motionless he stood, chanting the Surya mantra.

Tightness swelled in her chest seeing him. Is she able to face her son, Kunti questioned herself.

She covered her head from the scorching sun and went down on the banks of Yamuna.

Kunti approached Karna slowly and silently, but her heart was pounding loudly. She stood behind him, unmoving. He was so tall and magnificent that she was sheltered in his shadow.

After a while, Karna lowered his arms, then his head and opened his eyes.

And turned around.

He saw a woman of small stature whose face was covered.

Karna walked near her. It was the hour when after giving obeisance (ark/water) to sun, if anyone come to seek him for a favor, he gives them without any hesitation.

Karna asked gently to the lady.

Karna- Who are you, maata. Are you in any kind of trouble?! Please tell me.

Kunti was crying profusely. Her tears flowing on their own accord.

When she remained silent and sobbing, Karna felt a thud on his heart.

Karna- Why are you crying, Maata?! Please tell me. I will do everything in my power to help you. Please stop crying and tell me what's bothering you. I promise to help you.

Kunti trepidly removed her veil. When Karna look at her sobbing form, his heart gives a painful lurch.

It was Rajmata Kunti.

But today, there was no regality on her face. Only desolation and dejection. She looked like a wilted lotus. Her eyes were darkened and puffy due to constant crying.

Karna was already in misery and to see Kunti Maata like this was a bolt of lightning to his soul.

Forgetting about greeting her and all, he rushed to her in two strides.

He spoke to her in utmost concern.

Karna- Rajmata Kunti!!! What happened???

Kunti's heart broken into million pieces. Only now, he was speaking of her as Maata when he didn't know her but after seeing her face, she was no more than Rajmata Kunti for him.

Kunti gazed and gazed at him and made no reply. All this years, she was longing for him, for her first born child; but now when he was with her, she found no solace.

Her guilt was crushing her under its pressure. She remembered that fateful day when she has to float him down the river in a basket. My poor Karna!

Karna voice choked. He asked her again what happened, but she was standing there. Silently. Looking at him with hopeful eyes.

A long moment passed. Kunti dried her eyes. The time has come, she thought.

Gathering her courage, she said in a low voice.

Kunti- Karna!!! I have come here to seek your help.
