"Halt!" Alpha Pixis raises his arm to signal our horses. "We have arrived in Maria!" We stood upon an elevated hill, where we could sight a old, run-down town below.

"Eh? Are you serious? This is where we're gonna settle in?" Says Jean, obnoxiously, as always.

"It's better than nothing, I guess." Says Armin with a pathetic smile. *sniff sniff* "Hey, do you guys smell that? It's smells like.. Meat."

"Now that you mention it.." Says Jean. We look below and notice smoke coming from a small pub.

"Hey, let's check it out." Suddenly, Sasha pops up and looks over from Jeans shoulder.

"MEAT! MEAT! MEAT!" She exclaims drooling all over Jean.

"Hey! Get off me you idiot!" Jean says shoving Sasha over.

"Now, now," says the Alpha. "We're all hungry from that long trip. Let's go eat."

"YAY!"

When they arrived at the pub, two men welcomed us. "Welcome!" Mikasa, Armin, and I waved hello.

"Oh, are you guys new to town? I've never seen your faces before." Says the bartender.

"Yeah, we're moving in." I say looking at the grill. It seems like they were cooking steak.

"Oh, I'm Eld, the bartender here. And this is Gunter, the cook."

"Sup," says the man flipping over the steak. "Here, it's on the house." He hands Armin, Mikasa, and I a whole grilled steak.

"Wow!" Sasha exclaims from behind Armin. "How about me?"

"Haha, okay, one for the bright young lady!" Says Gunther.

"Hey, don't go forgetting about us!" Says Jean, along with the rest of the group trailing behind him.

"Oh, so you guys are that new group that was moving in. I was scared they were gonna be an annoying group of merchants." Says Eld, handing all of us a glass of water.

"Hey! Boy! Gimme some more of your special booze!" Says the Alpha waving his glass in the air. *hiccup* "Hurry up!" *hiccup*

"Yes, yes." Says Eld preparing another glass.

We spent hours at the pub. Just having fun, singing jigs, eating meat, and having a lot more to drink. While Jean, Marco, and Armin started to sing, The Wheels on the Bus" I walk outside to take a breather. The moon was shining bright, it was beautiful. I wish more nights were like this.

"Yo, Eren." It was Hannes, I guess you could call him the "Vice Alpha".

"What are you doing out here? The party's in there." He says taking a sip of his beer.

"Just taking a breather." As Hannes stood behind me, I could hear everybody else joining in with Jean singing.

"Yeah, tonight's moon is beautiful, isn't it?" *hiccup*

"Hey, Hannes, do you think we'll be able to live peacefully here in this town? I just don't want anything else to happen."

"Well, it is a cute little town. It's quiet, not many people around, far from that other place. That's a good thing, right?"

"I guess. I'm just worried about the clan. I.. I just don't want to lose my family again.."

Hannes walks up to me and gives me a big pat on the back. "You worry to much, it'll be fine. As long as we support and protect each other."

"I.. I will kill them all.. I WILL EXTERMINATE THE VAMPIRES!"

"Woah, slow down, kid."

"How can all you guys be calm?! All our real families have been killed because of them!"

"Eren, do you really think we've forgotten? All of us have suffered because of them. Of course, we're not okay with them. They are our natural enemies. It's just that.. Maybe some of us would rather not remember the past.."

"Oh, sorry."

Hannes family was killed by vampires. He had a wife, and two kids, two daughters. One day, they went camping out in the mountains. Apparently, it was vampire territory. His family was attacked by a group of vampires while he left them to gather firewood.

Hannes was born a Shapeshifter, he just never told his family. That day was the first time he shifted in front of his family. He tried to save them but it was too late. He almost died that day. But then the Alpha saved him, just like me.

All of us have some sort of a tragic backstory. We don't know who our killers were but there's one thing we know for sure: they were vampires.

"Well, the past is the past. It's no use thinking about it now. Don't worry about it."

"Yeah, thanks Hannes, I just really wanted to let that out."

"Don't mention it, kid. You're gonna be a good leader someday. Thinking about your family, about protecting them. But sometimes you just need to hang loose, ya know?" *hiccup*

"Eh? Oh thanks. I'll remember that."

After that big drunken party, we all walk over to our new home. It was an old, abandoned motel.

"Eh? Are you fucking kidding me?! Look at this place!" Says Jean walking towards the building.

"Well, it was abandoned so we decided to take it." Says Hannes rubbing the back of his head. "It's actually pretty big, front and back, side to side. We all get our own room and key."

"I guess it's not so bad then." Says Marco, smiling at Jean.

"F-fine." He blushes and quickly looks away.

As we entered, Hannes handed each of us a key along with our room numbers. The building had two levels with rooms all around. A wooden staircases were bordering the sides of the building. It was pretty dusty inside and had messed up furniture around the entrance.

"As you can see, this place needs to be tidied up." Announces Hannes.

"We will have a list of chores and take turns between groups. Here are your groups. In Group 1 we have: Me, Mikasa, and Armin."

Armin gives Mikasa a big smile.

"Group 2 we have: Annie, Reiner, and Jean."

Jean swears in the corner of the room. "Darn you, Armin!" He says under his breath.

"For Group 3 we have: Christa, Marco, and Ymir."

"I guess we're gonna be paired again, huh, Honey?" Ymir says swinging her arm around Christa.

"And lastly, Group 4: Bertolt, Connie, and Sasha."

"YEAH!" Sasha and Connie high-five while Bertolt smiles pathetically.

"I'm in group 1, Eren, what about you?" Asks Armin.

"Eh? I don't know. Was my name even called?" After the announcement I went up to Hannes.

"What is it, Eren?"

"Oh, um, I don't believe my name was called during the Grouping."

"Oh, I forgot to tell you. You have the position of serving the Alpha, kinda like me. I guess you could call yourself the Alpha's Dog."

"Eh?! As his loyal servant?! Why?! Isn't that a pretty high position?!"

"Well, I guess that just shows how much the Alpha trusts you."

"Really?!" My eyes brightened. The Alpha trusts me? For some reason, I started to get excited.

"That's right." Said a booming voice that came from the hall. It was the Alpha.

"Salute, sir!" I said holding my chin up.

"Eren, you will take position as my Dog, as one of my most trusted members. And also.."

"Yes, sir?"

"Take my place as the Alpha of the Garrison Clan."

"Eh?" I stare blankly at the Alpha.

"Eh?" Says Hannes along with Armin, who just happened to be walking in the background.

"EH?!?!" We all began shouting.

"Hey, what's going on up there?" Says Connie walking up the stairs with Sasha and Mikasa behind him.

"Uh.. Um.. Alpha? I appreciate you giving me so much trust but me? Becoming the Alpha?"

"That's right."

"EH?!?!" Now Connie and Sasha were yelling too. But Mikasa didn't. She went up to the Alpha.

"Um, sir, with no disrespect, may I ask why you have chosen Eren to be the heir?"

The hall went silent. We could hear the rest of the group chatting downstairs, moving all the crates and carts into the building. I was so shocked. Me? The Alpha?! Are you serious right now?!

How was this chapter? I seem to have a lot of time today so I'm planning on writing the next chapter in a couple hours. This story might be long.. Heheh
