The passages are dank and dark; the only source of light emits from the torch that Hiccup carries. Viggo stands next to him, neither of them saying a word. However, Hiccup hasn't said anything the whole time since he has been revealed to his past friends. Ryker is in the back of the group, sword out incase one of the teens decide to try and make a run for it. None have tried running yet.

"Where are you taking us?" Astrid asks, finally taking her gaze off of Hiccup's back to instead stare at the back of Viggo's head. Oh, how she wishes she had her ax. She would love to use it on Viggo for everything he has done. She also can't stand the smug look on his face when he speaks to them.

"You will see, all in due time," Viggo vaguely responds. Astrid grunts but doesn't say anything else. Her eyes fall back to Hiccup, she notices how stiff he seems. His broad shoulders are pushed back and his back remains ramrod straight. The hand not holding the torch is clenched into a fist at his side.

Astrid's eyebrows furrow at his posture; something isn't right. Well, nothing was right from the beginning. Hiccup was revealed to had been kidnapped and tortured. But Astrid doubts Hiccup would normally be this tense. Being tense in a fight allows an opening for your opponent. And with everything that has been said about "the assassin", Hiccup wouldn't be alive if was to fight as he appears to be right now.

The passage ends and Viggo leads them to what appears to be a training arena. Astrid gets an uncomfortable feeling as she notices the similarities between the arena they are currently in and the one back on Berk.

"Uh... Why exactly did you bring us in here?" Tuffnut questions, looking around the arena. "If you are going to threaten us into training dragons for you, then it won't work. Someone already had the same idea."

Viggo sighs, annoyance clear as day on his face. "No, you imbecile. Have you not listened to a word I've said?" He waves his hand at his brother; he stalks forward and shoves Astrid forward. She stumbles but is able to catch her balance.

Astrid really wishes she could punch Ryker at the moment. But she knows it would only cause harm to her friends.

She looks up and meets Viggo's gaze. He smirks in response. "I have ways to keep your dear Hiccup in check. Before he became my assassin, his will was strong. I was doubting if I would be able to get through and break it. But I pushed forward. Now you already know that I am responsible for his memory issues. But I didn't say how." Viggo smirks and he gestures for Hiccup to come closer.

Astrid looks at Hiccup, hoping to see some sort of recognition in his usually bright green eyes. But his dark and foggy eyes hold no warmth as he adverts his gazes from hers. Astrid wants to cry in frustration and anger. She wants to kill Viggo for all that he has done to Hiccup.

She wants to reach out to Hiccup and hold his face in her hands, to tell him that she found him and that she won't ever let him go.

Not again.

She needs him.

He made her happy again. While Astrid may not have been the kindest towards him, the short time that they were friendly towards each other is something that Astrid will always cherish. When Hiccup smiled, his eyes were bright and shining; it made Astrid feel unusually happy.

She wants to tell him how much he means to her and how much she yearned for his presence these past five years.

But Viggo hurt him. And he will kill her and her friends.

But Astrid won't let it happen.

"Years ago, I was visiting a vacant island and I came across a Skrill. I'm sure you all know what Skrill's are capable of. And when I found your friend, I knew that I had a way to break him and make him anew," Viggo claims turning to face Hiccup, who hasn't move other than when directed. "I was aware of how shocking a person can help with mental ailments. I was also aware of how after too much exposure to electricity can cause loss of memory. And that is what it took to break you dear Hiccup."

Viggo turns away from Hiccup and faces Astrid instead. "After Hiccup's many failures in eliminating Dagur, I felt that Hiccup was adverting from his mission. So I went about to put him back in line. But something different happened. Right as we were about to finish up, he called out a name. Your name, Astrid."

Astrid swears her heart stops. She stares at him in disbelief and horror.

Viggo continues, ignoring the shocked looks aimed at him, "You are the key Astrid. You are the reason Hiccup is still fighting. I can't fully have him until you are gone," Viggo proudly claims.

"So what, you're too much of a coward to kill me? Why is it so important that Hiccup and I fight to the death? Either way, it'll break this 'connection'."

Viggo laughs, clearly amused. Astrid snarls at him. "No, no, no. That won't work. Sure, you will be dead and your friends would clearly follow, but it won't give me what I want.

"No, to truly get what I want, I can't have the honor of killing you and your friends. That honor has to go to Hiccup."

The others shout, alarmed. "How do you even know if that will work? Hiccup is stronger than you think. You can't really believe that he would willingly kill us," Snotlout declares.

Ruffnut determinedly pushes her way forward, "Yea! He is our friend! He has gone through too much to fall under your control."

Viggo chuckles at their claims. "Ah, that is where you forget. Hiccup doesn't have the ability to make his own decisions. I took that away from him so he would simply do what I say," Viggo pauses and gestures to Astrid. "Astrid will make the choice. Either she kills Hiccup and you all go free; or Astrid allows Hiccup to kill her, therefore giving me the assassin I have been working to get and then you all will be killed shortly after. But Hiccup will remain alive, and I know that is important to you all."

Nobody says anything, all too shocked and apprehensive as to what will become of them all. Viggo seems pleased with their silence and continues. "So what will it be? Fight your friend to save those you care about? Or do you refuse; causing me and my brother to kill each and every one of you. Including Hiccup and his dragon."

Astrid looks once more at Hiccup, yet she sees nothing in his eyes. She turns to the others behind her, all expressing worry and fear. For themselves. For Astrid. For Hiccup and Toothless.

But Astrid knows that she has to get them all out alive. So she has to take the risk. The risk of either her or Hiccup dying. She can't fail them.

"Fine," Astrid says, determined. "I'll do it."
