it had been a year since lani had seen or heard from lewis, she thought breaking up with him would make everything easier for them but really it was her worse nightmare. she was sad and always crying, she had to put on a fake smile for the rest of the tour performing songs she wrote about him

she was dying inside and nobody knew. everyone just assumed she was okay, she couldn't tell anyone how hurt she really was not even her best friend. she kept the break up from lexi as long as she could but lewis ended up telling charles who told her and now she was getting texts and calls everyday checking in. she didn't mind at first but it started being annoying

it was just constant reminders her of the break up which just hurt her even more than what she was. "Sevyn Parish?" the nurse said to her, she picked up the box and walked in the room as she put the box down "take a seat here and the doctor will be with you soon" she smiled at lani as she left out the room

lani looked around the room; it was a plain and simple doctor space, the walls didn't have much on them besides a poster that read "brighter days" she took a seat and waited for the doctor to come in, she looked at the box of old things that reminded her of lewis

she knew this was the right thing to do if she wanted to able to make music again and move on with her life. she had to erase him completely out of her mind, she sighed as she thought about him one last time. the tears had started coming down "i'll always love you lewis" she said to herself

there was a knock on the door and she wiped her tears away before the door opened "hello im Dr. James, i'll be treating you today" he said with a smile "hello im kehlani" she said smiling "alright so i see you're here because of a recent break up?" he said as the nurse started hooking things up to her, she nodded her head "you're here by yourself?" he asked her "yes but my sister knows i'm here and if needed to pick me up she will" she said ensuring the doctor.

"no need don't worry about it, this is a painless and fast process" he said looking at her "so basically everything you're hooked up to is gonna play a big part in helping us erase those memories. we are gonna go scan all the memories you have in these box and remove them" he said to her "it will be emotional but you're gonna be good okay" he said and she nodded her head

he walked over to the box and started scan everything in the box once he was done "okay are you ready?" he asked as she took a deep breath and she nodded her head. both scanned pieces turned green and a memory came into her head, it was their first date. he was looking at her and then he disappeared and she was alone at the beach, a tear fell down her face

that happened with every memory she had. he would be there and then poof... gone as if he was never actually there and replaced with either her friend or her dog. after an hour in the chair they had finally finished  "okay kehlani we are done" he said as the nurse started taking everything off "thank you" she said as she got up and looked back confused "why was i here again?" she asked

the doctor smiled at her "you came here for a therapy session" he said, she nodded and walked out the door. she picked her phone up and called her sister and eve picked up immediately "hey how did it go?" she asked

"it was good i couldn't remember why i needed this therapy session but i feel oddly better" eve was confused at what her sister was saying but realized they didn't tell her why she was there "that's good, come home already so we can cook" she said smiling and lani hung up....

she hung up the phone and looked around "what's wrong?" brandon asked him she didn't want to tell her brother "nothing... lani's on her way home" she felt he was too young to understand what his sister did "okay ima go play ps5" he said walking to the game room

eve picked her phone up and dialed lexis number, she picked up after 4 rings "hey eve" she said "she went to brighter days" eve said quickly. "WHAT!" lexi yelled into the phone but didnt mean to "she went to that doctor and got the treatment done..." eve said

she knew her sister was hurting over this break up, she could see it in the way she wasnt eating much, she wouldn't come out of the basement studio even though she hasn't dropped a song in a year and after her tour she just went into a deep depression. eve thought everything was fine at first, she was always happy when she was on tour

eve felt her sister just put a happy face on for the sake of the tour and her fans "she went to that place and got her memories with him erased, now she doesn't remember him whatsoever." eve explained to lexi. when eve first found out what her sister was thinking about doing she told lexi

they all thought if they didnt bring him up or around anymore and watch anything about him then she would rethink her plans, but eve clearly found out that her sister was gonna do it anyway "eve I thought you said if we act like he didnt exist in her world she wouldn't do it...what happened?" lexi said sounding mad

"I thought so but I guess she had made her mind up already" she said sighing "this might be best for her..maybe she won't be so depressed anymore and actually start making music again" she hit her hand on her head "fuck" she said as realization hit her "what?" lexi asked

"I have to contact her manager and mars about this so they fill everybody in" she said as she typed away on her phone texting mars first "ill text her manager and let him know also" she said as she hung up

as she sent her text to mars the front door opened and a smiling lani walked through the door "hey I picked up what we might need to cook tonight" she said putting all the groceries down, eve smiled at her sister "what?" lani said looking at her as she pulled something out the back

"nothing" she said, this was eves first time seeing lani smile in a whole year, she was just happy to see her sister was happy again but she didnt know for how long "you gonna help or be a creep thats smiling all night?" lani said laughing and eve rolled her eyes as she texted one last person before going to help her sister.
