➳ 9: the rager
"THIS makes absolutely no sense." Ingrid remarked in confusion, standing in front of Klaus with her arms crossed over her chest. "The sire bond is formed out of gratitude or love. Elena possess neither for me and believe me, it is requited."
"No, but she does fear you." Klaus answered with a pointed expression as he placed his art supplies into a cardboard box.
"Fear is not strong enough to form a sire bond." Ingrid argued while shaking her head and shifting on her feet.
"Fear is far stronger than love." He replied with a smug smirk. "It's a powerful motivator and for the common man, it can be paralyzing. Humans don't do things simply because they are afraid. It is possible that Elena is so terrified of you that the sire bond formed as a way for her to protect herself from your rage."
"I do not want a little puppy following me around every moment of the day." She groaned in aggravation and rolled her dark eyes with a scoff. She then threw herself down in one of the arm chairs and smirked at her husband. "Besides, if that were true, the whole world would be sired to you, my love."
"Actually, in that sense I think you would have more sire bonds." He chuckled warmly, his dimples peaking out from his cheeks causing her to smile back slightly. "I don't know. You are pretty terrifying."
Ingrid glanced over at him, unimpressed. "I am not toast, you cannot butter me up for approval."
"Not buttering you up. I am just being honest." Klaus replied with a serious face.
She scoffed with a small laugh and raised an eyebrow. "You? Being honest? My... the world must be ending." She joked in a teasing manner causing him to roll his blue eyes.
"You told her to listen to Damon meaning he'll tell her to stay away from you and she will." Klaus responded with a small shrug of his shoulder. "You won't have to worry about her following you around. The benefit here is that no one else knows. You can use it to your advantage."
"There is a reason I never sired hyrbids, Niklaus. I do not want the uncontrollable loyalty. I do not want someone to simply do everything I asked." Ingrid said with a blank face before smirking widely. "There is no fun in that. I want to take it by force. I do not want it handed to me."
She then walked over to him, running a hand down his arm as she passed by. He grabbed ahold of her hand with his and gazed down at her affectionately. She looked at his hand then up at him with a kind smile. "I love you." She whispered softly then continued on. "But.." The Original wife then shook her head and pointed a finger at him. "Do not assume this means I forgive you entirely. I thought you were dead... and then you were alive. The circumstances changed."
Klaus laughed while shaking his head and held his hands up in surrender. "Why would I assume a moment of passionate intimacy with my wife meant anything?" He questioned sarcastically causing her to smack him on the arm with an feigned offended expression. He laughed again and placed a hand on the small of her back. "My mistake."
Ingrid glared up at him for a moment then began playing with the buttons on his leather jacket with a thoughtful face. "In all honesty, I have not completely forgiven you, Niklaus. However..." She trailed off, tilting her head to the side and looking up at him through her eyelashes. "That does not mean I did not grieve for your death. A piece of my own heart died when I thought Alaric killed you. Then I saw that you were alive and... I was not angry that you had kept that from me. I was thankful that you were home in one piece. I forgot about everything the moment I saw you alive and I wanted nothing more than to be with my husband."
He grabbed onto her hands and brought them up toward his face before kissing her knuckles then placing them in either side of his face. He leaned into her touch and smiled down at her. Klaus then rested his hands on her hips and pulled her close. "Why is it so hard for you to just admit you want to be with me entirely?"
She leaned her head back to glance at him directly in the eye, her face blank as she began to explain herself to him. "Because that would mean giving myself to you entirely." Ingrid let go of Klaus and backed away from him slightly. "Trust must be earned. It cannot be given. As much as I love you, I cannot be with you entirely because deep down I still do not trust you entirely. It would be unfair to you to pretend."
He soaked in her words for a moment before nodding slowly to himself. He then let go of her and walked away as she watched with a deep frown. She began to feel as though she was pushing her husband away. However, this was interrupted when he walked back into the room holding her golden dagger. Ingrid took in a deep breath and watched him with narrowed yet curious eyes.
He then called one of his hybrids, who immediately walked into the room awaiting a command. Klaus turned toward the hybrid and held out the dagger to him. "Take this and bury it somewhere no one will ever find it again. Don't tell me where and forget where you hid it."
The hybrid nodded in understanding before speeding away with the dagger in hand. Once he was gone, Ingrid turned toward Klaus with a genuine expression of appreciation and gratitude.
The hybrid came back a few moments later and stood in front of the Mikaelsons with a blank face. Klaus turned to him and stared deeply into his pupils, compelling him. "Where'd you bury the dagger?"
"I don't remember." He answered in a hollow, monotonous voice causing Klaus to smirk in success and turn from him.
"You're dismissed." Klaus ordered sternly and the hybrid wasted no time in leaving the room.
After he was gone, Ingrid sped toward Klaus and aggressively pinned him against a nearby wall, kissing him passionately on the lips. He immediately kissed back as she ripped his tee shirt open, exposing chiseled chest and his tattoo. He then sped them over to one of the couches and pinned her down on her back while she slipped the tattered remains of his shirt and tossed them to the floor.
Klaus began to kiss down her jaw line as she tilted her head back and let a small moan of pleasure. Her nails dug into his back causing long, deep scratches that immediately started to heal. He left a trail of small kisses down her neck and placed a hand on her face with his thumb running across her bottom lip. She wrapped her lips around his thumb and her dark brown eyes fluttered shut.
Klaus growled lowly against her throat causing vibrations to course through her spine. His fangs grazed across the sensitive and soft skin of her neck and she hummed in ecstasy. Not enjoying the teasing any longer, she pulled him up to her lips again and wrapped her legs around his waist. He let a hand snake up from the hem of her shirt, his fingertips leaving goosebumps with their touch.
Klaus pulled her shirt over her head and tossed it to the floor before leaning down and kissing her hungrily on the lips. She wrapped her hands around his biceps and pulled him closer to her. Ingrid then tangled her fingers in his curls and tugged slightly.
He moaned before pulling her up, sitting her up in his lap. He wrapped a hand around her throat, putting pressure on either side of her neck as she stared at him intensely with a drunken smirk.
She reached her hands down to the belt around his jeans and proceeded to undo it. He titled her head to the side and placed his lips behind her ear. A small gasp for air left her parted lips and she closed her eyes again, taking in the moment.
He let a hand drop down to her back, undoing the clasp of her bra and slowly slipping the straps off her shoulders. Klaus pulled her bare chest against his and kissed her naked shoulder tenderly. Ingrid leaned her head over, resting it on his while running her hands up and down his spine.
"I do want to be with you." Ingrid spoke up in one of the softest whispers, her vulnerability exposed and her heart lying out for him to do as he pleased. She froze in her place after speaking, not wanting to move out of fear.
Klaus pulled away from her shoulder so that he could gaze at her face to face. His light blue eyes staring at her in a series of emotions. Hope, joy, and fear. "Do you mean it?" He questioned back in a small whisper.
"I do." She responded with a small nod then bit her lip in anxiety. "If you can swear to me that you will not betray me ever again."
He grabbed her face in his hands while speaking in a stern and strong tone. "I will never do anything to hurt you ever again. I swear it."
"On your life?" She pushed, needing extra reassurance, and raised an eyebrow.
"On my life." He repeated with a genuinely affectionate smile and kissed the tip of her nose.
She let out a shaky breath of relief and smiled at him, overjoyed. "Then I am yours entirely."
The Mikaelsons had left Mystic Falls and were halfway across the country to Chicago, Illinois when Klaus recieved a call from Carol Lockwood, who was panicking because Tyler had been attacked by a vampire hunter, causing them to turn around much to their dismay.
Meredith Fell was walking down a hallway in the Mystic Falls Hospital, wearing a large, very conspicuous bandage on her neck. Jeremy Gilbert and Connor Jordan followed her as she opened the door to a room and walked in. Jeremy pointed at the doctor, leading Conor to the woman distributing vampire blood around town. "That's her."
"Stay here." Connor ordered sternly then walked passed Jeremy and entered the supply storeroom that Meredith had just entered. Once inside, he found that Meredith was already gone, but he turned when he sensed someone else in the room. "Is a hospital really the best place for a germaphobe?"
Damon walked out from behind a rack of medical supplies and looked at him in confusion. "Did I say that I was a germaphobe?" He rhetorically questioned them scoffed with a smirk. "Sorry, I meant vampire."
Connor pulled out a gun to shoot Damon, but was struck by an arrow. He dropped his gun and bent down to pick it up. When he did so, he was shot by another arrow. He looked at both the arrows and saw they are attached to the same claymore bombs from his trailer.
Damon glanced at him condescendinly and narrowed his icy blue eyes. "Hurts, doesn't it?"
Connor attempted to grab his gun again, but someone kicked it out of the way just out of his reach. Connor looked up from the floor and saw Ingrid grinning at him in amusement. "Hello, mate." Damon looked from her over to Connor with a wide smirk.
Connor attemped to pull the arrow out from his side as Damon and Ingrid watched him. Damon crossed his arms over his chest and looked over at the Mikaelson. "I called Klaus but you'll do I guess."
"Oh, I am so pleased." She remarked in sarcasm and rolled her dark brown eyes.
"Keep it up, buddy. We'll be scraping you off the ceiling." Damon warned with a mocking smirk.
"You two are gonna kill me anyway." Connor pointed out with a knowing look on his face.
"Well, while that may be true. I need a few questions answered first." Ingrid commented with a small smile.
"Let's start with the basics. Where are you from? What do you know?" Damon began to interrogate with a glare. "Maybe you can cue me in on this "greater evil," because I've met this woman--" He remarked, pointing at Ingrid. --and there's nothing more evil than her." Damon then handed her the letter Pastor Young wrote to April that he stole from Connor's trailer.
She took it from him with a raised eyebrow and read it briefly with an amused smile. "Believe me, as much as I don't want Damon to be correct, he is ultimately correct."
"I'm not telling you anything." Connor responded with a shake of his head. "And-- if you think if you kill me, it's gonna be over-- there's another waiting to take my place." He informed them with a smirk.
"See, this is what I like to hear; vague threats, ominous prophecies, disappearing tattoos." Damon remarked as connor looked up at them.
Ingrid paused in her place and stopped smirking, glancing at the Salvatore in fear. "My apologies, did you say tattoos?"
Damon rolled his eyes and waved her off. "Don't bother, you can't see the damn thing."
The Original tilted her head to the side while narrowing her eyes and musing lowly to herself. Connor looked at her before attempting to stake her, but Ingrid was too fast for the hunter and caught his arm. "I commend the effort and I am sorry to disappoint but I am not as pathetically weak like my friend here." She then twisted his arm and grabbed the stake out of his hand. She smirked until she noticed the mark carved into the wood and instantly recognized it. "The Five." The Mikaelson whispered in horror with wide eyes.
Damon turned to her with a confused expression. "The what?"
"I'm faster than your average hunter." Connor whispered to her with an arrogant smirk and was about to pull the string to the bomb.
Damon noticed and sped out of the room, leaving Connor and Ingrid behind. The bomb exploded and Damon was thrown through the air, landing face down on the floor outside the room, and looked behind him as the massive fireball dispersed.
Ingrid grabbed Connor and sped them out of the hospital before the bomb could engulf them in flames. She carried him over her shoulder as she quickly dialed a number on her phone. She listened to the rings and spoke quickly after they picked up the phone. "Niklaus. We have a problem."
Connor woke up on the couch in his trailer and attempted to get up, but was pushed back down by Klaus, who was standing next to Ingrid. The hunter gaped at her on surprise and leaned back on his elbows. "You saved me."
She nodded curtly with a blank face before glancing at Klaus from the corner of her eye and smirking. "Correct. Now... you're indebted to me. And there is a few things we need from you."
Klaus chuckled while tilting his head to the side. "Congratulations, you just became worth more to us alive than dead."
Connor looked at Ingrid with a confused expression. "What-what did you mean when you said I was one of the Five?"
"You don't know your own history?" Klaus questioned in surprise then knelt down next to him and smiled sinisterly. "Well, let's just say, it's made you the most well-protected vampire hunter in town."
