The Unlikely Collision
The streets of Chandigarh were alive with morning chaos—honking horns, vendors shouting, and the rhythmic hum of engines. Amid this vibrant cityscape, Meet Hooda zipped through the lanes on her trusty bike. Her short, tomboyish haircut barely needed taming as the wind rushed past her face. Meet wasn't like other girls in her neighborhood; she embraced her unique identity with pride. She was the breadwinner of her family—a role thrust upon her after her father's untimely death.
Her home was a curious mix of personalities. Her elder sister, Manushi, was a self-absorbed fashionista, more concerned about her mascara than the family's struggles. Her mother, Anubha, was loving but weary, burdened by the weight of their circumstances. And then there was her Dadi, who oscillated between doting on Meet and criticizing her for not being "girly" enough.
"Meet!" Anubha had called out earlier that morning, worry lacing her tone. "Sambhal ke jaana, beta. Aur Manushi ka kuch kaam hai toh shaam tak nipta dena(Be careful, dear. And if Manushi needs anything, finish it by evening.)"
"Main sab sambhal lungi, Mummy(I'll take care of everything, Mummy)," Meet had assured her with a grin, grabbing her helmet. Her mother's faith in her was the one constant in Meet's life.
On the other side of the city, Meet Ahlawat, a suave businessman, sat behind the wheel of his luxury car. His life was meticulously planned, from his neatly styled hair to his tailored suits. But today, his perfect schedule was disrupted. Running late for an important meeting, he muttered under his breath, cursing the slow-moving traffic.
As fate would have it, their worlds were about to collide—quite literally.
Meet Hooda, maneuvering her bike with practiced ease, approached an intersection. Her mind was preoccupied with a long to-do list for the day, including errands for her sister. She barely noticed the sleek black car that entered the junction from the opposite side.
Meet Ahlawat, meanwhile, was equally distracted, glancing at his phone for directions. A single moment of inattention sealed their fates.
The crash was sudden and loud. Meet's bike scraped the side of the car before skidding to a stop. She tumbled off but quickly scrambled to her feet, brushing dust off her jacket. Meet Ahlawat slammed the brakes, his pristine car now bearing an ugly scratch.
"What the—" he began as he stepped out, his frustration evident.
Meet Hooda, undeterred, glared at him. "Aap ko brake ka matlab samajh nahi aata? Car chalane ka license kaise mila(Don't you understand the meaning of brakes? How did you even get a license?)"
Ahlawat, visibly annoyed, shot back, "Tumhare jaise stunt bikers ko road pe allowed kaise karte hain? Yeh road tumhare practice ke liye nahi bana hai(How are stunt bikers like you even allowed on the road? This isn't your practice ground!)"
Meet crossed her arms, standing tall despite the height difference. "Aur tumhare jaise perfect log sirf showroom mein baithe rahte toh achha hota(And perfect people like you should just stay in showrooms!)"
The argument escalated as a crowd gathered, entertained by their fiery exchange.
Finally, a voice from the crowd intervened. "Bas karo, bhaiya-behen ki tarah sulah kar lo (Enough! Make up like brother and sister!)"
Both turned to glare at the bystander, their mutual annoyance momentarily united.
The traffic police arrived, urging them to exchange details and clear the road. Reluctantly, Meet Hooda handed over her contact information, her pride stinging more than her scraped elbow. Meet Ahlawat, fuming, promised himself he'd make her pay for the damage.
As she sped off on her bike, her short hair bouncing slightly, Meet muttered, "Pehle se din kharab tha, yeh extra taqleef kahan se aa gayi(The day was already bad—where did this extra trouble come from?)"
Meanwhile, Meet Ahlawat tightened his grip on the steering wheel, muttering under his breath, "Yeh ladki kaun thi? Pure din ka mood kharaab kar diya(Who was this girl? She ruined my whole day.)"
Neither realized that this wasn't just a clash of temperaments—it was the beginning of a story that would reshape their lives forever.
