How They Knew
Bit of a short one to explain how Sabre and Rainbow realized that their souls are connected and all that :>

[3rd Person POV]
There were a few suspicions between them, but neither wanted to look insane to the other, so they stayed quiet.
They had already been through a few cycles after the very first, with both having the same odd deja vu whenever they interacted. There was something more amicable behind the familiar face, as either one often thought to himself, but couldn't put his finger on what.
Something about the other was just always so... strangely known to one, every time a new cycle began. At first, both thought it was just the similar world to the last, but as they went through more cycles the familiarity just became more and more apparent.
On a day like any other, Sabre and Rainbow were in the house, tidying up a bit. Only they were in the house, as Gerald didn't feel like helping with the chores, but they were fine with that.
Rainbow walked into the kitchen holding a crate of carrots to stock up in one of the chests, while Sabre was wiping off one of the counters. Standing at opposite counters, their backs were to each other as they worked.
Rainbow soon noticed, however, that Sabre was quietly singing to himself. A song that he recognized... from another world.
A memory flooded back to him.
...

"That's a really cool song, Sabre! Where'd you learn it?"
"Oh, it was taught to me when I was a kid, by my people. It tells a story of loss and reunion."
"Wooaaahhh. Man, I wish us Steves could make songs like that. Yeah, us Orange Steves are pretty good at it, but I've never heard anything like that."
"Eh, we have a lot of people working on a bunch of stuff at the same time, music no different. Pretty sure there's a lot more of my people than yours."
"How many? Like, is there a number, orrr...?"
"Last time I was at home, it was at seven billion people."
"...What's a billion?"
"Pft- Hahaha!"
"What?"
"Nothing, nothing..."
"Aw c'mon, now you gotta tell me!"
"Ack- Rainbow, don't noogie me, you're pulling on my hair-"
"Sorry-"

...
Rainbow froze for a moment as he continued to listen.
Sabre was none the wiser to Rainbow's realization, until he heard another voice matching the lyrics to the song exactly.
But that would be impossible, unless...
Sabre hurriedly turned around, stopping what he was doing, and faced Rainbow. After a minute, Rainbow stopped as well, and slowly looked at Sabre. They both made shocked eye contact for a while.
"B-But- How, you..." Sabre stuttered, unable to think of what to say. "Is it- but you- We're-"
"Do- Do you remember...?" Rainbow asked, unsure and too shocked to panic. "I..."
"You..."
They both turned to each other face-to-face, both realizing what's going on. It was that moment they knew what that strange deja vu they'd had since they had met, in this world and previous, had been.
Joyful tears start to stream down their faces. They smile, then quickly rush to each other and embrace in a hug they've known for so long. It was as if the world stopped for them, as they both spoke.
"...It's really you."
