Rory brought in groceries for Sheila,
"You really didn't have to do this, honey." Shelia said
"It's fine, besides my classes don't start until 11." Rory brushed off.

"I thought you would have been there to see the reason you're always smiling at your phone." Shelia gave her a look
"No. We don't talk anymore." Rory gave a sad smile
"You broke up?" She asked.

"We weren't actually together." She mumbled and Shelia put her hand on top of hers
"I can handle this. You just look after yourself today." And Rory nodded
"Thank you."

Rory and Elena were walking with Bonnie as she tells them about her dream
"And then, I ended up at the remains of the old Fell's church before I woke up back in the woods." Bonnie finished
"And you always see your ancestor Emily?" Rory asked
"Mhm. Do you believe in ghosts?" Bonnie asked.

"Two weeks ago I'd say no, but now..." Elena said
"Because I think I'm being haunted." She said
"More like a poltergeist." Rory muttered.

"I don't get it. Why Emily?" Elena asked
"Grams said she was a powerful witch back in the Civil War days, and that this medallion was hers. A witch's talisman." Bonnie asked
"And it all started when you got the necklace?" Rory asked.

"I think she's using it to communicate with me." She said
"Okay, what does Grams say about it?" Elena asked
"I can't call her. She's gonna tell me to embrace it. I don't want to embrace it, I want it to stop." Bonnie said.

Then all of a sudden they went quiet and Rory turned to see Stefan
"I'll speak to you both later." She said and they nodded and left.

Rory then turned to Stefan
"Hi." He said
"Elena said you weren't in class, I was a bit concerned."
"Yeah, I got your messages, and I'm sorry I didn't get back to you, but what I wanna say shouldn't be said over the phone." He said.

"A simple 'I didn't kill my brother' text would have sufficed."
"I didn't kill my brother, as much as he deserved it. He has you to thank you for that." He said
"So, what did you wanna tell me?" Rory crossed her arms
"I won't be coming to school anymore. I'm gonna back off and keep my distance. It's the right thing to do." He said.

"Back off from school or from me?" She asked and he looked at her
"It's better this way." He said
"Understood the message." She said.

"You're angry. That's good. It'll be easier if you hate me." He said.

It was after school and Bonnie was driving the girls home while telling them what happened with Damon in the parking lot
"He's bad news, Elena. He really scared me." Bonnie said
"You need to stay as far away from Damon as possible." Elena said.

"I'm trying! He just keeps showing up." She said
"I don't want you to be alone. You're sleeping at my place tonight, we can make a whole night out of it." Elena said and Bonnie pulled over to the side of the road and got out the car
"Whoa! Where are you going?" Rory said and they got out the car.

Bonnie ripped off the necklace and threw it into a field
"Are you okay?" Elena asked
"Now I am. All my problems were because of that thing. I can't believe I didn't do that sooner." She said
"What's your Grams gonna say?"

"Grams isn't the one being haunted by a hundred and fifty-year-old ghost, is she?" Bonnie said
"Okay, then."
"Back in the car!" Rory announced.

The doorbell rang and Rory opened the door
"Hey. Thanks for coming. I wouldn't have called if it wasn't important even though you don't anything to do with me. I'm grateful." Rory said
"I know that." Stefan said.

"Damon needs to stay the fuck away from Bonnie. He threatened her, Stefan." Rory said
"What would Damon want with Bonnie?" Stefan asked
"She has this necklace. Caroline got it from Damon, and she gave it to Bonnie, and now Damon wants it back. He's tormenting her." She said.

"Over a necklace?" He asked
"It's not just any necklace. It has to do with Bonnie's heritage. It belonged to one of her ancestors who lived here during the Civil War... When you and Damon lived here. God you're old." She sighed
"Her name was Emily. She was Katherine's handmaiden, and a witch." Stefan said
"You know about Bonnie?" She asked.

"The first night that I was invited over for dinner, I made the connection." He said
"And now Damon knows, and for some reason he wants that necklace." Rory said putting her hands in her back pockets
"What does it look like?" He asked
"It's an antique iron setting with a-"
"With an amber crystal. I know it. It belonged to Katherine. Emily gave it to her, which means that..." Stefan cut her off.

"What?" Rory asked
"I don't know, but I'm gonna find it out. Let me talk to Damon." He said
"Will he actually tell you?" She asked.

"I'll get it out of him."

"This is like a weird intervention." Rory interrupted the weird silence as she sat with Elena, Bonnie and now Caroline
"I'm sorry. There. I said it. If you want the ugly-ass necklace, keep it. It's yours." Caroline said
"Will you hate me if I tell you I threw it away?" Bonnie winced
"You threw it away?" She asked.

"I know it sounds crazy, but the necklace was giving me nightmares. I had to get rid of it." Bonnie defended
"You could have just given it back to me." Caroline said
"Why? So you could give it back to Damon?" Elena jumped in.

"Screw Damon. Are we doing manicures or what? Who has their kit?" Rory asked
"Mine's in my bag." Bonnie said and Caroline went to the bag
"So, Rory...how long do you think this fight with Stefan's gonna last? Is it...like a permanent thing?" She asked
"I don't know, Caroline." Rory groaned.

"Why are you such a little liar, Bonnie?" Caroline exclaimed
"What?" Bonnie asked
"Caroline!" Elena gasped and Caroline held up the crystal leaving them all in shock.

"I'm not lying to you, Caroline. I swear." Bonnie promised
"It's true. I watched her throw it into a field!" Elena agreed
"Then explain it." Caroline demanded.

"Emily?" Bonnie said to Elena
"Who's Emily?" She asked
"The ghost?" Bonnie gave Elena a look.

"Oh, the ghost has a name now?" Caroline said unconvinced
"Caroline, please." Elena said
"I wonder why she won't leave me alone." Bonnie said.

"What is going on? Why am I not a part of this conversation? You guys do this to me all the time." Caroline said
"That's not true." Elena shook her head
"Yes it is. I can't talk to you. You don't listen." Bonnie said to Caroline.

"That's not true." Caroline disagreed
"I'm a witch." Bonnie stated
"And don't we all know it?" She scoffed.

"See? That's what I'm talking about. I'm trying to tell you something. You don't even hear it." Bonnie said and walked out the room
"I listen. When do I not listen?" Caroline said and Rory groaned.

Caroline walked into the living room where Bonnie was sat on the couch
"Bonnie. Look, it's just not me. I don't believe in the... 'woo woo.' But, if you do, then...okay. I'm in. That's all it takes for me to jump on board, because I consider you to be my best friend." Caroline said
"And I'm saying this, knowing that Rory and Elena are in the kitchen listening to my every word. Look, I didn't know how real this was for you, but I'm listening now. Okay? Elena, Rory, you can come in now. We're done." She said and Rory and Elena walk out.

"There is just way too much drama in this room. So, what do you guys wanna do? I have an idea. Why don't we have a séance?" Caroline suggested
"I don't think that's a good idea." Bonnie said
"Yeah you don't want to fuck around with that. It's why you don't mess with Ouija boards." Rory nodded.

"Come on. Let's summon some spirits. This Emily chick has some serious explaining to do." Caroline said and they all go to Elena's bedroom, they set up candles and all sit in a circle with their hands together.
"What are we doing?" Bonnie asked
"I don't know." Elena said.

"Be quiet and concentrate. Close your eyes. Now take a deep breath. Bonnie. Call to her." Caroline said
"Emily, you there?" Bonnie said and Rory laughed
"Really? 'Emily, you there?' That's all you got? Come on." Caroline scolded.

"Fine, geez. Emily. I call on you. I know you have a message. I'm here to listen." She said and the candles grow stronger, the girls immediately open their eyes and let go of each others hands
"Did that just..." Elena looked in shock at the candles
"Yeah, it just happened." Rory nodded then suddenly Caroline gasps as a breeze draws into the room.

"It's just the air conditioning." Bonnie said and the candles grow stronger again
"Ask her to show you a sign. Ask her." Caroline said but no one says anything
"Emily, if you're among us, show us another sign." Caroline announced, they wait a moment but nothing happens.

"See? It's not working." Suddenly the windows burst open scaring all of the girls
"I can't, I'm done." Bonnie ripped the necklace off and threw it on the ground next to the candles, which blow out.

"Get the light. Please, get the light!" Bonnie shouts
"Hold on. I got it." Elena said and she turned the lights on and they look at the ground
"You guys, the necklace. It's gone." Bonnie said.

"This is why I don't mess with spirits and shit." Rory said.

Still in shock the girls stand at the aftermath of their séance, shocked
"Okay, fun's over, Caroline. You made a point, and I get it. Now give it back." Elena said
"What? Well, I didn't take it. What? What happened?" Caroline said
"I don't know. Nothing. Jeremy, are you home?" Elena said and she walked into the hall.

Bonnie sees the crystal on the floor in the bathroom then she goes into the bathroom and then the door slams behind her
"Guys... You guys open the door! Help me!" Bonnie screams
"Bonnie! Bonnie! What's going on, Bonnie?" Rory asked.

"Bonnie!" Caroline, Rory and Elena pound on the door as Bonnie screamed for help
"Try the other door. I'll check the hallway." Elena shouts
"Bonnie! Bonnie! Unlock the door!" Caroline shouts and the lights flicker
"Bonnie! Bonnie! Bonnie! Open the door!"

Suddenly the door opens to reveal Bonnie with her head in her hands
"What happened? Are you okay?" Rory said
"I'm fine." Bonnie said
"Unbelievable. You were totally faking it." Caroline said.

"Caroline, come on." Elena tried
"No! You scared the hell out of me." Caroline shouted
"Bonnie?" Rory asked approaching her to check for any cuts or bruises
"I'm fine. Everything's fine." She said.

Suddenly Bonnie grabbed onto Rory's wrist
"We need to go." She said and began to walk with her hand still around Rory's wrist
"Bonnie?" She asked as they walked to the stairs while Elena and Caroline follow after them.

"I can't believe I fell for it." Caroline said
"Are you okay?" Elena asked
"I must go." Bonnie said.

"She's leaving. I'm leaving." Caroline said
"It appears that's the same as me." Rory said as she holds up her wrist
"You guys can't leave." Elena said
"I can. I've had enough freaky fake witch stuff for one night." Caroline said.

"Thank you for having me. I'll take it from here." Bonnie said
"Where are you going?" Elena asked
"Back to where it all began." She said and Bonnie pulled Rory down the stairs.

"Bonnie! Bonnie!" Elena called out
"Oh My God! Emily!" Bonnie then turned her head
"I won't let him have it. It must be destroyed." She said and she dragged Rory out the house.

"Wait!"

Emily dragged Rory down to the ruins of the old church
"Why did you drag me here?" Rory asked
"Because you are important to some people. Some like me." Emily said as she sets up something.

"Hello Emily. You look different." Rory turned her head to see Damon
"I won't let you do it." Emily said
"We had a deal." Damon went towards her.

"Things are different now. I need to protect my family." Emily said
"I protected your family. You owe me." He said
"I know. I'm sorry." She apologised
"You're about to be a lot more than that." Damon tried to attack her but Emily used her powers to throw Damon against a tree impaling him with a branch.

He looked down and noticed Rory
"What is she doing here?"
"She is important, anyone tries to stop this from happening. I kill her." Emily said
"Just hang in there, Buddy." Rory nervously 2smiled up at Damon.

Emily walked up to Rory and took her by the hand.
"Emily, don't fucking hurt her." Damon said, trying to move but ended up injuring himself more
"Quiet." She said and she grabbed a small knife and poked Rory with it
"Where did that come from?" She asked.

Then Stefan and Elena arrived at the church ruins. Stefan pulled Damon off of the tree branch
"It hurts. This is why I feed on people." He said
"Stefan." Emily greeted
"Hello, Emily."

"These people don't deserve this. They should never have to know such evil." Emily said
"What do you mean evil?" Stefan asked
"Emily. I swear to God, I'll make you regret this." Damon threatened.

"I won't let you unleash them into this world." Emily said
"Them? What part of the story did you leave out, Damon?" Stefan asked
"What does it matter?"

"Emily, tell me what you did." Stefan said
"To save her, I had to save them." Emily said
"You saved everyone in the church?" He asked
"With one, comes all."

"I don't care about them. I just want Katherine." Damon said
"I knew I shouldn't have believed a single word that comes out of your mouth. This isn't about love, is it? This is about revenge." Stefan said
"The two aren't mutually exclusive."

"Damon, you can't do this." He said
"Why not? They killed 27 people, and they called it a war battle. They deserve whatever they get." Damon objected
"27 vampires, Damon. They were vampires. You can't just bring them back." Stefan said.
"This town deserves this."

"You're blaming innocent people for something that happened 145 years ago." Stefan argued
"There is nothing innocent about these people, and don't think for a second it won't happen again. They already know too much, and they'll burn your little grandwitch right next to us when they find out. Trust me." Damon said
"Things are different now." Emily said.

"Don't do this." He shook his head
"I can't free them. I won't." Emily said and began to chant
"Incendia!"

The pentagram Emily carved into the dirt around her is set ablaze, and flames created a wall between Emily and Rory from Stefan, Damon and Elena
"No! No please." Damon shouted
"Bonnie!" Elena shouted as she ran but Stefan stopped her
"No!" Damon shouted as Emily threw the necklace into the air, and it exploded above them.

Once the spell is complete and the crystal is destroyed, Emily departed from Bonnie's body. Bonnie finally awoke and looked around in horror and confusion. Damon being furious about the deal, bit Bonnie and fed on her.

Elena screams in fear, and Stefan rushed over to pull Damon off of her. He kneeled next to her and checked her pulse
"She's alive, but barely. I can save her." He bit into his wrist and blood goes into Bonnie's mouth healing the bite.

Meanwhile Damon walked up to Rory and held out his hand, she carefully accepted it. He then found the knife on the ground and cut his thumb with it. Before it could heal, he swiped the blood onto Rory's lip, she licked her lips and Damon held up her wrist to see the mark gone. Before Rory could comprehend what was happening he sped off deeper into the woods.

Rory and Stefan walked around the woods as they gave Bonnie and Elena space. They finally found Damon sat in the woods near the church ruins
"Katherine never compelled me. I knew everything. Every step of the way. It was real for me. I'll leave now." Damon said.

Rory turned back to Stefan
"How about I try and talk to him?" She suggested and he nodded
"I'll make sure Bonnie is alright." He said and she nodded.

Rory sat next to Damon
"I'll help you." She said, Damon turned to her
"What?" He asked.

"I'll help you, if that means help you free Katherine, only Katherine. Or if that means going clubbing and finding the most eligible bachelorette to help you get over it. I'll help." Rory said
"Why?" He asked
"Because no matter what at some point you have helped, you have been there for me. I owe you." She said.

Rory stood up and put her hand on his shoulder then walked away, she walked to Stefan as Elena walked Bonnie to her car.
"She's gonna tell her the truth." Rory said
"You sure?" He asked.

"Yeah, but you can trust her. She need someone to know, someone to talk to besides me."
"You shouldn't have to." He said
"Stefan, I know what I said but please don't push me away." Rory looked up at him.
"I can't. I have to leave, Rory. Too many people have died. Too much has happened." He said
"Please. Stefan, please." Tears welled in her eyes
"I have to. Coming home was...it was a mistake. I can't be a part of your life anymore." He said.

"Don't go Stefan. Please...You don't have to. Please, don't go." She said, he kissed her head
"Good-bye, Rory." He whispered then walked away, the pain tearing them both apart
"You're just gonna walk away? Please, Stefan! Stefan!" She shouted.

Rory walked into the house with a tear stained face
"Hi mom." She said quietly, Jenna turned with a smile on her face ready to tell her daughter about the handsome teacher she met when she saw the look on her daughter's face.

"What happened?" She asked
"I've tried to not care, not care about what is happening with Stefan. But I do. It feels like my heart is getting torn apart and I can't pretend that I don't care anymore." She sobbed
"He's leaving." She said.

"Oh, Rory." She hugged her. She held onto her daughter close, the first time in a while she had seen her upset. So she hugged her, held her close.
