Nicole sat in her cabin watching the TV board, eating some venison jerky. Gene knocked on her cabin door. She got up and answered the door in a tee shirt and shorts. "Did you hear what happened?" he said laughing. "Nope, what happened that was so funny?" she asked. "An Omega challenged me." He said with a somewhat cocky smirk. She bent over laughing about that crazy idea. "Did? He really?" She said trying to breathe between laughing. "Indeed, he did" He replied laughing still. "Oh, that's great!" She said finally catching her breath. "Oh! And in return for making you drag the human." He handed Nicole freshly hunted elk and deer meat. She took it. "Feel free to come in." she said opening the door wider and moving out of the way. "If you don't mind then" He said gentlemanly and entered. Nicole walked back to her living room and shut off the tv. She then plopped down on a couch and watched Gene come in. "So, are you dating anyone yet?" She asked laying back. "That was straightforward of you" He said slightly chuckling. "Have you ever known me to bullshit my way around things?" She said back. "True enough, to answer your question no I am not dating anyone." He replied. She nodded "anyone you have an eye on?" "Perhaps, why do you want to know?" He replied as he turned towards her. "Is it wrong for the beta to take interest in her alpha?" She countered "Depends if the beta is serious about it." He countered back. "And why wouldn't I be serious about it?" She asked. "Just wanted to make sure that the feeling isn't fake" he replied. she glared at him slightly "When have I ever faked something with you Gene?" She asked sighing slightly "Hard to take everyone as serious without being naive about it" He said. "Just come sit down and hang out you oaf." She said rolling her eyes.

"Very well." He replied and sat down next to her. "Soo...." She drags out the word wondering what to do or say next. He looked at her with a questioning look. "Who's this person you like?" She asked in a rush. "Well this person is a wolf like us." He said but not going any farther. "What's his or her ranking the pack?" She asked not making eye contact. Gene decided to be an ass and say, "Well I'm not sure, she doesn't like to talk much." "Was she born into the pack?" She asked almost demandingly. 'Hmm should I stop? Hmm almost to fun but i will' he thought. "Nicole, I am being an ass. It's a beta that has worked for 2 years to be a beta." "R-really?" She said stumbling over the word. He nodded, slightly chuckling at the stumbling she wolfs. "P-prove that you like her." She said stumbling over the words again. Without a word he placed a hand behind her head and pulled her into kiss. She blushed madly and melted into the kiss. She broke the kiss looked down and away, blushing crimson. "You did say prove it" He said with smirk. "S-shut up." She said blushing still.

Then almost to quietly to be heard she said "you're a really good kisser though..." "Hmm? What was that?" He asked. "N-nothing!" She said quickly. "Uh huh" he said unbelievingly. She refused to make eye contact still blushing badly. Gene chuckled and said "Well i'll be over here to let you cool off" he'd stand up to head outside. She got up and went to take a cold shower to cool off. Her mind replayed the kiss repeatedly. A few minutes later she came out again dressed in shorts and a tee shirt her hair down and wet. She walked over to the door to see if he was still there waiting. She opened it and looked around to see if he was out there. He'd look at her "I'm still here." he said. "Come back in... I'll start cooking here soon." She said walking back in. He'd come inside and watched her cook. "I'm surprised that you haven't already called me a cold-hearted asshole yet." he said out of the blue. "I would of But A. You're the alpha. And B. I may kind of like you back..." She said trailing off at the last part. "You do?!?" he said, very surprised. She blushed and looked away before putting some elk on a pan and started cooking it adding spices and garnish as needed. "Why do you think i was asking?" she said half chuckling at how naive he was.

About 30 minutes later set the table with elk steaks and a side of green beans. "Sit and eat." she said sitting down and waiting for the alpha to start eating. He sat down and started eating. She started and eat slowly watching his face as he eats. "How is it? Do you like it?" She asked nervous. "It's really good, when did you learn to cook?" he asked. She smiled nervously then said "Back when I was human... my mother taught me how. Then I went to a cooking school so... I've had lots of practice."

" Ah I see. Any siblings?" he asked She brightened up a little and said, "One I have a younger brother, An Irish twin." "Well I do hope I get to meet him someday." he replied with a slight smile. "I haven't seen him in 10 years..." She said looking down slightly. "Well I'm sure he'd be looking for you by now or who knows how long." he replied. She smiled and said, "I hope so..." Gene looked at the time and see it was getting close to midnight "Well I really should be heading back to my cabin now..." he said. "Oh... Okay, Goodnight alpha." "Gene, just call me Gene." He said with a smile then heads out to my cabin.
