Rory woke up and got changed into a sports clothes. She tied her hair up walked into the hallway to see her mom and cousin
"Do I look adult? As in respectfully parental?" Jenna asked
"Depends on where you're going." Elena asked
"Jeremy's parent-teacher conference. Hair up or down?" She asked and put her hair up.

"Sexy stewardess." Rory said and she put her hair down
"Boozy housewife." Elena said
"Up it is. You're feisty today." Jenna said to her niece
"I feel good, which is rare. So I've decided to go with it. Fly free, walk on the sunshine, and all that stuff. Wait, where is Jeremy?" She asked.

"He left early. Something about getting to wood shop early to finish a birdhouse." Jenna said and they both looked at her
"There is no wood shop, is there?" She asked
"No." Rory shook her head.

"Yeah." Jenna sighed and then turned to Rory
"Why are you up? I thought you didn't have classes until later." She asked her daughter
"The past few days gave been blurring together and I barely remember them so... I'm going for a run." Rory said.

"You? Running?" Jenna said
"Yes and if you make any comments about it I will not want to go." She said and her mother put her hands up in surrender
"Got it. Have fun." She said.

"Thank you." Rory said and kissed her mother's cheek
"I love you."
"I love you too." Jenna said and Rory went downstairs and out the door.

Rory ran through the forest while listening to her music when she heard a twig snap, she slowed down and paused her music. She turned to see if something was behind her when she heard a crow cawing and she jumped.

"What the fuck?" She asked out of breath with her chest rising and falling, she looked back up at the crow to see it weirdly staring at her.
"Absolutely not." She said and put her music back on and ran back. The feeling of eyes always on her became more and more stomach turning.

She then accidentally ran into someone,
"I am so sorry." She said looked up at the person, he had black hair and blue eyes
"It's alright. Are you okay?" He asked. For some reason she felt there was an invisible string pulling herself towards him.

"Yeah, just running in the woods it can be scary. Especially crows." Rory mumbled
"Crows?" The man asked
"Yeah, they're so big. No bird that you have to encounter in daily life should be that size." She shivered that the thought.

"I'm Damon." He said and Rory took her phone out to turn off the music
"I'm- nearly late for school. " She noticed the time
"I have to go. It was nice meeting you." She said and ran off.

"It was nice meeting you too." He smirked as she ran off.

Rory rushed into school when she knocked into someone
"I am so sorry. I have no idea what's wrong with me today." She said
"It's okay." She looked up at him.

"Hot back and ass." She whispered
"What?" He asked
"I've really got to go. Sorry again." She rushed past him leaving him in shock. For some reason he felt there was an invisible string pulling himself towards her.

After school Rory made her way to Shelia Bennett's house
"Hi, Shelia." She smiled
"Hi, honey." Shelia smiled at the young girl.

When Rory would visit Mystic Falls she would always spend time with Shelia sometimes even instead of spending time with Elena and her friends.

"Which story shall I tell today as you raid my vinyls?" Shelia asked
"I don't mind." Rory said as she sat down next to the vinyls
"How about a different story." Shelia said.

"I'm surprised you have a different story to tell considering you already have told me about 50 different ones." Rory commented
"This one is about an Queen from many years ago. The story about the Aliena Reginae which is latin for the Mad Queen."
"Ooh." Rory said.

"Her name was Aurora." Shelia said
"Ooh. Spooky."
"It was 10th Century and she was loved by many and she loved many. Through the years a darkness came to her, her father disapproved of her love for many which lead to her having 9 different courtships at the same time."

"Wow. I can't even get a date." Rory commented.

"Then she witnessed her brother kill her lovers one by one. She went to her father about it and when they held discussion about it she murdered her father and brother with a letter opener. Her uncle sentenced her to die." Shelia told. There was a long silence in the room as she sipped her tea.

Rory then turned to Shelia with a questioned look on her face
"Was Elvis as hot as everyone says he was?" She held up an Elvis vinyl
"After all that you ask that? And yes. Yes he was." Shelia said and Rory laughed.

"You know, in the 60s I was 18 and I saw him preform..." Rory then sat on the couch next to her listening as she told the story with a smile on her face.

Rory walked into the house to see Jenna and Elena making ice cream sundaes
"What are we talking about?" She asked
"Mommy issues." Jenna responded and Rory shrugged, then Jeremy walked through the door.

"Jeremy? Jeremy, where were you?" Jenna asked
"More stoner stories? Look, Jenna, I get it, you were cool. And so that's...that's cool." Jeremy responded
"Oh, no, no, no!" She said and threw an apple at him.

"Ow! Why? Why...why did you do that?" He asked
"Listen up! Quit ditching class or you're grounded. No discussion." She said
"Parental authority, I like it. Sleep tight." He said and walked upstairs.

"Now, I'm not saying violence is the answer but I'd smack the drugs out of him." Rory said to her mother
"You can't talk because 1, you're 18, you'd be hitting a minor and 2, you can't talk cause 2 words. Spring. Break."
"Oh yeah. Forgot about that."

"Yeah probably because of what you took and how much." Jenna said
"Okay. I get it." Rory said
"Elena. Drugs are bad." She said to her cousin.

"I got that."

"This is a very productive evening." Rory said as they watch Desperate Housewives and ate ice cream, Elena and Jeremy were asleep and the two of them could just bond
"Very productive." She agreed
"I'm sorry." Jenna said.

"About what?" Rory asked
"About being a total screw up. I mean I'm making mistakes that I shouldn't be making. Is this really how I was when you were growing up?" Jenna asked and Rory turned to her
"Mom, you went from having 1 kid to having 3 teenagers going through 3 different stages. I've always been an independent child and I still am. Elena and Jeremy lost their parents. You lost your sister and brother in law. You're doing amazing." Rory said and Jenna smiled at her daughter.

"I'm so lucky to have you." She hugged her
"I'm so lucky to have you too." Rory hugged her back.

"You know Shelia met fucking Elvis?"
