My hands and feet were wet with blood, but at last, I had made it.

The Star Destroyer.

Ever since speaking with my Master, I had been making my way towards it. The heavy fog clouding my mind had made traveling difficult, but as time went on, I had gotten better at figuring out what was real and what wasn't. I knew that although it was not only thing that was real, the Star Destroyer was the most important thing.

That was where I would find Ezra.

My eyes scanned the area surrounding the downed ship. From where I stood, I couldn't see anything or anyone. My heart dropped. What if they hadn't made it? Was Ezra gone? I frantically felt around the force, searching for him. Once I did, I sighed with relief.

Where was he then?

My eyes caught on a lone figure, walking away from the Star Destroyer and towards the forest. Not having any other options, I sprinted towards him. As I approached, he heard me and quickly spun around, his eyes going wide.

I looked at his face, and although I wasn't able to recognize him, it did look familiar. Finally it hit me.

"Doc?"

"Ashoka," he said stiffly.

"Where's Ezra?"

He rolled his eyes.

My eyes narrowed. "Where?"

He glared. "Don't bother," he said. "He's not going to make it."

Grabbing his shoulders, I shoved him to the ground. Activating my light saber, I held it at his throat.

"Where is he?"

Struggling for words, Doc pointed towards the shadow of the Star Destroyer.

Releasing him, I stood up and began to run towards the ship, my light saber still in hand. As I approached, Ezra's presence gradually grew stronger; however, my heart still broke when I realized how faint he really was.

In the shadow of the Destroyer, I stumbled upon a group. In the center of the group laid an injured trooper, and kneeling beside him was another trooper, tears streaming down his face as he pressed a cloth to his friend's chest. I took a step forward and spotted a droid and a few feet away, a motionless figure laid on the ground.

I glimpsed an orange vest and wisps of black hair. "Ezra," I murmured and took a step towards him.

One of the troopers glanced up at me. He looked so shaken that he didn't even react upon seeing me.

"What has happened?" I asked and knelt beside Ezra.

"The wound on his leg," the trooper, Gear, said, "The spores in the atmosphere got in it. It's infected." He adjusted his grip on the cloth he was pressing to the second trooper's chest. "Ezra is dying."

"What happened to him?" I gestured at the second trooper, Stance.

"Doc happened," Gear said bitterly. "He was going to kill Ezra, put him out of his misery, he said, but Stance wouldn't let him. They fought, and Doc stabbed him."

I glanced behind me, looking for Doc's lone figure again. However, he was already gone, vanishing into the tree line. "I should've ended him when I had the chance." The droid beside me whirred in agreement.

"You have to contact your friends," Gear said. "It's the only way to save the Padawan, and to save Stance."

I nodded. "How?"

"This ship is old, but Chopper and I were able to find a working comm near the bow of the ship." He nodded to the droid. "He can show you where it is. Take Ezra, and contact them. Tell them where we are."

"I will," I said. Lifting Ezra into my arms, I stood to my feet.

"Wait, before you go," Gear said and grabbed something from a pocket. Uncurling his Palm, he revealed a syringe. "This will clear the spores from your system and your mind."

Shutting out the vision of my Master from my mind, I extended my arm towards him. Uncapping the syringe, Gear slid the needle into my arm and into my bloodstream.

"The vaccine may fatigue you, but at least you won't see any more ghosts." He looked at Ezra's pale, still form. "Least for now."

"Thank you," I said. "Be safe. We'll be back."

"You'd better," Gear said and turned his attention back on his fallen brother.

I faced Chopper. "Lead the way."

Honking loudly, the droid rolled forward, verging deeper into the shadow of the Star Destroyer. I took a step forward, Ezra in my arms, and my world spun. Breathing deeply, I watched as the darkness on the edges of my vision faded into nothing. As the shadows returned my clarity, a heavy weight seemed to press against every muscle and bone in my body.

Shaking my head, I fixed my eyes forward. Although my legs burned, I followed after the droid. Gear certainly had been right about the fatigue; however, nothing was going to stop me from finding the communications center, contacting the Ghost crew, and saving both Ezra and the man who saved him.
