"I'm not saying don't date the guy. I'm just saying take it slow." Bonnie said as they got out the car
"There's nothing to take slow and you were the one who said to go for it." Elena mentioned
"Now I'm saying take it slow." Bonnie said.

"Why the about-face?" Elana asked
"It's not an about-face. You're single for the first time in your entire high school career. It's the perfect time to play the field." Bonnie advised
"Maybe she's right. I mean explore the horizon have options. I mean you're hot as fuck." Rory agreed.

"Oh, because I'm so that girl. Seriously, what are you not saying?" Elena asked
"It's stupid." Bonnie said
"Bonnie..." Elena trailed off
"What?" She asked.

"Spit it out." Elena said
"I accidentally touched Stefan. And I got a really bad feeling." Bonnie said
"Is that it? Bonnie." Elena asked.

"It was bad bad!" Bonnie told them
"Is this the whole witch mojo thing again?" Elena asked
"You know what? I'm just concerned. This is me expressing concern about my best friend's new boyfriend." Bonnie said.

"And I love you for it, I do. But I feel good. It's been a hard year, and I'm starting to kind of feel like things are getting back to normal again. And you know what? Stefan is a big part of that, even if it is purely platonic." Elena said and Rory nodded
"Yes, see boys and girls can be friends without having any romantic feelings." Rory said
"See. She gets it." Elena turned to Bonnie who simply rolled her eyes.

"Right. I gotta go." Rory said and walked off before a certain someone could arrive.

Rory was in class when she got a text from Elena.

'Having Dinner w/ Stefan and Bonnie. Gonna try and get them to bond. You in?'

She looked at the message and looked up at the teacher and then back at her phone

'Got a shift at the Grill. I'll try to make an appearance.'

She sent the message and then two seconds later got a response.

'You're the best.'

Rory smiled at the message and then put her phone in her bag and continued with her work in class.

Rory was working her shift when she sees Tyler grab Vicki so she walked over to the couple
"Hey, handsy. She's working. You don't see her doing that while you play football." She said patting the side of his face and walking off to give Jeremy another drink
"You do understand I can't keep giving you a family discount." She picked up the other empty glasses
"Here's a tip." He gave her some money.

"Oh thank you kind sir." She rolled her eyes and went back to the work station to clock out. She then walked back out to see Tyler and Jeremy nearly fighting
"Ty, don't!" Matt pulled him back
"The next time I see you, Gilbert-"
"No, next time I see you." Jeremy said before he walked out the Grill.

Rory then walked up to Tyler, who was still held back by Matt
"The next time I catch you doing shit like that to my cousin. I won't care about who your family is or how old you are." She shoved past him to get her coat and then again while she was walking out the Grill.

Rory entered the house and took her coat off
"Sorry I am late. There was a incident with Jeremy, I threatened the mayor's son. It was a whole thing..." She walked into the living room to see Elena, Bonnie, Caroline and two other people
"What did I miss?" Rory asked.

"Who is this?" Stefan asked
"Right. This is Rory. She's my cousin." Elena said
"Rory, this is Stefan and-"
"Damon." Rory said and Elena looked at her cousin.

"I ran into him while I was on a run a couple of days ago. Like literally ran into him. Actually I did the same thing to Stefan as well... Sorry again." Rory winced
"It's alright. I didn't mind." Damon replied.

"Please, sit down." Stefan moved to the side to give more space for Rory, she took the invite and sat down next to him,
"So, Rory, tell us about yourself." Damon said.

"Well, I'm 18, senior in high school. My mom and I moved down here in May." She said
"I'm sure your boyfriend was sad to see you go." He said
"I um, don't have a boyfriend." Rory shifted uncomfortably.

"Like ever." Caroline muttered.

"You know, I'm gonna get some water and put the dishwasher on." Rory said and walked into the kitchen and put stuff into the dishwasher
"One more." She heard Damon and turned to see him holding a glass
"Thanks." She said and he handed her the glass but drops it; he then caught with ease
"Nice save." Rory chuckled in disbelief.

"I'm sorry if I made things awkward with the personal question." He said
"It's alright. It's true though." She chuckled
"So, tell me more about you." He said.

"Like what?" She asked
"Music choice."
"I like Muse, Queen, Bon Jovi, The Killers, Britney Spears and Lady Gaga." She said.

"Bon Jovi? 80s fan?" He asked
"More like grunge 90s fan." Rory said and he stepped closer to her
"I see." He said, glancing at her lips and then back to her eyes.

"Hey, need any help?" Elena asked and Rory stepped back to see Elena and Bonnie
"Yeah, I'm completely about to fall asleep so..."
"That's okay, we can handle it." Elena said.

"Right, well. It nice meeting you and I've got a date." Rory said walking out
"A date with who?" Bonnie asked
"Christian Grey of course." Rory said, Bonnie and Elena rolled their eyes.

Rory walked into the living room to see Stefan and Caroline talking
"I'm going so I just wanted to say it was nice meeting you, Stefan." Rory smiled, he looked up at her with the warmest smile and nodded
"It was nice meeting you too. Goodnight."

"Goodnight." Rory said and walked upstairs unaware of Stefan's constant eyes on her.

Stefan sat in his room with his diary on the desk
'I don't know what to do. It feels like an invisible string pulled me towards her. The only issue it seems to be pulling Damon as well since he complete enticed by her. He seemed to of only cared about Katherine but the way he looked at her tonight. The way his eyes lit up when she entered the room. It was a spark of light. Of humanity.'

'I thought he would be going after Elena since she looks exactly like her but no, he likes the girl who I have never felt a closer connection to. I want to protect her, the only issue is I don't want to seem forward.' He wrote, he then walks to his shelf to find a box and opens it to reveal a necklace.

Damon sat on his bed with his phone in his hand. He was looking on Rory's Facebook. He was completely and utterly enticed by the girl he had only spoke a couple of words to. He had no idea how he felt this way but the feeling had never felt so right to him.

Dream

Rory was in her bedroom when Stefan walked in, he then pressed his lips onto hers and she kissed him back. He picked her up and she wrapped her legs around his waist, he then sat her down on the bed.

They continued to kiss when she felt lips on her neck, she pulled away from Stefan to see Damon, his eyes met his and he kissed her and she kissed back as she felt Stefan's lips on her neck.

Then she felt Stefan and Damon's lips on her neck, she then felt a sharp pain. Rory glanced at her mirror to see blood all over her neck and Stefan and Damon's face covered in her blood.

Rory screamed in horror and the Salvatores lifted their heads to reveal their dark eyes and they bit into her neck again with her screaming in terror.

Rory woke up with a gasp as she held her neck, the feeling of sweat on her skin. She sat up and then walked to her window and opened it, she then reached for her glass full of water and then went to the bathroom.

Unknowing the crow that had landed on her window.

Rory walked to the football field to see Stefan there. She walked up to him with a smile on her face
"Hey." Stefan smiled at her
"Hi."

"I'm surprised you made the football team. The way Elena explained it you and Tanner don't get along." Rory chuckled
"Yeah, I'm surprised as well." He said.

"Listen, I found this necklace and I know this seems forward but I saw it and thought of you." He said and handed her a box, she opened it to reveal a necklace
"It's beautiful." She said
"It's got a herb scent." He explained,

"Verbena." She looked up at him and he looked at her confused
"I do a lot of at home practices like working moon water and different herbs." She explained
"Do you want some help putting it on?" He asked and she nodded.

She turned and put her hair to the side as he put the necklace on her,
"Thank you." She said
"You're welcome." He said.

"Good luck." She leaned up and kissed his cheek and walked off leaving him with a giant smile on his face.

"Wait, wait, wait, Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Wait. Let's be honest here. In the past, we used to let other teams come into our town and roll right over us!" Tanner started and receive boos from the crowd.

"But that is about to change. We've got some great new talent tonight starting on the offence, and I'm gonna tell you right now, it has been a long time since I have seen a kid like this with hands like these. Let's give it up for Stefan Salvatore!" The crowd cheered
"That have been waiting for us to put a check in the win column, I have only one thing to say to you...Your Timberwolves are hungry. And the central high lions are what's for dinner!" Tanner said and everyone cheered.

Suddenly the cheers dialled down when they heard Vicki shout
"Tyler, stop it! Tyler! Tyler, stop! Stop it! Stop, you're hurting him! Tyler! Tyler, stop! Tyler! Stop it! Tyler, stop!"  Everyone then started to gather around what seemed to be Jeremy and Tyler fighting, Tyler was over Jeremy and kept punching him.

Stedan then approached Tyler and grabbed his wrist
"Hey, he's down! Enough!" He shouted and then Jeremy grabbed a broken glass bottle and goes to hit Tyler, who moves out of the way and he ended up cutting Stefan's hand instead.
"Jeremy, no!" Elena shouted.

"Tyler, knock it off! Stop!" Matt then shouted at Tyler, Rory and Elena went to Jeremy
"What the hell, Jeremy? Put your head up, you're bleeding." Elena said
"I'm fine!" Jeremy argued.

"Yeah, you smell fine." Elena said
"Elena, everyone drinks here. It's Tyler who should learn some fucking self control!" Rory shouted at him and Tyler took a step forward towards her. Jeremy then walked away and Rory walked to Stefan.

"How's your hand?" She asked
"It's fine." He said
"Is it deep? How bad is it? Come on!" Elena said while trying to open his hand. His hand eventually opened to see nothing
"But...I saw it, it was..." Elena said.

"He missed. It's not my blood. See? I'm fine." He said
"No, no, no. I...I saw it. The glass cut your hand. It was..." She furrowed her eyebrows
"It's ok. I'm ok. It's almost kick-off time, all right? So, um, I'll, uh, I'll see you both after the game." He said and Rory grabbed his wrist.

"I'm really sorry." She said
"It's okay."
"And thank you." She slowly hugged him.

"You're welcome."

Rory walked to the car and opened the door, she quickly grabbed her phone when she felt the necklace fall off her neck and onto the seat, she put it into the middle section and closed the door to the car.

"Hello, Rory." Rory jumped and turned to see Damon
"Hi, are you here to watch Stefan play?" She asked
"No, actually I came to see you." He said.

"Really?" She asked
"Yes." He nodded
"And what your intentions of seeing me. You do have an intention, correct?" Rory asked.

"You're right. I do have other intentions, but so do you." He said
"Really?" She raised her eyebrow
"Mm-hmm. I see 'em. You want me." He said and she scoffed.

"Excuse me?"
"I get to you. You find yourself drawn to me. You think about me even when you don't want to think about me. I bet you even dreamed about me. And right now...You want to kiss me." He said looking into her eyes, his pupils becoming dilated.

"How do you do that?" She asked
"Do what?" He questioned
"With your eyes, your pupils became severely dilated, are you okay?" She asked and he looked at her in shock.

"I'm okay." He nodded dumbfounded
"Okay, I don't think Caroline would like her boyfriend flirting with other girls or making comments like that so I'm gonna leave." She said
"It was decent seeing you, Damon." She said and walked off.

Then a strange feeling came over her and she decided the best thing to do was walk home.

A pit in her stomach formed when the words Damon said came back from her.
