It was Founder's Day and Jenna helped Elena with her dress and tightened it
"Ouch, this dress hurts." She complained
"Suck it in, baby." Jenna said.

"This is why I don't do anything for this town except pour their alcohol." Rory said on the bed
"What a good citizen." Jenna said
"I know they all love me." She smiled up at her mother.

Stefan and Damon stood on the lawn in the square
"What are you doing here?" Stefan asked
"Why wouldn't I be here? Bonnie deactivated the Gilbert invention, Isobel is gone and it's Founders' Day! I'm here to eat cotton candy and steal your girl. Well, our girl." Damon replied.

"Don't start with me, Damon." Stefan warned
"Oh, you started this Stefan with that whole 'I'm insecure, leave Rory alone' speech. I'm enjoying that." He said
"As long as you heard it." Stefan said.

"What? You have no sense of humour, Stefan." Damon told him
"Actually I've no sense of 'Damon humour'." Stefan corrected him.

"'Damon humour'...Hey look, I get it, I get it. I'm the better, hotter, superior choice and you're scared, now that Katherine is out of the picture, that I'm gonna turn all my attention to Rory. But Stefan, Rory and I are soulmates as much as you both are soulmates, you gotta live with it." Damon told him
"I am gonna have to live with it." Stefan agreed as Rory walked up to them.

"Hi!" Rory hugged both of them
"Pre-warning. Elena looks exactly like Katherine since she is in 1800s shit so... contain the eye fucking." She turned to Damon
"The only person I have interest in 'eye fucking' or just in general fucking is you." He said and Rory looked down and cleared her throat.

"Okay..."
"I need to talk to Elena and I think it's best if you're there." Stefan said
"Then let's go."

"What an unlucky bitch." Rory shook her head
"John?! Is that even possible?" Elena asked
"There is no proof, but he dated Isobel when she was a teenager and he was the one who brought her to your dad's office for the delivery." Stefan said.

"My whole life I've never liked this man. I..." Elena was clearly speechless
"Sorry, I'm sorry. I just...I wanted to tell you before Damon dropped it on you on some typically inappropriate way." Stefan said.

"No, I'm happy that you told me, I just...I really hope that it's not true. What I am supposed to do? Do I just...confront him and say 'are you my biological father?'" Elena asked
"I guess, when you're ready." He said.

"I'm never gonna be ready. Stefan, I have enough problems with the family that I actually care about. Jeremy hates me, and why wouldn't he? My journal gave him every single reason to." Elena said
"He's just hurt, he's confused." Stefan said.

"He's never going to forgive me for Vicki, for taking away his memories, for lying to him. The only reason he's not mad a Rory is because she didn't want to go through with it and I wrote that." Elena said
"He's your brother, Elena, he'll forgive you. Just give him some time." Stefan promised.

"And he's a stubborn fuck." Rory shrugged.

Rory stood next to Stefan and Damon as they watch the parade
"Let's give a big hand to the Mystic Fall's high school Marching Band!" Carol Lockwood announced as everyone else clapped
"And for a little local history, Mr. Saltzman's students have recreated Virginia's Battle of Willow Creek." She announced and Rory saw Jeremy and Tyler on the float.

"Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome our stunning Miss Mystic Falls Court and their handsome escorts." Rory then saw Elena and her escort then Caroline and Matt.
"This is Caroline Forbes, Miss Mystic Falls. Aren't they beautiful?" Caroline waved at Rory who waved back.

"Let's cheer for the Mystic Fall's high school football team. Alright! Let's show them our support, everybody!"

Rory poured Damon a drink
"I'm glad you didn't have that type outfit on. Wouldn't suit you." He said
"Is that an insult?" She asked
"Actually, it is a compliment of the highest order." He told her.

"Look, I know Stefan is worried about the soulmate thing especially after he and I completed the bond and I read that after it they become a bit... possessive even with other soulmates that are shared." She told him.

"Did he mention something to you too?" He asked
"No, did he mention something to you?" Rory asked
"No, nothing worth repeating." He brushed off.

"So, I think you should stop with the flirty little comments and that eye-thing that you do in front of Stefan." She told him
"What eye thing?" He asked and she looked at him
"You annoy me."

Rory was walking with Stefan when Damon grabbed her arm
"What are you doing?" She asked
"Saving your life. Fifteen words or less...Tomb vamps are here. Founding families are their target and probably you. Get her out of here, now!" He ordered Stefan and then started to walk away.

"Wait, where are you going?" Stefan asked
"That's more than fifteen words, Stefan." Damon said and then Stefan went to leave with Elena
"Wait, Jeremy and Elena are out here somewhere." Rory said.

"Let's go find them, come on!"

Rory and Stefan were walking to find them when Stefan fell to the ground
"Stefan, what's going on? What's happening?" Rory asked
"My head!" He groaned in pain
"What?" She asked.

"My head!" Suddenly a deputy ran towards him but Alaric went to him and spoke to him
"Hey, I got this one. There's one over there. Take this, go! Go! Go!" He shouted then the deputy left and Alaric walked up to them.

"I don't know what happened, he just dropped." Rory said
"Yeah, he's not the only one. The cops have gotten everyone who's gone down, injecting them with vervain." Alaric said
"They're rounding up the vampires." Rory said.

"Are you okay?" Rory asked as Stefan became better
"It was like needles were piercing my skull and it just stopped." He said and Alaric and Elena walked to them
"I saw at least five vampires go down. They're taking them to Elena's family's old building." He said.

"It's the Gilbert's device. It has to be." Rory said
"But how did he get it to work? Bonnie un-spelled it." Alaric asked
"Maybe she didn't." Stefan said.

"She did, we saw her do it!" Elena shook her head
"No, no, no, he's right. Think about it. We asked Bonnie to deactivate a device that could protect people against vampires." Rory said.

"So we could protect both of you." Stefan said
"And Damon. Vampires. Where is Damon?" Rory asked
"I don't know. I haven't seen him since this started." Alaric said.

"Can you get my brother, take him home?" Elena said
"Of course." Alaric nodded
"Let's go." Stefan said.

The trio walk to John who was standing in front of the building
"Where is Damon?" Rory asked
"With the rest of them, where he should be. It's over for Damon." John said
"You're crazy!" Elena said.

"Why? Because I'm doing what should have been done a hundred and forty five years ago? This is the right thing, Elena." John said and Stefan looked at the building
"Go ahead, you won't make it out. It'll save me the trouble of killing you myself." John said.

"You know the building well, is there another way in?" Stefan asked Rory
"Utility door, there's one around the side. Easiest way to sneak in trust me." She said and they all went to walk when John grabs both of their arms.

"You take one more step and I'll alert those deputies that they missed a vampire." He threaten
"I'm asking you not to." Elena said
"That doesn't mean anything to me." John said.

"As my father, it should." Elena said
"Oh shit." Rory whispered and turned away
"You know." John said.

"I wasn't sure, now I am." She said and they walk towards the building.

Rory and Elena ran to the side of the building to see smoke coming out of the door
"Stefan!" Rory shouted and went to go inside when Bonnie grabbed her arm
"Rory, you can't go in there!" She shouted.

"Bonnie, what are you doing?" Elena asked
"I'm sorry I lied to you." She said and then closed her eyes ad recited a spell
"Bonnie, please!" Rory tried to get out of her grip.

After a couple of moments Bonnie finished the spell
"Bonnie...Bonnie, what is it? Are they gonna be okay?" Rory asked then Stefan and Damon came out.

"Oh my god!" Rory ran to them and hugged them both.

Rory stood at the square when Stefan walked up to her
"The fire is out. The story is the building's old wiring is what caused it." Rory told him
"Did you see where Damon went?" Stefan asked.

"No, he just kind of disappeared." She shook her head.
"Figures." Rory then hugged him tightly
"I'm so glad you're okay." She said.

"I try so hard...to hate him. I guess it's just pointless." He said
"You care about him, so do I. And I know the whole bond thing isn't ideal." Rory said
"I don't want it to end the way things ended last time." Stefan admitted.

"Will not happen. Because this is forever." She kissed him
"I have to go. Elena left her stuff at the school and I need to drop it off for her since she's at Bonnie's." She told him and he nodded
"See you tomorrow."

Damon walked out of the Gilbert house when he saw Rory with Elena's dress in her hand
"What are you doing here?" She asked
"Failed and feeble attempt at doing the right thing." He told her.

"Which was...?" She asked
"It's not important. Let me take this for you." He took the dress from her and her bags
"Thank you." She smiled at him.

"You know, I came to this town wanting to destroy it. Tonight, I found myself wanting to protect it. How does that happen? I'm not a hero, Rory. I don't do good. It's not in me." He looked down at the ground
"Maybe it is." She took his hand and trailed his ring.

"Nah, it's reserved for my brother, and you...and Bonnie...who, even though she has every reason to hate me, still helped Stefan save me." He said
"Why do you sound so surprised?" She asked
"Because she did it for you. Which means that somewhere along the way, you decided that I was worth saving. And I wanted to thank you for that." He said.

"You're my soulmate Damon. I would do anything for you." She told him and he looked at her
"Rory-"

Before he could finish his sentence Rory crashed her lips into his. Damon smiled into the kiss as he kissed her back, his hands trailed her waist as he pulled her closer by her belt hoops on her jeans making her press against him.

Rory gasped as his fingers trailed her exposed skin from her top that had lifted making it easy for Damon to push his tongue into her mouth. Rory grabbed his hair making him groan into her mouth.

"Rory-" Rory pulled away to see Elena standing at the door in shock
"Hi..." Rory cleared her throat then turned to Damon
"Give me 2 seconds." She said and he nodded then Rory took Elena's dress then arm and closed the door.

"Before you say anything-"
"What was that?" Elena asked
"That is what one would call a kiss." Rory said.

"With Damon. Your boyfriend's brother." There was something in Elena's eyes that Rory didn't recognise.
"Technically due to soulmate complications Stefan and I aren't dating. Well there's no label until we sort it all out with him and Damon." She said.

"Wait I thought you were staying with Bonnie?" Rory asked
"I came to get the essentials." Elena said and Rory nodded
"I'm gonna stay over at theirs. We need to have a conversation."

"You mean a threesome." Elena smirked
"Elena Gilbert! I am an angel, I would never. Tell you anything like that." Rory said and then kissed her cheek.
"Bye. Please my mom where I am. Love ya!" She exited the house to see Damon standing there still.

"We need to talk to Stefan." Rory said
"We can do that tomorrow, tonight we will be in my bed cuddling and occasionally kissing." He told her as he kissed her gently.

"If you get too handsy I will put a pillow barrier." She warned him
"Oh please with that hair pulling it won't be me who will get too handsy." He told her and she slapped his shoulder.

"Shut up."

Rory woke up with a groan from a small nap and turned her head to snuggle into Damon
"Wakey wakey."
"No. Too early." She shook her head then her phone started to ring
"Oh for fuck sake." She groaned and answered it.

"Yes?"
"Rory?" Bonnie asked
"Speaking."

"You need to come to the hospital, it's Caroline." She said and Rory sat up
"I'll be there in 10."
"Can you take me to the hospital?" She asked and he nodded.

Rory rushed into Bonnie's arms and Elena joined them
"How's Caroline?" She asked
"She's weak. They don't know if she's going to make it." Bonnie said
"What?" She asked.

"Is there something that you can do? Like a spell or something?" Elena asked
"She doesn't know how, do you?" Damon asked
"No, I don't." Bonnie agreed.

"No, you don't because it took Emily years to learn a spell like that." Damon said
"Well, I can take down a vampire, that spell was easy to learn." Bonnie shot back
"What about me, I resurrected Lexi." Rory suggested.

"We don't know how you did that or if you could do that again. Too risky." Damon said before thinking
"I can give Caroline some blood." He suggested
"No, no way." Elena shook her head.

"No, just enough to heal her. She will be safe in the hospital and it will be out of her system in a day, she will be better Elena." Damon said
"It's too risky, I can't agree to that." She shook her head again.

"Do it. This is Caroline. We can't let her die. Do it." Bonnie said.
"If I do this, you and me, call a truce?" He asked
"No. But you'll do it anyway. For Rory." Bonnie said then left.

"Aurora Marie Sommers." Rory flinched and hid behind Damon
"You're middle name is Marie?" He asked
"Not the time I'm about to die." She said.

"Where the hell were you?" Jenna asked
"At Stefan's."
"Without Stefan? Because was at our house when everything was happening to Jeremy." She said.

"Elena I told you I was at Stefan's and to tell my mom." Rory turned to Elena
"No you didn't."
"Yes I did. Right, Damon?" She turned to Damon who nodded then realised.

"You got to be kidding me." He said and everyone looked at him
"Wait what happened to Jeremy?" Rory asked and everyone went silent
"What the fuck happened while I was away?"

Rory, Damon and Elena entered the house when Elena went upstairs to see Jeremy first
"Stefan?" Rory approached him
"Rory." He hugged her.

"What happened?" She asked
"Katherine happened." Damon said and they all went into the kitchen
"Did she say what she wanted?" He asked.
"No." Stefan shook his head.

"Woman certainly knows how to make an entrance." Rory said
"She said she fooled one of us, at least. What does that mean?" Stefan said
"She pretended to be Elena too when I showed up earlier tonight." Damon said.

"Katherine was in this house, that means she's been invited in, what are we gonna do?" Rory said
"Move." Damon said
"Very helpful, thank you." She rolled her eyes.

"Katherine wants you dead; there's zero you can do about it; you would be dead but you're not. So clearly she has other plans." Damon said
"Again. Thank you." Rory said
"Right and we need to find out what those other plans are and not provoke her in the process. What happened tonight when you thought she was Elena?" Stefan asked.

"To risk another frown line encroaching on a very crowded forehead. Rory and I...kissed and she witnessed the whole thing." Damon said
"What do you mean you kissed?" Stefan asked
"Well, you know, when two lips pucker and they go." Damon began to make kissing noises.

Stefan began to walk to him when Rory stopped him
"Stefan, we were going to tell you but I got a call from Bonnie we will talk about this later." She said
"And she knows about us being soulmates, Elena knew so I said a couple of things when she saw us kiss." She added.

"You didn't know, it's fine." Stefan reassured
"John must know something. There has to be a reason why Katherine tried to kill him." Stefan added
"She tried to kill John. I might love with woman actually." Rory said.

"She's Katherine. She loves to play games and you're fooling yourself if you think you're going to find out what she's been up to before she wants you to know." Damon said
"John could know something through Isobel. Isobel was in touch with Katherine so maybe we can go to the hospital and get him to talk." Stefan said.
"Better take Elena, I might try and smother him with a pillow." Rory said.

"I've got a better idea." Damon said
"What's that?" Stefan asked
"I'm just gonna ignore the bitch. See you." He said and kissed Rory's head before he went to walk out the door.

"Is that smart?" Rory asked
"If Katherine thinks she's been ignored it will lure her out, she'll make a move." He said
"Yeah? And then what?" Stefan asked.

"Stake her, rip her head off, something poetic. We'll see." He said
"I'm gonna go see Jeremy." She said and Stefan nodded then walked upstairs to his room
"Hi."

"If you're gonna give me another patronising conversation like the others, I don't want hear it." Jeremy said
"I'm not. I'm here to tell you everything." Rory said
"I already know everything." Jeremy said.

"Really so you know I'm dating Damon and Stefan at the same time?" She asked
"You're what?"
"Clearly you don't know everything." Rory smiled.

"There's an old story about a queen who had 9 lovers at once. She died and there's a tale where at some point she would bless someone with 9 soulmates and they would live forever."

"And she blessed you, the no experienced virgin." Jeremy asked
"I am no longer a virgin thank you very much." Rory said
"Ew I don't wanna know." He grimaced.

"At least I had the decency to not do it when family was home." She said
"You heard."
"I'm pretty sure people in Austria heard!" Rory said and Jeremy laughed.

"Right. Get to bed." She messed up his hair and left the room.

The next day Rory walked up to Damon once she entered the Lockwood mansion when she noticed someone
"Mason's back?" She asked and Damon turned to her
"You know him."

"Know him? I was practically in love with him when I was 14 to 16." Rory said
"Really?" He asked her
"He's hot. How he was related to the mayor is beyond me." She looked him up and down then Damon cleared his throat.

"You're obviously hotter." She said and he smiled
"But look at him." Rory turned back to Mason who was talking to his sister in law
"He's like how many years older than you?" Damon asked.

"Might I remind you of our age difference?" Rory asked and he gave her a look
"I'm gonna get a drink." She patted his chest
"Have fun." She smiled then walked away.

She went to get a drink when she felt a presence behind her and turned
"You must be Katherine, guessing you fooled a Lockwood to invite you in?" Rory asked
"Hello Rory." Katherine looked the girl up and down.

"Are you gonna threaten me because honestly get it over with this place is overbearing enough." She sighed and passed her the drink and Katherine took a sip before handing it back
"No. I just wanted to know how you felt being with both brothers." She said.

"Well I haven't slept with both of them yet. Only Stefan which was nice, he was really understanding about my virginity."
"You lost your virginity to Stefan? Lucky girl."

"Thank you." Rory smiled
"You're really pretty." Katherine reached out a twirled Rory's hair
"And you look like my cousin so no." Rory stepped away.

"Shame." Katherine pouted
"It was lovely to meet you Rory."
"I would love to say the same." Rory smiled and left.

Rory found Stefan injured and she was able to get a cloth to clean the blood
"You gonna be okay?" Rory asked
"Yeah, it will heal." He said.

"That's not what I meant." She said
"I was trying to figure her out. I was playing along and I let her get to me." He told her and Damon arrived.

"I tried to track her but she's gone. Oooh, cover up, Fabio. We got a crazy ex on the loose. You better watch out, looks like Katherine is trying to steal your guy." Damon said to Rory
"That's not what's happening and besides it might be the other way around." Stefan said.

"What to do you mean?" Damon asked
"Katherine was saying stuff about Rory and how it was very unfortunate that she knew Elena like a relative since they're not related." Stefan said.

"So Katherine's obsessed with Rory?" Damon asked
"Maybe it was one of her tactics." Stefan suggested
"I mean she called me pretty." Rory said quietly and they looked at her.

"I'm sorry but whenever a girl complements me I get really excited." She blushed
"Sorry for being bisexual and in love with women!" She rolled her eyes.

Later, Rory sat facing both Salvatore Brothers,
"So... about what happened." She trailed off
"It was a spur of the moment and we were going to tell you to figure this out." She said.

"I'm not mad, I was but I have to accept this. I mean we completed the bond." Stefan said
"So you're dating us?" Damon asked
"I'm back to dating Stefan. You haven't asked me out and my standards are high." Rory said.

Rory then put the book she got from Shelia down
"I read about it and it does say you get extra territorial and possessive but it also means..." She went quiet
"It means what?" Stefan asked.

"Our lives are tied together. Literally so that means."
"You die, I die." Stefan said
"And vice versa." Rory nodded.

"So if Katherine kills you." Damon said
"She'll kill Stefan in the process and if I complete the bond with you it will be the exact same and we all die." Rory said.
