So I was scrolling under notes when I rediscovered that I have a deleted ending for my Mabel x Reader. Since the chapter already contained rather sensitive material, I thought including the bad ending would take away from its potential lesson and make it into solid angst (which I already write enough of, for sure).

Besides that, I overall enjoyed writing this out, even if it didn't make it into the final scene.

"You're not only my best friend, but you're also the love of my life. You complete me."

There was a dreadful silence between the two as that had been said, and Mabel almost felt uneasiness run through her stomach. She felt as though she might've said too much, but at this point she didn't care if you had rejected her or not. She was just glad that you were alive and safe, wrapped around in her arms.

Though much to her surprise, your hand landed on the back of her head in return, a light chuckle escaping you. "Oh Mabel, that's so sweet. They'd be so excited to know!"

Mabel laughed in relief, heaving a sigh. "Oh thank goodness, I was almost afraid there that. . ." she trailed off as your sentence finally clicked into her brain, her smile subtly wiping off her face. "Wait, they'd? What do you mean by—"

Before Mabel could finish her sentence, she felt a force push against her, sending her stumbling by the ledge. The woman released a breathless scream as she waved her arms in a desperate attempt to catch her balance, though it was to no avail. She caught a quick glance of yellow eyes before she had fell backwards, a shocked expression being the last thing ever seen of her. The possessed body stepped forward as it watched Mabel splash into the water, a spine-chilling grin creeping on its lips.

"Hope you have fun in kingdom come, Shooting Star. Your beloved [Name] has been awaiting you!"
