1. Story of my life
Aashna's childhood
Third person pov:
2005
Aashna Singh Chahar was born in a conservative Jaat family, the type who was too patriarchal, the type which wouldn't let their girls dance at functions, the type that didn't allow women to lift the veil off their head, the type in front of which, you don't wanna wear above knee clothes if you certify as a woman, the type that didn't want a baby girl to be born, but her parents wanted her and they had made it clear that they only wanted one baby, so everyone prayed it was a boy, when it wasn't, it didn't affect her parents but probably did others. Moreover it didn't matter.
2013
*sounds of distant screaming*
An 8 year old Aashna woke up by the screaming noises coming from the other corner of the house...that of a man and a woman which she recognized to be her parents.
Her eyes open wide, heart beating loudly in her throat and hands shaking, she searched for the switch to turn the light on.
After finding it, she turned the lights on with her shaky hands. Her throat now forming a lump on hearing the voices grow louder.
"Mene jab mana kiya tha toh tum kyu gye apne doston ke saath peene, aur gye bhi toh itni kyu pi li?" Her mom shouted at her drunk dad.
"Mera jo mann karega me woh karunga, tu rok nhi sakti mujhe, maa nhi h tu meri." Her dad shouted back.
She wanted to cry. Her chest tightening.
Fell her tears on hearing some furniture break. What could an 8 year old child react to such a traumatic situation.
She quietly tiptoed to open the door to see what was going on.
Her parents were in an arranged marriage, they were deeply in love with each other but when they fought, it got so bad she couldn't handle it, but now the fights were getting out of hand and no one was doing anything to stop it.
Her dad had drinking problems and her mom hated it, therefore she fought with him.
A cry broke out from her lips because of what she saw.
Her parent's fight had turned into a physical one.
She ran to her parents to try to get them to separate.
"Papa please, papa please mt maaro, mamma, mamma please!!!!" She shouted loudly while crying.
2016
Aashna knew something was wrong.
She was quiet mature for her age. Only 11 but forced to grow up because of childhood trauma.
Her mom was overly frustrated nowdays and her dad head suddenly turned ignorant towards them. They fought constantly. But she wasn't sure about the reason. Until one day, a tremendous fight broke out between them and everything became clear.
It was a woman, a woman was trying to destroy her family, Aashna had her own suspicion which now came to be true, her dad had cheated on her mom.
Aashna was now sure why her dad kept goung out unusually and never let anyone touch his phone.
She was a woman from their own colony who had shifted here with her 3 children, being a single mom, it was hard to take care of all the 3 children by herself, so she thought Aashna's dad was the golden hen.
The fights between her parents grew dirtier day by day, her dad would get drunk and leave home in the middle of the night, leaving her mom and herself alone in a world full of danger.
The fights that would start as a quarrel would turn into a physical one quite quickly.
Aashna, by the time she was 15, had spent countless nights wiping her mother's tears, being scared, watching her mother's suicide attempts which would always be interrupted by her crying and screaming , praying to God this would end, but it kept on going till her dad left his job and went into bankruptcy, that other woman had left now, but not before she destroyed everything.
They were lucky that Aashna's grandparents were still alive, they lived away at a mansion in Bharatpur but were ready to help her parents.
But their condition had turned stagnant and it's like the trauma of their relation ship refused to move.
So her grandparents started living with them to help them with Aashna's study fees and other basic needs.
Her parents' relationship was now developing, it was becoming like an ideal relationship, maybe her dad had finally realised their value.
But her parents had turned toxic towards her, she never went out with friends, never enjoyed normal things like every teenager does, and never shared anything with her parents, it's like in her house, she was invisible.
Her mom had now opened a cloth store making her self-dependent, but she refused to pay Aashna's bills, given that she was toxic.
2021
Aashna was sent to a boarding school when she was 16 years old. Her relationship with her parents further deteriorated. She started to miss her parents badly, she would cry daily to sleep and all left for her to remember was not the loving, carefree childhood that all of her friends had, but those dark nights and cries. Her childhood was ruined. There were no stories she could tell her children about.
She improved her studies and stood 1st in her class, listen to her teachers, she was the ideal kid th at every teacher wanted but inside that student was a mentally and emotionally broken teenager that no one saw, everyone saw that bright smily face and smiled back but god if they saw the tears, it would make them cry.
When she did her 10th with 94%, she was very shortly appreciated with the dialogue of "It's ok but try to do better next time".
She then hated coming home, always wanting to stay away at hostel cause she can't take that much toxicity, her household had turned so toxic that she cried everyday. So she thought that she was better off at hostel. But everything she did was for her parents, she always wanted to make
them happy.
2024
Aashna had now completed her graduation with 96% marks in Arts and had picked out a dream college she wanted to join.
Soon her dad started to begin trading with a small amount and he found solace in the new job as it was high paying, but they hadn't collected much fund to send Aashna to her dream college, so she learnt to enjoy a dream better far.
2029
Aashna had now completed college and was ready to do PHD in Human rights, she badly wanted to join UNICEF.
She had a lot of fun in college, messy hair, short skirt, dream party, hot make out sessions, she had it all.
Her non-toxic paternal aunt and uncle who had a son and lived in Australia offered to help, so she agreed was sent to Aussie to get the doctorate.

Shubman's childhood:
It was nothing like Aashna's trashy childhood, his parents never let anything between them affect their children, Shubman got everything he needed.
He had his parent's support to do what he loved, cricket. Sachin tendulkar being his idol Shubman began to worship cricket in early childhood.
He completed his 10th with average marks and fully joined the cricketing field which now led him to great heights.
The famous cricketer was rumoured to be dating his idol's daughter but no one knew if it was true.
It was indeed but they had broken up.
Shubman and Aashna had different priorities in life, for Shubman, cricket meant everything, for Aashna, it meant nothing.
So how can two so different people mean everything to each other in near future?
Stay on to find out and watch their world collide.
