Chapter 10: Moving In
"You wanna do what again?" I asked. "I said, we should start living together." Naruto repeated. "So sudden?" I asked before taking a bite out of my ramen. "Yeah! Don't you want to live together?" Naruto asked.
"Well..." I trailed off. It's been two weeks since Naruto found out we were god siblings. Naruto and I were having the lunch and he wants me to move in with him. "Why do you want me to move in with you all of a sudden?" I asked.
"Well... I just thought I'd be nice." Naruto mumbled. "Why would you have a need to be nice?" I asked. "Because... I noticed you've been going to that old alley near Yamanaka Flowers. I've also noticed you've been staying there until morning. Eita... Are you sleeping there?" Naruto asked.
I went to take another bite of ramen until Naruto asked that question. "You are, aren't you?" Naruto said, looking at me with worry. I lowered my head so my hair covered my eyes and gave a small nod. "You have a house, don't you? Why not go back to it?" He asked.
"Because I can't..." I mumbled. I couldn't go back to that house knowing I'll see blood everywhere I go. Even if all of it is cleaned, I'll still see it, along with my family's corpses. "Why can't you?" Naruto asked.
"Because I can't!" I snapped. I looked at Naruto was taken back from my tone. "I'm sorry. I just... can't go back to that place." I mumbled. "Oh... I understand." He said.
"Meow~." Naruto and I looked towards the entrance of the ramen shop as we spotted a stray cat. "A cat?" Naruto asked. "It must've smelled the food." I said. I got up from the table with the side dish that I ordered and walked over to the stray cat.
"Eh? What are you doing, Eita?" Naruto asked. "I'm going to feed it. The poor thing must be starving." I said, setting my food down in front of the cat. The cat meowed again and began eating the food.
"There you go. You were just hungry, weren't you?" I said, gently petting its back. I wonder if I should take it home? "Aw, so cute!" Ayame squealed. "Hmph! I hate cats." Naruto mumbled. "You're just upset because that cat, Tora, kept scratching you." I chuckled.
"Cats are evil!" Naruto defended. "Of course they are." I agreed, sarcastically. When the cat was finished, I picked it up and carried it back to the table. Ayame got out a small bowl and filled it with milk. "Thanks, Ayame." I thanked.
"No problem." She smiled. "Careful, Eita. Those things are as vicious as they come." Naruto warned. "Not this cat." I confirmed, petted it softly. The cat meowed again, leaped onto the table, and began drinking the milk Ayame prepared for it.
"He's so adorable." Ayame cooed. I smiled down at it as it licked up the milk. "Yeah, when it's not attacking." Naruto grumbled. "Don't be such a sour puss." I teased while ruffling his hair. Naruto chuckled and pushed my hand away.
I smiled gently at him. "Naruto."
"Hmm?"
"I've thought about it, and I decided, yes. I'll move in with you."
"Really?!"
"Mm-hm."
"All right! This is awesome!" Naruto cheered as he threw himself at me, hugging me. But he hugged me too hard and both of us fell to the ground. "Ow... Way to go, clumsy." I said, groaning in pain. "Sorry about that." Naruto apologized.
Ayame and the old man laughed at us. "You guys are so cute!" Ayame said.
After lunch, Naruto and I walked to my house to move my stuff out. I reached towards the doorknob as my hand shook. I gulped down my fear and opened the door, walking inside the house. Everything was cleaned up as if nothing ever happened.
Naruto and I went up to my room and packed my things, including my stuffed animals. "You collect stuffed animals?" Naruto asked. "Yep. I started doing this about a month ago." I answered. "Is that a little... you know, girly?" He asked.
"I guess. But hey, I've gotta have a hobby, right?" I said, packing my clothes. Once I was all packed, we went to Naruto's house and he showed me to my room. "Make yourself at home." Naruto said. "Thanks." I replied as I started to unpack.
After I finished unpacking, I met with Naruto in the living room. "So... What do you wanna do?" Naruto asked, in which I shrugged. "Do you have any sake?" I asked. "Sake? But we're under aged." He said. "So?" I asked.
"Have you had sake before?"
"Only once... Okay, maybe twice. With my Dad. He said, since I'm growing up, I should know what sake taste like now than wait til later when I'm 21. I insisted that it was bad idea, but he said it was fine as long as I didn't tell Mom."
"Wouldn't that make him a bad influence?"
I shrugged. "I guess. But sake isn't really that bad. Here, I'll show you." I said, going in the cabinet and getting out some sake. I got out two small glasses and filled them with sake. "Here, try some." I said, handing him the glass.
I drank the whole glass down and sighed in relaxation. Naruto raised a brow at the liquid and gave it a small sip. "Bleh! This taste awful!" Naruto yelled, making me laugh. "It's not that bad once you get used to the taste. Trust me," I said. "Here, have some more."
All day, we drank glass after glass. We even challenged each other who could drink the most in one go. By the end of the day, we finished the whole bottle and Naruto was drunk off his ass. I also learned one thing from Naruto: He can't hold in his alcohol very well.
"And that dumb Sasuke keeps getting in my way, making me look like a fool in front of Sakura!" He said, tugging on my shirt. "I get it! You've said that four times already! And let go of my shirt!" I said, trying to push him away.
"Congratulations, Eita. You've just awakened Drunk Naruto." Inari praised, sarcastically. "Shut up. I just need to get him to bed and make him go to sleep." I said. "Sure, then he'll be left with a hangover in the morning." She mentioned.
"True," I agreed. I looked at Naruto as his head lightly swayed from side to side, completely dazed. "Come on, Naruto. Let's get to bed."
I grabbed his arm and put it over my shoulders as I grabbed his waist, helping him up. "You're so nice, Eita..." Naruto said, slurring his words. "Yeah, yeah." I said. Note to self: Don't ever let Naruto drink sake.
I guided Naruto to his room and sat him on his bed. "Come on, let's get you out of these clothes." I said before unzipping his jacket. "But I want more sake." Naruto whined as I placed his jacket beside him. "No, you don't. Raise your arms above your head." I instructed.
I took off his shirt and place it with his jacket. Once all his clothes were removed, I got him dressed in his pajamas. "Let me keep drinking. I want more. More..." Naruto mumbled. "No way. You're drunk as it is,"
I placed his sleep hat on his head, then laid him back on the on the bed before pulling the blanket over him. "Get some sleep" I said. "You're so nice, Eita..." Naruto said, groggily. "You already said that." I reminded him.
"You're so nice..."
"Now you're just repeating yourself."
"So nice..."
"Hey!"
I gasped when Naruto wrapped his hands over my neck and pulled me down to his chest. "Oh, give me a break, Naruto. Let me go." I said. "But you're so nice..." He repeated.
"I get it. Now, let go of me." I repeated, trying to break free from his hold, but Naruto was stronger than I anticipated.
I sighed and rolled my eyes until I caught of whiff of Naruto's scent. 'He smells so nice... A little bit like ramen, but still sweet...' I thought. "Sleep with me." He mumbled. "No way. Let go, Naruto." I said.
"Stay with me, Eita. Please..." I managed to sit up, but Naruto still had his hands over my neck. I looked at Naruto as his eyes were dazed and his face looked flushed. I blushed softly at him as he stared at me. "Please sleep with me, Eita..." Naruto repeated.
"I hope he means what I think he means." Inari said. "Get real, Inari." I replied. "Sleep... with me..." Naruto whispered. "Fine, but only for tonight." I said. I climbed into bed with him and laid down beside him.
"Get some sleep, Naruto." I said as my back faced him. "Mm... Okay..." Naruto obliged and he was out like a light. I sat up and looked at Naruto as he slept soundly. "He's so adorable." I whispered. I kissed Naruto's head, then lied back down, falling asleep.
