Something knocked onto me, hard, and sent me flying backwards onto the floor. I opened my eyes and noticed that a senior boy- whose name I didn't know- had knocked against me while running to the door. The impact had pushed me to a vacant spot away from the centre of chaos. The zombie- whose nails had dislodged from my flesh- was momentarily stunned, confused by the sudden loss of its prey.

I looked back towards the door and saw the senior boy escape.

I have to follow him.

I got onto my feet and ran behind him, forgetting the throbbing in my ankle.

The corridor was eerily empty. But I heard footsteps slapping onto the tiles in rapid succession.

It should be that boy.

I started running, as quietly as I could, in the general direction of the sound. That is, until I heard him yell, followed by the sound of a scuffle.

Oh no...he must have gotten caught. No, no, no! Please, no. I'm going to die.

I turn around to run in the opposite direction, but stop when I hear noises from that side as well. Hollow grunts and rasping sounds joined with a rhythmic thump. 

Going to the boy seemed like a better idea and that's what I did.

I found him struggling on top of a zombie with one hand wrapped around its throat and the other holding its arms down. The boy was heavily wounded himself. Deep red gashes ran along his face and arms.

The boy notices me standing there and pleads, "help!"

He's my only hope to get out.

Looking around for a makeshift weapon I notice a red extinguisher mounted on the wall to my side. That would do. Just as I popped it off hook it slipped off of my grip and slammed onto floor. Man, I didn't think it would be that heavy! Hastily, I dragged it towards them. Understanding what I was about to do, the boy removed his hands from its neck and held the zombie down. With all the strength I had, I swung the extinguisher onto the zombies head. It smashed like a rotten egg, making the gore fly all over. Disgusting!

"Let's go!" The boy took my hand and lead the way to the exit as fast as we could go.
