Story-Start to Finish

Right, so, trying to come up with an idea for my stories, this popped into my head and flourished into a completed short story...kind of a one shot? I guess. I have considered making something else to it, maybe call this the prequel or something. But anyway, yeah, I cried writing this. It is why I haven't updated, I have been trying to decide on whether or not to go ahead and post this. So, I hope you enjoy it, my lovely readers. Warning: You might cry, repeat, if you are a fangirl, there is a possibility of crying. I apologize in advance for anything it might cause. Carry on.

Point of View: Third Person

After the Second Giant War, the two camps combined to make Camp Myth. Hestia and Hades were made part of the council after Zeus realized they needed them to survive now.

But a tragedy is taking place today. A horrible tragedy caused by false accusations.

In the arena of Camp Myth, Perseus Jackson is escorted into the middle of the sand floor of the arena by Jason and Frank. Everybody glares at him, but he keeps his head high and whenever he is beaten, he gets right back up no matter how much pain he is in. He is forced onto his knees and is made to lean down over a stone with a dip in the middle of it, where his neck lays in. He stays down this time.

"Any last words before you are executed, Perseus Jackson?" Athena smirks.

"I have no remorse, no regret, and no guilt as I pass on today. The sky will weep, the sea will rage, the earth will tremble. I have done no wrong and hope in my death my injustice is recognized. I forgive you." Percy says.

"If you did nothing, then why plead guilty?" Apollo snaps.

"There is no use in fighting something I have no power over. I am no fool. Get on with it. I will face death as a friend." Percy closes his eyes.

Ares raises his axe and then brings it down. People gasp and cover their eyes. Hermes throws a sheet over Percy's body and head, then flashes it away.

Percy opens his eyes, already down in the judgement hall.

"Perseus Jackson, welcome to the Underworld." Achilles taps his fingers on the wooden desk he sits at clear above the floor.

"Thanks." Percy nods.

"How's it feel to end in tragedy?" Odysseus inquires, completely bored.

"Not to mention by public execution." Perseus mutters.

"Normal and I had resigned myself to my fate." Percy shrugs. "I was expecting it."

"Alright, all of us here know you're innocent. So, the question is, do we provoke the gods and do what's right or listen and send you to be tortured for all eternity until they see their mistake?" The original Perseus has a small smile.

"I wouldn't care either way." Percy tells them.

"That's unusual. Normally people beg." Perseus laughs.

"I'm not normal." Percy says casually.

"No, I suppose you aren't." Achilles smiles.

"Well? I'm waiting." Percy sighs.

"Perseus Jackson, for defending Olympus more than once, for sacrificing much to save others, for being unjustly murdered, and so much more that you can never be repaid, you may enter the Isle of the Blest." Odysseus declares.

Percy's eyes widen. "What?"

"Enjoy it, kid. You've earned it." Achilles smiles warmly.

Percy looks shocked and then vanishes. He lands on a beach and falls to his knees. The wind blows through his hair and a lone tear runs down his face.

At Camp Myth

An earthquake shakes the entire world, the sea rages all over, and rain beats down upon the face of the Earth. Just like Percy told them it would.

Hades flashes down to the Underworld and into the judgement hall. "Where is Perseus Jackson?" Hades demands.

"Where he belongs." Achilles answers.

"Where is he?!" Hades steams.

"In the Isle of the Blest, Lord Hades." Perseus replies.

"Why did you send him there?!" Hades bellows.

Odysseus shoves all the papers into his face. "Because he is innocent and he always has been. He gave up everything to save your undeserving asses in the world above. It's time you learned when someone is lying. If anyone should be executed, it should be that girl. Annabeth Chase. She lied and got him murdered. Now shut up and release every damned soul who was unjustly accused." Odysseus spits. "We've had enough of your shit, Lord Hades." Odysseus growls and leaves the hall.

Hades blinks and reads through the life of Percy Jackson. Hades puts all the papers in his cloak and then flashes to Percy in his paradise. He comes over and sits next to Percy on a driftwood bench he conjured up with his mind. Percy's paradise isn't rattled by the commotion on the surface world since he died.

"What do you want, Lord Hades?" Percy asks absentmindedly as he stares out at the waves.

"Perseus, I-" Hades begins.

"I don't want to hear that you're sorry. I don't want to hear it from anyone. And I certainly don't want any pity from you stupid gods. If anything, I want to be left alone. I don't want to see others, I don't want to be near them. I don't care anymore. It was my mother's greatest wish for me to enter here and I didn't even have to walk through the gates I can see across the sea. My namesake made it to Elysium and I guess being named after him did give me luck. I made it farther and into Paradise without having to go through the rebirth cycle." Percy makes the bench move closer to the sea and his shoes disappear so his feet can rest in the water.

Hades keeps himself from getting wet. "Child, you must understand. If I had known-"

"Known what? That I was innocent? No one was going to listen. So I pleaded guilty. I'm dead, leave me alone. I'm dead. Isn't that what you wanted?!" Percy rises and gets in Hades's face. "Leave here! Get out!" He sits back down and stares at the sea. "Leave me be. I just want to be left alone." He looks defeated.

"Per-" Hades begins.

"Go away!" Percy shoves Hades into the sea.

Hades looks frightened. "I-I just want to make it up to you."

"There is no making it up to the dead, Hades." Percy's hands clench into fists. "You spilt innocent blood, pure blood. I did nothing and I was murdered. You have no right to step foot in the Isle. In my paradise. You were one of my murderers. You should rot in Tartarus for all that you have done. Every last one of you. And I'm tired of being your puppet. I'll never speak to you again. My last three words were my parting. Now get out." Percy says seriously.

Hades nods, looking sad. He flashes away and Percy sits down on the bench.

And he cries.

On Olympus

Hades flashes into his new throne and joins the meeting. He says nothing as he hands the papers in his cloak to Zeus. After reading down them, he drains of color and reads them aloud. When it's over, every god and goddess has turned pale.

The catastrophe only damaged Camp Myth and Olympus and left the humans alone. It even restored nature. And it stopped after eight hours. That's how long Hades was down there. Time runs fast, especially in the Isle, but it seems slow and like eternity.

"I can't believe it..." Athena covers her mouth.

"If he didn't murder the three demigods, who did? Who did all those things?" Hera asks.

"I have to apologize. Hades, brother, let me see him." Poseidon begs.

Hades doesn't meet Poseidon's eyes. "He is bitter and he hates us all. He wants to be left alone and is so angry, I don't know how to approach him. But I'll let you go. Go ahead."

Poseidon nods. "Thank you, brother."

Poseidon flashes down and as soon as he fully materializes, Percy hisses. "Get out." Poseidon flinches but comes over to sit down next to Percy.

"Percy, I want to reclaim you." Poseidon tells him sternly.

"I refuse. Now leave." Percy gets up and wades into the ocean.

"Percy, I love you, my son. Just let it happen. It will all be okay." Poseidon tries to follow him but when he gets up, he gets stuck in the salty water, frozen in place. His eyes widen.

"Don't even try escaping from it. You aren't more powerful than I am here, especially not in the sea. I don't want you here." Percy says and the water drops. "Now go away."

"Son, I-" Poseidon starts.

"Do you want me to make it clear how much I hate you with all my heart?!" Percy turns on him in fury, making Poseidon stiffen. "Oh wait, I don't have one anymore because you ripped it out and now I'm dead! I'll make it plain in simple, Poseidon." Percy growls. "I fucking hate you, now get the hell out of my paradise before I kill you."

Poseidon flashes out without another word and shakes his head when everyone looks at him. He repeats word for word what Percy told him.

Percy stands in the ocean and then starts walking towards the center of the Isle. He finds others there, meeting and laughing. When they see him they all wave.

When he gets to them, a man in a white robe and hood, which is drawn, comes up and puts an arm around Percy's shoulders. "Welcome to the Isle of the Blest, Perseus Jackson. It is nice that another soul has made it here. I am the Caretaker here. If you have need or want of anything you can't make in your paradise, come to me. Or call on me. My name is Falon. I watch over the souls here." The hooded figure says.

"We've been waiting for you, Percy. How are you?" A woman smiles warmly.

"Not okay." Percy shakes his head as he admits what he feels to the woman.

"Oh, come here sweetie." The woman hugs him and he sobs into her chest. She rubs his back soothingly. "There, there. It'll all be okay."

"Let's celebrate another soul!" A little girl yells.

After a while, Falon leads Percy back to his paradise and sits with him on the bench. "Will you be alright if I leave you?"

Percy nods.

"Good. Even though I know you're lying." Falon smiles. "I'll be by every once in a while as time goes by, but for you I'll come by more often until you've made your peace. I do it for all those who come. Especially the little ones. Most who make it here remember all three lives. But I think you have enough memories for three, young man."

"As a dead soul, you don't have to eat or sleep or any bodily function. Not unless you want to." Falon informs him.

Falon walks off and leaves Percy alone, knowing that is what Percy wants even though he won't be fine alone.

Percy sits down in the sand and makes the bench go away. He hugs his knees to his chest and watches the sea. The only one that stood by him throughout his entire life. The sea. The one thing that still loved him before he died. The one thing that didn't abandon him, even though its lord did.

This sea is different though. It's white and sometimes light blue, but it's mainly a warm white. The sun is white along with it. Percy makes everything white, but of different shades. The sea, the sky, the sun, the sand. And it is endless day as he stares out into it. Falon comes by after a long while and sits next to him. "Do you want to talk about it?" Percy shakes his head. "Do you want me to leave?" Percy nods and he sighs. "Okay. I'll let you be."

After five more times, Falon doesn't know what to do because Percy won't even talk to him. He has tried everything. He sits next to him for the sixth time and asks the same question. "Do you want to talk about it?" This time though, there isn't even a movement from Percy other than his eyes that watch the waves.

Falon gets up and turns, but stops when Percy's hand grabs onto his wrist. Falon looks down in surprise. "Yes, I do."

Falon smiles and sits back down. "Well, tell me about it. Anything in any order. I know when it happened and what happened. So I'll know what we've talked about and what we haven't."

"My execution." Percy murmurs.

"Ah, starting at the end." Falon nods.

"I told them I forgave them, but in my heart, it feels like I can't and I shouldn't and I'm confused and lonely. But I don't want anyone near me. Not after what happened when I let them too close. I don't want that ever again." Percy tells him quietly.

"I understand. It was a great thing you did by forgiving them, but don't regret it. They needed it. You can rest easy now. No more wars, no more pain, no more injustice." Falon tells him.

"What about my mom?" Percy's voice is watery and tears fall onto the sand.

Falon waves his hand and an image like an Iris Message comes into existence. "She's not all that happy. Neither is your stepfather."

The image shows Paul silently crying as he holds Sally in her grief. Percy touches the screen as his tears match hers without the noises. "I'm so sorry." He whispers.

"They are having a funeral tomorrow for you. And the demigods are burning your shroud now. They have all been pardoned even though they shouldn't be. They'll all be judged for it down here though. Don't worry. They won't get off the hook completely." Falon informs him.

"Will they be okay without me?" Percy still has his hand on the image, reaching out to his mother.

"People die all the time, Percy. They will move on, but they will never forget you." Falon tells him gently.

"I miss my mom." Percy admits.

"A lot of children miss their parents and it is mainly children who make it here. They died early in all three of their lives for the most part. Some only had one or two lives as an adult. They can take any of the three forms they want." Falon says.

"I wish I could tell her goodbye." Percy whispers.

"I can have that arranged. Would you like me to give her something? A note, perhaps?" Falon says.

Percy looks at him. "Can you do that?"

Falon smiles and nods. "I do it for many demigods who make it. Sometimes even for regular mortal souls by hiding the note in a place the parents will find it. But for you, I can give it to her directly. If you write one, I will deliver it."

Percy brightens immediately and what he needs appears in the sand next to him. He writes it down quickly since his disorders are gone in death. Falon smiles at Percy's happiness but he knows it won't last. Percy hands the letter to him after folding it. "Can I watch?" Percy asks, turning back to the image.

Falon nods. "Of course. I will be back, child."

Percy doesn't answer as Falon disappears and reappears in the image. "Sally Blofis?" Falon asks. Sally screams and Paul is about to get up when Falon raises a hand. "Do not worry, Paul Blofis. I come bearing no harm, but a letter from your son." Falon holds out the folded piece of paper.

"Percy?" Sally asks.

"Yes, he made it to the Isle of the Blest, Sally." Falon smiles warmly at her. Sally takes the letter. "Can I send something back?" She asks and Falon nods.

She reads down the letter and cries before getting up and going to the kitchen. She doesn't return for a little while and when she does, she comes in with blue stationery. Percy's favorite blue. She hands it to Falon and he takes it gingerly. "This is the only time I can do this. I hope you understand. One time and one time only."

Sally nods. "Thank you." She whispers and Paul thanks him as well.

Falon reappears next to Percy, sitting again while Percy watches his mom and dad read the letter again and then as they break down. And it breaks Percy's heart. Percy's crying again and Falon makes the image fade.

"I do not think it wise to watch them anymore. But I will show you again once more when they have moved on from you." Falon tells Percy. He holds out the blue stationery to Percy. "Here."

Percy chokes as he takes it delicately from Falon. As he reads down the letter, tears drop onto it but they don't bother the ink because of Falon. After he's done reading it, his heart breaks even more and he weeps. Falon wraps an arm around Percy's shoulders again and Percy cries into his shoulder, clutching the letter to his chest tightly. Falon makes sure it won't wrinkle. Enchanting it so it can't get damaged or stolen or fade with time.

"I know it's hard for you, child." Falon says. "Even heroes are allowed to cry for what they've lost. You don't have to be brave here or fear anymore. There is no shame in it. And I won't tell anybody."

Percy loses it and it scares Falon, but he doesn't comment or move away. He just comforts Percy, like he is supposed to. Like his job demands he does. And he does his best but even he sees its going to be a very long time before Percy is healed.

"Anything you make here is real, except for humans. But you can call on animals that have died. I'm sure any number of them would love you. Or I can bring you one. Are you a cat person? A dog person? It doesn't have to be domesticated." Falon tries to cheer him up since he's stopped making the noises and just leans against him, silent tears making their way down is face and onto the sand.

"Pegasus." Percy answers.

Falon nods. "Do you want a certain color?"

"White." Percy says quietly. "Okay." Falon replies and waves his hand. "This is Angel." He tells Percy as he gets up. "I have to go check on the other souls. I'll be back."

Angel comes to lay down beside Percy, knowing she was summoned for him. She makes him lean against her and then curls around him. He threads his fingers through her mane, detangling it over and over. But after awhile, he just leaves his fingers in her mane and watches the sea. Angel is content to just sit there watching the sea with him and will do anything with him. She won't get bored until he does and won't tire. She just cares for him like she is meant to. And she knows she can speak with him but she also knows he doesn't want to talk. So she doesn't speak and neither does he.

On Olympus

Falon appears before the gods and Hades pales.

"Who are you?!" Zeus booms.

"My name is Falon and I am the Caretaker of the Isle of the Blest." Falon snaps.

Zeus loses his color again. "How can we help you?"

Falon scowls but they can't see it under his hood. Only the dead can see under it. "I have been Caretaker since the dawn of time and all creation. I tend to the souls of the Isle. The latest soul is the last straw. You are all despicable and I tire of mending the souls who come to me from injustice of the gods. I have seen many dead souls who are broken hearted, but none more than Perseus Jackson. That boy should still live and you took his life away. If I catch any of you on the Isle again, I'll make you fade. Am I clear?"

The gods all nod. "We understand."

"Stay off the Isle." Falon hisses and then leaves back to his duties.

Five Years Later

Luke Castellan walks up to Percy on the Isle. Percy is staring out at the sea, curled up. Like he always is. His paradise hasn't changed like others have changed theirs. It's endless day there and he never moves from that spot. Not since he sat down in it five years ago. He hasn't done much other than stare and pet Angel. And he only talks aloud to Falon, speaking to Angel in his mind.

But before he can speak, Percy does. "What do you want Luke?" Percy asks coldly.

Angel appears, galloping over the waters happily. She trots around Percy before laying next to him. She nuzzles his hand and then his face. He pets her snout.

Luke froze and Percy knows he is still not moving. "You're in my paradise, Luke. Did you expect me not to know you were here?"

"Um..." Luke squeaks and then comes over to Percy. "May I sit?" He asks awkwardly.

"I guess." Percy shrugs.

Luke sits down and looks at his hands in his lap. "I don't feel right doing this but they uh...The gods want me to tell you that they are sorry. For everything."

"Whatever. If you're here for that, then get out. I don't want anyone who works for the gods in my paradise." Percy says harshly.

Luke flinches. "I only accepted so I could come here and tell you something. I just-I mean-I wanted to say thank you. I don't really care about their apology. I didn't know how to start."

"Falon." Percy whispers and Falon appears in an instant.

"What is it, Percy?" He asks kindly.

"There is a dead soul here that isn't supposed to be." Percy tells him and Falon zeroes in on Luke.

Luke gasps and then writhes in agony, Falon's outfit turns black and a whip more frightening than those the Furies use is in his right hand while he brings pain to Luke with his left, raising it to him. Luke screams in pain and begs for it to stop.

"Percy, please!" Luke cries out.

"I don't want you here. I don't want anybody here. I only want Angel and Falon. I don't like anybody I knew before. If you don't leave, Falon will make you after he punishes you for breaking the rules." Percy tells Luke in a dead and chilling tone.

"Percy, I only wanted to thank you." Luke says and then screams as the whip hits his skin, cutting deeper than should be possible. "I'm sorry!" Luke cries.

"I saved you because I wanted to. I don't want your gratitude. I want you to leave me alone. The Percy you knew died a long time ago. Get out of my paradise." Percy answers in the same voice.

"Percy, please make it stop!" Luke sobs.

"Why should I? You're only here because of the gods and I know Hades let you in. I want you out. Either get up on your own and leave or be punished for eternity." Percy replies.

"I'm sorry." Luke whispers.

Percy turns his icy glare on Luke and he flinches twice, once because of the glare and again because of the whip. "Why are you sorry?"

"Because I just lost your trust and I came bearing an apology from the gods. I'm sorry." Luke says.

"Are you really? Or is it a lie like the rest of them?" Percy's glare doesn't lessen and his tone is still cutting through Luke's soul, piercing it. Just like the whip is.

"Yes! I am sorry! Please." Luke begs.

Percy looks at Falon. "Stop." Falon returns to his white clothes and turns, walking away.

Luke curls up, trying to stop the pain, until he doesn't feel it anymore and he looks to see the lashes are gone. "What?" He turns confused.

"Welcome to paradise, where anyone can be a doctor." Percy says in his dead voice but the icy part isn't in it anymore.

"Thanks." Luke mumbles and sits next to Percy again.

"Whatever. You have an hour before Falon has to make you leave. Say what you want during the time limit." Percy replies.

"Ever since my dying breath, I have wanted to thank you. But I didn't have enough left when I was dying to tell you. When Hades came into Elysium looking for those of us who were your friends in life, I jumped at the chance before anybody else could. I wanted to say thank you, but I didn't know how. I'm sorry I apologized for the gods, I never wanted to. I just didn't know what to say and it came flooding out." Luke gets out quickly.

"Are you done?" Percy asks.

Luke looks at his old friend sadly. "What happened to you?"

"Betrayal and death, Luke. I lost everything and then I was murdered. I watched my mom mourn over me, I got to see my own funeral, and I got to see her once in her daily life since she has moved on. My stepfather too. Personal Loyalty. What the hell do those two words mean to you?" Percy growls out the last sentence.

Luke looks scared of answering and gulps before he does. "Your fatal flaw."

"Yeah, it did get me killed. And I died tragically because of it. Loyalty is everything to me. And I was betrayed by everyone and kept away from the last two people in the whole entire world that loved me. Now they've moved on. Then the bastard that disowned me tries to reclaim me on the same day I died? Not to mention his brother came to visit before that. How do you think I feel?" Percy snarls.

"I'm sorry, Percy. I wish I could have been there." Luke says quietly.

"Well you weren't. Because you got yourself trapped in the claws of our grandfather and I had to help you commit suicide. Fucking suicide! I'm a bitter, dead, kid and I hate everyone and everything but Angel, Falon, and my paradise. I had Falon lock all other souls who made it here out of my paradise. They can't come in here because I want to be left alone. I don't leave here and I never will because I'm dead and I don't like people." Percy snaps.

Luke looks hurt but Percy doesn't care and Luke knows Percy is not himself. "Look, I'm sorry and I wish I could do something, but just because you're dead doesn't mean you have to be bitter."

"No, you're right." Percy snaps again and Luke flinches. "I have to be bitter because my soul was ripped to shreds, my heart was torn out of my chest and stomped on, and I died because my fatal flaw shattered me into billions of little pieces! I wish I had hubris! I hate my fatal flaw!"

Luke is stunned into silence and seems to wilt. "I'm sorry."

"Stop saying that! No one ever means it anymore! It doesn't mean anything to me anymore! If that's all you're going to say, then get out!" Percy yells.

"But..." Luke whispers. Percy just remains silent and looks at the white sea.

After a few minutes, Luke gets the courage to speak. "They say that after you died, nature was restored. How come?"

"Because my pure, innocent blood was spilt unjustly." Percy murmurs.

"Oh, that's...nice." Luke clears his throat awkwardly.

"Yeah, too bad I can't see it." Percy rolls his eyes.

Luke sighs. "Why won't you be like you used to?"

"Gee, I don't know. Maybe cause I'm dead." Percy answers sarcastically.

Luke flinches. "Come on, Percy. I'm your friend."

"The last person who told me that blamed me for murder, then got me killed. Right after she said that she loved me. She was grinning when my head was about to go rolling." Percy responds.

"Oh gods, I'm so-I wish she didn't do that." Luke stops himself before he can say sorry again.

"Yeah, and guess what, she's pardoned for all her crimes even though she did everything. She murdered Clarisse, Will, and Nico. Not me. She burned down the Big House and half the cabins, including her own and somehow all her stuff survived by some miracle. She strangled that nymph and set the forest on fire. She caused so many injuries. She killed those mortals who came close to the border. She did everything and she was decided innocent." Percy informs him.

"And you know what I get? My head chopped off in front of everyone. Yup. Cause that is totally fair. And don't even try telling me life isn't fair or I'll make you fade." Percy snaps.

He grabs Luke by the back of his head and growls as he uses his other hand to touch his neck. "Do you see that?" He traces the white and clean line, Luke pales. "That's where I lost my head when I was alive." He lets Luke go and Luke pulls away. "A reminder of how I was murdered and it won't ever leave." He spits.

Luke just makes a decision and bear hugs Percy who struggles against the older demigod. "I'm sorry." He whispers to Percy.

"I don't care! I hate you! I hate you!" Percy starts crying as he hits Luke's chest. "I hate them all. I don't want to be dead anymore." Percy sobs and Luke doesn't have to fight against Percy anymore.

"I know, Percy. I know." Luke says quietly.

"I hate you. You're making me feel it all over again." Percy weeps. "I hate you."

Luke nods. "I know." He whispers.

"I miss my mother and Paul. I miss Blackjack and Mrs. O' Leary. I hate being dead. I want to go home, Luke. I can't stand being dead." Percy tells him.

"Percy, you need to let go like everybody else has here. You made it to Paradise. You should be happy for eternity, not dead inside. Forget about life. This place is supposed to be better. You can do anything you want and no one can really bother you." Luke says gently.

"But I can't. It hurts too much to let go." Percy sobs.

"It's because of your fatal flaw. But, Percy, one day, you'll have to let go. That's what death is. You died without regrets, so why fight so hard to keep everything you had left in life?" Luke hugs him tighter.

Percy screams and then breaks down all over again, bashing his fists into Luke's chest in anger and grief. Falon appears before the hour is up and takes Percy into his arms. "I think it best that you leave now. Thank you for making him realize it though. I knew he would be tough but I never imagined he would fight so hard. Goodbye, Luke Castellan."

Luke nods and leaves through the Gates of Light. Heading back to Elysium.

Falon carries Percy to the center of the Isle, trying to console him. He heads into the Temple of the Blessed and lays Percy down in the crystal waters, hoping they help him heal. The water shines and glitters once Percy touches it and starts to cleanse him.

"Lucas Castellan is right, Percy. You must let go and once you do, you will feel so much better. Let these waters help your burdens and ease your mind. Find serenity in them and let them calm you. Once you are healed, I will come and get you." Falon bows and leaves.

Percy's tears ebb and he sinks into the waters. He looks as if he is asleep but he is really in a stasis until he heals. His clothes change into a white robe and the magical properties of the water work with him. Once he is mended all the way, his body will lay on the surface of the waters. But he will float closer to the top as he heals.

In Elysium

Luke Castellan sits on a bench in the woods, chin in hands, and staring at the ground. He is approached by Hades who sits next to him. Luke subconsciously scoots away and Hades knows he wasn't thinking when he was doing it, he is obviously lost in thought.

"So, how-" Hades begins.

"I want to be reborn." Luke decides aloud and looks at Hades. "I want to enter the rebirth cycle."

"Get a taste of Paradise?" Hades smirks.

Luke scowls. "No, the paradise I entered was depressing, heartbreaking, and made me want to kill myself. And I'm already dead. I just want to start over is all. I'm going to try to achieve the Isle of the Blest though."

"Okay..." Hades says slowly. "What did Perseus say though?"

"He hates you." Luke says simply. "That's about it. That's all he would say. And he's totally cold and bitter, nearly heartless."

Hades sighs and nods. "Rebirth, huh?"

"Yes." Luke says, determined.

"Fine. Done." Hades snaps his fingers and Luke disappears.

Luke is reborn immediately as a mortal boy to a family in California that is on vacation. He is named Mason Hendershot.

Twenty Years Later

Both Sally and Paul die in a car accident. Sally and Paul both choose to be reborn because they want to see their son. Sally is reborn as a demigod to Demeter named Morgan and Paul is reborn as a clear sighted mortal in Germany by the name of Rick.

Percy is still in the Temple of the Blessed, not even halfway to the surface of the waters. Falon watches over him sadly and can see the war raging inside Percy. Other souls come to visit and look sad too.

Five Years Later

Mason dies at the same age he did as Luke Castellan and lived another good life. So he is reborn once more immediately. He is reborn this time as a demigod to Hermes again and his mother is a priestess in Southern Michigan, Nathan is what he was named.

Percy has finally reached the halfway point and Falon senses that he is starting to become tranquil and win the war.

Six Years Later

Morgan dies at the age of six as she is eaten by the Minotaur and is reborn as a mortal girl named Tiffany who doesn't have clear sight.

Paul dies one year after that of cancer and is reborn as Dan, the son of a happy couple in Alabama.

Percy hasn't moved from the halfway point at all and Falon sits next to the waters, depressed and worried sick.

Four Years Later

Tiffany is run over by a car after running away from her mom and is allowed into the Isle. She immediately turns to Sally and rushes into the center of the Isle, where Falon welcomes her and let's her in to see her son.

Dan has heart problems and before he can get to a hospital, his heart fails him and he is allowed into the Isle. Like Sally, he immediately changes into his first life, Paul. He, too, is welcomed warmly and allowed in to see Percy.

Nathan contracts a deadly virus and doesn't get the vaccine in time. He enters the Isle and becomes Luke again. Then he rushes to the center of the Isle of the Blest. He is welcomed and then Falon lets him see Percy.

Percy is just below the surface, but he hasn't broken it yet.

"How long has he been like this?" Luke asks.

"Since you left that day 35 years ago. But here, it has been 350 years unlike on Earth's surface. It is why I am so worried. He has been here for 400 years, and most of his time has been spent trying to purge himself of all his ties. He will still be most ecstatic to see you, but he will be happier than last you saw him. I hope. No one has been in here for so long. Most are done in a day or two. The others less or sometimes three days." Falon answers.

"When will he wake up?" Sally asks, Paul holding her.

"I do not know. Normally I do, but he is so unique." Falon replies.

"Come on, Perce." Luke whispers.

After forty years since his death, every demigod he knew is either dead or old. The dead ones are Jason, Leo, Reyna, Dakota, Katie, and Jake. Who are all shunned by the others in Elysium, which they barely made because of Percy's death. Clarisse, Will, Nico, and Ethan decide to try for the Isle of the Blest instead of having to deal with the betrayers.

After a year, those who were casualties of the Second Titan War  and the Second Giant War follow their lead and Luke's, not wanting to be around those who let down the nicest and most loyal man to ever live.

The others complain about not getting to try but quiet down when they are told they were hardly let into Elysium and lost the privilege to try for rebirth when they helped kill Percy.

When Annabeth dies, she doesn't achieve Elysium or Asphodel. She is sent to the Fields of Punishment. The wars didn't balance out the murder and the crimes like she thought they would.

By the time Percy wakes up, they have all made it to the Isle. And have gathered around the waters inside the Temple. Percy finally makes it to rest on top of the waters and his eyes flutter open. Falon wades in and holds Percy in his disorientation. He wakes up gasping for air even though he doesn't need it since he's dead. But he's freaking out.

"Percy, calm down." Falon tells him. Percy focuses on Falon and tries his best to do as Falon tells him. "You're alright. You're alright." Falon assures him but Percy winces and Falon knows it's his soul. "You have been away from your paradise for a long time. Your legs aren't working, are they?"

Percy winces and then shakes his head in answer. Falon carries him out of the pool of crystal water and then hurries to Percy's paradise. He walks as he enters it and unlocks it so other souls can enter. He lays Percy down in the sand as he winces again. Falon keeps Percy sitting up and his hands glow white as he tries to help Percy. Angel whinnies in joy and races over to Percy. She lays down next to him and nuzzles him all over. Percy laughs and Falon smiles but still looks worried.

'How do you feel, little lord? I have been so worried about you.' Angel speaks to him through their mind link. Percy hugs her closer and she seems a little surprised but melts into it.

'I missed you, Angel.' Percy tells her and Angel whinnies happily. '

I missed you too, little lord. Are you okay?' She answers.

'Yes, I feel a whole lot better!' He replies excitedly.

'That's wonderful, child.' She nuzzles him and he keeps hugging her.

Falon's hands stop glowing and he doesn't need to support Percy anymore. "How do you fare, Percy?" Percy turns and looks at Falon. He surprises the Caretaker by hugging him and Falon wraps his arms around Percy. "Better." Percy breathes.

Falon doesn't pull away because Percy doesn't want him to. "Good."

"Percy?" Sally asks.

Percy freezes and then pulls away to look past Falon. "Mom?" Percy chokes. "Mom!" Percy rushes to her and crashes into her as he hugs her.

Sally has tears running down her face as she holds her son again after so long. "I missed you, my little boy."

The End
