HELLO, THIS IS AN EARLY UPDATE BECAUSE THE WEDDING NEEDS TO KEEP GOING.

ANYWAYS, HAVE YOU GUYS SEEN ALL THE COMMENTS ON SOCIAL MEDIA CALLING SHUBMAN SELFISH? IT'S SO HEART WRENCHING. I DON'T KNOW HOW HE MUST BE FEELING AFTER READING THEM?🥺

AND I THINK THAT IT'S NOT SELFISHNESS BUT JUST BUSINESS.

EVEN IF YOU HAVE A JOB, YOU PROCEED TO TAKE MAXIMUM CREDIT, WHAT'S WRONG IF IT'S IMPORTANT FOR HIS CAREER?

(IDFC IF HE'S RIGHT OR WRONG, I'M ALWAYS GONNA BE WITH HIM.)

SO LET'S COMPLETE THE WEDDING!!!

ENJOY!

🎀

Shubman's pov:

I checked my fancy wristwatch, it's already 6:30.....where is she?

I'm standing at the altar waiting for her. I can't wait for this moment, feels like I'm finally living my dream.

My life is excellent right now.....I'm gonna get married to the love of my life, grow and build my own family with her.

Just then, the tune of an English song starts to play on the pianoforte.

The door opened and I saw the most exquisite sight of her.

She is adorned in a scarlet lehenga (it's a colour that shahneel told me exists...otherwise it would be red or orange for me).

Has a red veil on her head, on which sat a head jwellery. Idk the name😅.

And the makeup was not too unrecognizable, it just enhanced her beauty....not that she needs makeup to draw features on her face....she's already good looking.

The makeup is anyways gonna get wiped soon....hehe.

I smirked and looked down and saw her also looking down.

She has a bright bouquet in her hands, not more beautiful than herself.

She is the prettiest flower in the garden of my life.

I gulped down the emotions I was feeling and walked towards her to pull her into a hug.

Ad we separated, I saw her wiping the tears with her one finger.

God....she's looking so pretty.....

We walked to the altar and gave our speeches.

As she finished hers....I was in tears, feeling my eyes get teary, I scrunched my eyebrows and gulped.

Ab sabke saamne rounga toh kya bolenge sab?

Aashna and Shahneel has been telling me from long that I need to be more expressive and not bottle up my emotions....but since I was a kid, I've been taught by mom and dad that....'ladka hokar rota hai?'

So that's how I'm like this.

We kissed after the varmala.

Then everyone came up to the stage to click pictures with us.

As we were sitting, I saw bear make his way over to us looking very radiant in the scarlet kurta that matched Aashna's lehenga.

"Babu!!! Idhar aao jaldi, come here!" Aashna called out to her with hand gestures and he made his way to us smiling.

I didn't understood how dogs could smile but that changed when I saw him smile.

He jumped on the sofa between us and rested his face and hands on Aashna's lap while keeping his back legs on my legs.

Wow, kutta hokar kya life hai?

We clicked a few pictures with him.

Aashna's pov:

It was soon time for the other rituals as the clock striked 7:30.

We got up from the place and made our way to the mandap setting.

I had seen a lot of weddings where they put up chairs in the mandap area.

But I wanted to be traditional so we sat down with out legs crossed.

As we sat, I saw the pandit ji prepare everything for the havan(holy fire)

Already itni garmi hai...upar se you'd know how excruciating it is to sit in front of a huge havan if you've ever....

"Baby, you alright?" I heard shubman say.

Shooting him a small smile, "I am, are you?" I asked.

"Yeah....I forgot to tell you that....you are looking like the prettiest thing in the entire world..." He said again.

I giggled silently, "You too....looking exceptional!" I said.

"Exceptional huh? Abhi bataun!" He said tickling my bare waist under the dupatta.

I screamed very shortly and flinched, holding his hand with my own, "Mat karo mai sabko tumhare secrets bta dungi!" I threatened jokingly pointing my long finger at his face.

"Oh ho! Kya kar rhe ho tum log?" We heard and looked at my grandmother who had a tight lip.

"Kuchh nhi ammaji...." Shubman said holding my finger lovingly that was still pointed at him and sitting gracefully.

"Itne bade ho gaye lekin abhi tak akal nhi aayi in dono mai." Shubman's grandma said to us.

"Arey dadi...come on yaar...ab thoda maza toh kar lene do apni shaadi mai." He said...and it's good that he said before I said something. Because even if I would've said the same thing, fir in logon ko bura lag jaana tha.

Beta kare toh koi baat nhi, lekin bahu kare toh problem ho jaani thi. *sighs*

So the pandit ji was giving instructions to us and we were following the rituals.

As the time came for the Kanyadaan.

Mom and dad stepped up for it.....and I just didn't feel like it....plus I saw my bua standing in a corner, holding the pallu of her saree to her chest.

"Ek minute.....I want that....bua bhi aap logon ke saath mera kanyadaan karein." I said making everyone stare at me in shock and gasp.

I could hear the voices of whispers as bua stepped forward.

Mom and dad looked at me tight lipped.

I could see burning frustration in mom's eyes. But I can't let her ruin my day.

Bua sat down beside dad the ritual of kanyadaan began.

Below my left hand, was bua's hand, followed by mom and dad.

Some grass type thing was placed in my left hand and as indtructed, Shubman placed his right hand under all of ours.

Holding an empty utensil under our hands, Aarya poured water from a lota which also had rice, turf and chandan in it while the pandit ji chanted mantras.

This is so emotional, I'm gonna cry.

Then they placed my right hand in Shubman's right hand and withdrew their own, we exchanged a glance which went on for 5 seconds, silently exchanging our emotions with each other before the pandit ji interrupted us to close our eyes and feel the mantras.

Then it was time for gathbandhan. So Shahneel di took the ends of our dupattas and put some stuff as instructed and began to tie the knot.

Someone said from the back, "Tightly!" Who? Idk?

"Don't worry, itna tight bandha hai ki kabhi nhi khulega!" She said making us smile.

Then we performed the havan with all kinds of strange stuff that I didn't know what is. Like offering puffed rice soaked in.....ghee?

So after the havan was over, we did another ritual in which we had to hold hands and pray while the pandit ji chanted more mantras.

After that, it was finally time for the pheras. And tbh, I was excited for this.

So we were gonna stand up and Shubman offered his hand to me helping me to stand up in that heavy lehenga.

At that time Shubman's mom was advised to leave as the groom's mother cannot see the phere.

I was leading him for the first 3 rounds, and for the last 4 rounds  he came in front of me, holding my hand and leading me, at last, I stepped at the side of him.

During the pheras, I kept on wiping and blinking my tears...because, well it's still so overwhelming.

Then for the satapadi ritual, we stepped 7 times forward on grass with the said promises.

We stepped back to the mandap where we sat and the pandit ji announced that Shubman had to put mangalsutra around my neck.

A smile made its way to my face as I saw the design on the mangalsutra.

He knows I love butterfly necklaces.

Then he came closer to me and hooked the mangalsutra behind my neck, fixing the pallu on my head as he pulled back.

"Ab sindoor daan karenge!" Pandit ji said.

Shubman picked up a gold coin and picked up some sindoor in it.

Lifting my mathapatti with his free hand, he slowly filled the sindoor in my partition.

It didn't fall on my nose the first time...nor the second time.

But the third time he did, we held each other's gaze and I batted my lashes as the sindoor fell on my nose, letting out a stray tear out of my right eye.

"Vivaah sampann hua, aaj se aap dono pati patni, apne badon ka aashirvaad lijiye, agle saat janam tak aapka bandhan atoot rahega"

"We did it..." I whispered to him.

"Yes we did..." He whispered back, leaning in and pecking my lips almost platonically.

Pucchi toh de rha hai, lekin mummy papa ke saamne mujhe sharam aati hai!🥲👉🏻👈🏻

"Shall we?" He said offering his hand to me.

I took his hand and we got up and moved to our grandparents first, bending down and touching their feet, then our parents, relatives and funnily enough though, we had to touch Shahneel di's feet too, as she was older than Shubman.

"Welcome to the family!!!!" His cousins shouted and they called the dhol too.

I caught Shubman's attention by drawing circles on the back of his hand.

"Kya hua." He said softly caressing my cheek.

"I'm hungry.....can we eat....?" Making puppy eyes, I said shyly for only him to hear.

Shaadi jaye bhaad mai, mujhe toh tasty khaana khana hai!

"Of course! I'm hungry too..." He said.

We made arrangements and the crowd cleared soon enough.

We sat down on the table next to each other which was filled with all kinds of delicacies bringing a lot of water to my mouth.

"What are you guys waiting for?? Start already, aren't you guys hungry?" Shahneel di said and moved back to the other table.

So we had decided that we would eat on a separate table, away from everyone so that we can eat openly without getting shy.

Cause people are so quick to judge.

"Shubman this looks so good!" I said to him excitedly.

"I swear I've never seen you look at me the way you look at food..." He said.

"Accha? Don't you dare compare yourself with food!" I warned him playfully.

Shaking his head, he said, "I wouldn't dare..." While kissing my cheek.

We filled our plates to the brim and literally ate so much to the point we can't move.

Well because along with a lot of main course, there was also chaat, starters, and all kinds of cuisines. Though we tried a little bit of everything. Still we had overeaten.

After a good hour of eating, we sat laid back in our seats, literally unable to get up.

"Bohot zyada kha liya..." Shubman said breathlessly.

"Haan...ik...mujhse toh hila bhi nhi ja rha!" I said breathing heavily.

"It's your fault....itne acche caterers book kar liye....taste ke chakkar mai overeating karwa di." He said.

"I'll....take it as a compliment." I said.

Looking to the table where our families were sat, I said, "Agar kisi ne mujhe khate huye dekha hoga toh kya sochega? Ki kitni besharam dulhan hai, apni shaadi mai koi ese khata hai kya..." I said to Shubman.

(A/n: besharam toh tu hai Aashna, apni shaadi mai koi ese khata hai?)

"Haha, koi nhi, ab unhe kon samjhaye ki aadhe time toh tum hawa paani par zinda rehti ho." He said giggling earning a swat to his hand from me.

"Kam bolo bhaisaab, ab mere saath hi rehna hai aapko!" I said.

"Toh kya tum mujhe chai mai zeher mila ke maar dogi?" He said in fake fear.

"You don't drink chai! Bhul gaye?" I said.

"Wese....tumhare muh se apne liye 'aap' sunke accha laga......" He said holding my hand in his.

"Don't get used to it....apni aukat mat bhulo!" I said while giggling.

"Tch tch tch, kitni besharam ho tum...apne pati se ese bolte hai?" He said.

"Toh kya bulaun tumhe? Pati parmeshwar?! Swami?! Devta?!" I said emphasising the words.

"Jo bhi bulana....bas pyaar se bulana." He said.

Aur yahan mai pighal gayi🫠

"How come you're so cheesy?" I said squishing his cheeks.
.
.
.
My mom called me out while we were dancing for a good hour now.

"Haan mumma? Bolo kya hua?" I said as I didn't wanna leave the dance floor.

"Chal jaldi dadaji bula rahe hain." She said.

Sighing, I pulled Shubman's hand out of mine and he shot up his eyebrows, asking me where I was going.

Gesturing with my hand, I went after my mom, "Zyada bolna mat, jo wo bolenge wo chup chap sun lena." She said while guiding me to a sitting area where my grandparents were sitting along with other elders of my family.

In logon ko bina baat jaage rehne ka shauk hai, koi kaam nhi hai toh do kyu nhi rahe?

(A/n: so jayenge toh fir tamasha kon karega?)

"Papa aap Shona ko bula rahe the?" Mom said to grandfather.

"Dance kar rhi thi tu? He asked me.

"Uh....haan...kyo kya hua?" I asked him.

"Hamne socha nhi tha ki tu itni besharm ho jayegi ki apni shaadi mai ese dance karegi!!" He shouted at me.

"Ek minute.....why.....mai apni shaadi mai dance kyo nhi kar sakti?" I asked him.

"Acche gharon ki ladkiyan ese dance nhi karti sabke saath!" He said.

"Please! Dancing se kisi ka ghar aur character mat judge karo dadaji!" I said.

"Pehle tune dusri caste mai shaadi karke hamari izzat kharaab kari, aur wo bhi love marriage, aur ab yeh sab??!" He shouted.

"Bohot ho gya....ab wese bhi aap log paraye ho chuke ho, stay there, don't interfere in my marriage, I'm happy! And for my whole life, aap logon ne mujhe sirf control kiya hai, now stop!" I said.

"Dekho toh kitni batameez ho gayi hai yeh!" He said.

"No no no, this is not batameezi! This is my frustration! Kyoki aapki wajah se mene sab chhod diya! Swimming because aapko pasand nhi thi! Table tennis because aapko mera ladko ke saath khelna pasand nhi tha! Painting because aapko mera classes jaana pasand nhi tha, dancing too! And singing? Woh toh mera favourite thi! Fir bhi mene aapke kehne par classes chhod di, because according to you, aapki izzat ladkiyon ke chup chap ghar bethe rehne se hoti hai!" I vent out all my frustration to him.

"Tujhe hamne job karne ke liye allow kiya, wahi bohot badi baat hai, zyada ud mat! Aur kabhi tujhe job nhi karni deni chahiye thi! Ab kar li love marriage!" He shouted.

(A/n: welcome to the life of girls!)

"Haan haan, jese aap allow nhi karte toh mai apni economics ki degree mai aag laga deti, haina?! I don't need your permission for anything! I am independent, and married! So stop trying to control me now!" I said and left the area fuming in anger.

I heard the loud boom of music as I again entered the dancing area and chugged down a shot to calm myself.

I think I need some air.

Going out in the open, all the emotions came back and led me to burst into silent tears.

Why do people have to be the way they are?!

I don't lie when I say that I hate my family, they all combinedly ruined my time with them.

As I was sobbing silently, I bumped into someone.

We both looked at each other for a while.....just taking in our emotional features.

Then we both burst out and hugged so tightly.

"Tu kahan thi itni der se?" I asked Aarya.

"Aap kahan thi?" She said while sobbing into my shoulder.

"I just.......forget it! Tell me about yourself..." I said.

"Papa found out about me and Abhishek!" She said.

I widened my eyes in response and separated from her.

"What the actual fuck!? What....what happened?" I asked her.

"He saw us making out in the parking lot....and....Abhi's gonna leave in the morning.....so we were just spending some quality time, and dad saw us and he forbade me to stop seeing him ever!" She cried.

"Don't worry, we'll figure something out..." I said, already thinking of ways to fix this.

I don't care how big my problems are, I'm ready to help my family no matter what!

"Why we're you crying?" She asked me.

"It doesn't matter....it's alright now." I said with a small smile.

"But...." She trailed off when I put up my hand for her to stop.

We walked back to the dancing area.

"You remember that night when we were like.....12 or 13 and we were sleeping together and we cried the whole night?" She asked me.

...

I tried to remember...

"Haan! I remember! But do you know why we were crying? I don't understand?" I said.

"Because our parents didn't let us do anything....and they always bossed us around. And there were so many restrictions! We were just frustrated kids!" She said.

"Yeah.....not a fun memory to have!" I joked.

"But the fact that we cried together makes it sweet." She said.

"Ik baby....I love you." I said to her.

"I love you shawn the sheep my inspo!" She said.

HERE'S A QUESTION FOR THE WRITERS, WHO'S PARENTS KNOW THAT YOU WRITE??

MINE DON'T! THEY HATE WATTPAD BECAUSE THEY KNOW ABOUT IT, HEHE.
