Rory, Elena and Bonnie were in charge of organising the Mystic Falls High School Carnival
"Katherine looked just like you, it was freakish." Bonnie said as they sorted through the stuff.
"She is my ancestor. Hey, I moved the student booth into the cafeteria." Elena said.

"Your vampire ancestor and she didn't just resemble you like a family member would. She was you." Bonnie said
"I don't know, I can't explain it. It's creepy, that's all I got." Elena said
"How do you know she's not still out there pretending to be you?" Bonnie asked.

"I don't but I could sit here and be tortured by the not-knowing or I could get these prizes to the ring toss." Elena said
"Guys we have to make Caroline proud or she will kill us. I don't know how she does all of this." Rory said.

"Well because she's not human, obviously." Elena said
"Obviously." Bonnie smiled
"Speaking of the inhuman Caroline, I'm gonna visit her and tell her all the proud progress we are doing." Rory said and left.

Rory walked into Caroline's room with a smile on her face
"Hey, baby face." She walked up and hugged her
"Hey, hows the carnival doing?" She asked.

"Better than we expected, wish you could be there though." Rory said
"Actually they're discharging me tonight."
"Really, that's great." Rory smiled.

"Well, you must get back, it's crazy busy I should know. And I really want to gets some sleep before going tonight." Caroline said
"Of course. I love you."
"Love you too." Rory smiled then left.

The carnival had started and Rory met up with Bonnie and Elena
"The ring toss is out of Bart and Homer dolls and Team Jacob T's." Bonnie said
"Okay, I can grab some from the science club. Also we lost a speaker in the karaoke room." Elena said sounding stressed.

"Hey, all good Elena, take a beat, look around. This is a huge success." Rory said
"You mean I can do more than just wreak vampire havoc?" Elena asked
"Go figure." Bonnie said and they laughed.

"Hey, Carter, right? You're with the carnival." Elena said
"That'll be me." He said
"Okay, great." She said and then he turned to Bonnie.

"Wow, what do you need beautiful?" He asked
"What do you know about karaoke speakers?" Bonnie nervously chuckled
"Why don't you show me the problem?" He asked.

"Yeah Bonnie, show him the problem." Rory motioned for her to go
"Okay, come on." She said and they both walked away
"Match makers are a go." Rory gave Elena a high five as they continued to walk through the carnival.

Damon looked at Tyler while he was arm wrestling when Stefan approached him
"You're lurking." He said
"I'm observing." Damon corrected
"More like obsessing." Rory walked to them as they watch Tyler win.

"He's got strength." Damon said
"He's a triple letter varsity athlete, of course he has strength. You're reaching." Stefan said
"I bet I can take you." Mason said to his nephew.

"Enter the uncle." Damon said
"That's ridiculous." Stefan told him and Mason won
"Okay, he's the champ, who wants to go next?" Tyler asked.

"Stefan wants to go." Damon announced
"Yeah, sure, I'll...give it a shot." Stefan sighed
"Give it all you got, our girlfriend thinks he's hot." Damon said.

"Uh correction, Stefan's girlfriend thinks he's hot." Rory corrected
"Still going on about that?" Damon asked
"Yes, I can go on about it until you ask me out. You're my bitch now." She smiled up at him.

"I'm not your bitch." Damon told her
"Really, after this can you win me a stuffed bear?" She asked innocently
"Of course." He smiled.

"See? Bitch." She smirked at him and
"Get him Stef!" Damon patted his brother's shoulder
"You got him." Rory kissed his cheek.

"Do I get one as well?" Mason looked her up and down
"No." She shook her head and Damon wrapped his arm protectively around her waist. They start to arm wrestle and Mason beats him then after Stefan walked back to them.

"You didn't put in any effort at all." Damon scolded him
"Yeah, actually I did." Stefan admitted
"Come with me." Damon said and they all walked into the hallway.

"Is he...?" Rory asked
"No, no, it wasn't that kind of strength but it was more than human, if that makes any sense." Stefan told them
"What is up with that family? They're not vampires, what the hell are they?" Damon asked.

"Ooh, ah, maybe they're, um, ninja turtles!" Stefan joked and Rory tried not to laugh
"You're not funny." Damon said
"Or no, zombies, werewolves." Stefan continued to joke.

"Werewolves would be good." Rory agreed
"No comedic timing at all." He said and then began to walk away
"Where are you going?" Stefan asked.

"To win Rory a stuffed bear!"
"I want a panda!" She shouted and laughed as he nodded.

Things took a turn and Rory, Stefan, Damon and Elena all stood in a classroom discussing the fact that Caroline is a vampire
"How did this happen?" Stefan asked
"Well, I fed her blood and Katherine obviously killed her and A plus B equals..." Damon explained.

"But why?" Elena asked
"Because Katherine is a manipulative, nasty, little slut." Damon said
"No need to slut shame." Rory intervened.

"And she said 'game on'? I mean, what does that even mean?" Stefan asked
"It means she's playing dirty. She wants us to know." Damon said
"But why Caroline?" Elena asked.

"I don't know."
"Caroline must be completely out of her mind, she doesn't even know what's happening to her." Rory said
"Oh I think she does. All of my compulsion from the past started wearing off the minute she was in transition." Damon said.

"Well I bet you wish you weren't a piece of shit back then." Rory said to him
"We have to find her." Stefan said
"Yep, and kill her." Damon added.

"You're not gonna kill Caroline." Elena disagreed
"She knows who we are. She's officially a liability, and we've got to get rid of her."
"Damon, absolutely not." Rory told him.

"Need I remind you of a tragic little story of a girl named Vicki Donovan? Caroline, of all people, will not make it as a vampire. Her mother is a vampire hunter. Guys come on, we all know how this story's gonna end, just flip to the last chapter and..." Damon said.

"It's not an option Damon." Elena said
"No? Your silence is deafening, Stefan. Wait, wasn't there a school carnival the night you staked Vicki? I never had a town where history repeats itself. You know I'm right." Damon said.

"We're not gonna kill her." Elena said and they all went to leave
"It's the only way." Damon said to Rory
"But it isn't." She told him.

Rory, Stefan and Elena were looking for Caroline when Rory noticed something about Stefan and so did Elena
"Where could she be? What is it? Do you hear her? What's going on Stefan, what is it?" Elena asked.

"Blood. I can smell blood." He said and they both followed Stefan to see Damon hugging Caroline while raising a stake to her back but Stefan quickly knocks it out of his hand.
"Stefan!" Damon shouted while Elena walked to Caroline and Rory noticed Carter on the ground with the blood drained out of him.

"Get away from me! You killed me!" Caroline sobbed
"No, no, no, no, Caroline, That wasn't me. You know that. That was Katherine." Elena told her
"No! Then why did she look like you?! And why, why did she do this to me?!" Caroline sobbed then Rory walked over to her and she instantly wrapped her arms around her.

"Stefan, we've got to get her inside." Rory said
"It's alright, Caroline, come with us." Stefan reassured her
"She will die, it's only a matter of time." Damon said.

"Yeah, maybe so, but it's not gonna happen tonight." Stefan said
"Oh, yeah, it is." He picked up the stake and rushed to them when Rory stood in front of Caroline. Damon looked at her then dropped the stake.
"Fine, she lives to see another day."

"Caroline?" Rory and the others turn to see Bonnie
"It's okay, come on." Stefan said and Rory wrapped her arms around her
"No, you're not; you can't be." Bonnie whispered then she went over to her and grabbed her arm.

"Bonnie?" Caroline asked and Bonnie noticed Carter's body
"Oh, god!" Her hand went over her mouth in shock
"Bonnie..." Tears welled in her eyes as Rory and Stefan walked her to the bathroom to wash the blood.

"She hates me! Bonnie hates me." Caroline sobbed
"No, no, she's just in shock, we all are." Stefan said
"And what about Matt?" She asked.

"One thing at one time, let's get this blood off, come on." Rory soothed
"I'm a murderer. I'm a monster." She sobbed
"Look at me, your emotions are heightened right now. It's part of the transformation. it's completely normal. I promise you. Okay?" He promised then her face changed.

"Why does this keeping happening to my face?!" She panicked
"Look at me, look at me, look at me! Caroline, Caroline! Look at me! Look at my face, look at my face!" He told her and showed her his face while it transformed.

"You see that? When you feel the blood rushing, you tell yourself that you're going to get through it, that you're strong enough. Yes, yes, no matter how good it feels to give yourself over to it, you fight it off, you bury it. Watch me, watch me. It's the only way you're gonna survive this thing. Try." He told her and she took a few breaths and her face went back.

"That's good." He told her
"Why did Katherine do this to me?" Caroline asked
"I don't know, I wish I did. Hey, hey, I promise you I will not let anything happen to you. Come here. Come here." He hugged her and then she returned into Rory's arms.

"I'll take you home." She kissed her head.

Rory parked at Caroline's house
"So now you know everything." She sighed and turned to her then Caroline let out a giggle
"So you get to sleep with 9 possible vampire soulmates." She asked and Rory laughed.

"Out of everything I told you my sex life is what is interesting to you?" She asked
"I've already had the depressing conversation and the mental breakdown now we talk about sex." Caroline said.

"Really?" Rory asked and Caroline nodded
"Fine, I've slept with Stefan, we have fully completed the bond that is what this is." She held out her wrist
"Cute!"

"And I may of had a hot make out session with Damon."
"You naughty girl." Caroline teased
"What can I say? Books taught me everything I know." Rory shrugged.

"I'll see you tomorrow." Caroline said
"Bye." Rory waved and waited until she was in her house to leave the street.

Rory removed all of her makeup and was about to change when she got a call from Damon
"Yes?" She asked
"I'm outside your house." He said
"Because..."

"I want to show you something." He told her
"I just took my makeup off." She complained
"You think I care, get your cute ass down here." He told her then hung up.

"He thinks my ass is cute." She whispered then went downstairs quietly then out the door
"Yes?" She asked and he took her hand
"Come on." He lead her to his car.

"Where are we going?" She asked
"Somewhere. Stop asking questions." He opened the door for her and then got into the driver's side.

"Okay." She whispered and he drove her to the school carnival except it was empty,
"We are going to get in trouble."
"You forget I'm a vampire who can compel people to keep the games open." He told her.

"Why are we doing this?" She asked him
"Because I felt bad for not getting you that stuffed panda." He said and dragged her to the ring toss
"Which one do you want?" He asked.

"That one." She pointed to a panda toy and he nodded
"Aren't you just gonna compel for the toy?" She asked
"No, it's better to win it for you. To impress you." He said and she nodded with a smile.

She watched as he landed all of the rings on the bottle and she cheered then jumped in his arms
"Well done." She kissed him
"Beginners luck." He told her.

"We have a winner." The guy said and took down the panda and gave it to Damon
"Rory, this is a token of my affection towards you. Would you please be my girlfriend?" He asked her holding out the bear.

Rory chuckled and smiled while taking the bear out of his hands while kissing him
"Yes." She whispered and he smiled then picked her up and spun her around as they laughed.

It was so quick they were able to forget all of their troubles by just being together.

A moment they were both happy.
