'I'll be okay as long as I'm with you.' - Mute!Error x Deaf!Fresh

Error hugged his books to his chest and walked into his classroom with a hum. He smiled when he saw his friend, Fresh, and sat down beside him, giving him a small wave as a greeting.
He set his books down on his desk and looked around at the rest of the people in their class which was only thirteen people in total.
Error had been put in a special class when he first came to this school since he was mute. He was nervous one his first day, but that nervousness quickly faded away when he met the rest of the people in his class and made friends with all of them.
Fresh, a skeleton who was deaf, was the first person he met. He became friends with him before everyone else. Out of the whole class, Fresh was his best friend. He didn't know what it was about the other skeleton, but he just felt much more comfortable around him than the rest of the students in his class.
Error and Fresh practically did everything together. They sat by each other in class, studied together, did homework together, ate together, often went over to each other's houses, since they didn't live that far apart, and other things of the sort. They were practically inseparable.
Of course, fitting in with the normal students was a hard task to do. There were obviously bullied who made fun of them and what not, but they always got through the hard times together. They did end up making some friends with normal students, though it was only a few, he was happy anyway. He felt he had a good friend circle.
Now, Error and Fresh were in their second year of high school. They were sophomores.
Fresh gave a wave back to Error and flashed a smile at him. They were going sign to each other to talk, but decided not to when the teacher came into the classroom. They could talk at lunch or after school. The two both turned their attention to the front of the classroom and focused on the lesson.
—————-
The last bell of the day rang and Error and Fresh quickly left the classroom and went to their lockers. They grabbed the items they needed and quickly ran out of the school.
The two did this everyday once the last bell of the day rang because it was necessary for them. If they were too slow, they would end up running into bullies before they could leave and they didn't need to be in a bad mood when they went home.
Error and Fresh stopped running once they had gotten past the gate that led into the school, figuring they would be able to walk home from that point without getting caught by bullies. That's what would usually happen once that got to that point.
Error jumped when he felt a hand placed on his shoulder and glitched up. From the touch alone, he could tell it wasn't Fresh or any of his other friends. He had gotten used to their touch and never glitched when he was touched by them.
The glitch spun around quickly and backed away from whoever had touched him. A fearful look appeard on his face once he saw who had touched him. It was Ink. A bully.
Now, Ink had never bullied Error, Fresh, or any of their friends before, but he had seen him picking on other kids before. He also hung out with his bullies which would be Nightmare and his crew.
Ink put his hands up in the air once he saw the look on Error's face. "Woah, woah, I'm not here to pick on you or anything now! Calm down!" He said quickly.
Error didn't say anything, hence the fact that he couldn't talk and didn't want to anyway, and backed up until he was behind Fresh.
Fresh shot a glare at Ink. He stared at him when he spoke, reading his lips to tell what he was saying. "Yeah, like we believe you!" He hissed out. Fresh normally used sign language to communicate with other people since he couldn't hear himself speak. He didn't know if he was talking normally, whispering, yelling or anything. Luckily, he wasn't shouting or anything, though, he was a bit loud.
Ink laughed and put his hands down. "Have I ever picked on you or any of your friends?" He asked, raising a brow at the other skeleton.
Fresh shook his head slowly. "Well, no, but-"
Ink cut Fresh off. "So what makes you think I would start now? If I was going to pick on you then I would have done it when you came here last year, right?"
Fresh gave a small shrug. "I don't know but we can't trust you! You could come for us at any time!"
Ink rolled his eyes. "Look, I just want to talk to your buddy right there. Would you let me do that? We're just going to talk over there." He pointed over to the far left. "I won't do anything to harm him. You can even see us from here. Record you if you like. If I do anything you can show the principal tomorrow."
Fresh narrowed his eyes at Ink. "Fine, but if Error doesn't want to go he's not going," He grunted.
Ink nodded. "That's fine with me."
Fresh turned around to face Error, looking down at Error. 'You don't have to go and talk to him,' He signed to Error.
Error looked at Fresh then glanced around him at Ink who flashed a friendly smile at him. He turned his attention back to Fresh. 'I'll talk to him...' He signed back slowly.
Fresh sighed and gave a small nod. "Okay... If you're sure..."
Error nodded then looked at Ink. 'Let's go' He signed.
Ink grinned and nodded, leading Error over to the other side of the gate, away from Fresh.
Error looked up at Ink. 'What did you want to talk about...?' He asked.
Ink rubbed the back of his skull. "Well, I'll be blunt. I really like you and I want to go on a date with you," He replied.
Error blushed a soft yellow and let out a small squeak of surprise. He wasn't completely mute but he couldn't talk. He could only make small noises at best. He had gotten speech therapy before but it hadn't helped at all. He could only make small noises and it would most likely stay that way for the rest of his life.
Error had never gotten asked out before, ever so he was really surprised and confused. It was shown on his face. He raised a questioning brow at Ink as a way to ask 'What?'
"I really like you and I want to go on a date with you," Ink said, repeating himself. "So, what do you say?" He asked a second later.
Error stared at Ink for a moment before he looked down at the floor, fiddling with his fingers. He didn't know what to say and was at a loss for words.
"Hey, you don't need to give me an answer now. Think about it and tell me tomorrow at the end of the day, okay?" The taller asked, once he saw how long it was taking Error to respond to him.
Error snapped his gaze up to Ink and gave a quick nod before he ran off back to Fresh. He had been watching the two of them anxiously. He let out a sigh of relief when he saw Error run back to him, unharmed.
The taller pulled Error into a quick hug before they started to walk home. "What did Ink say?" He asked.
Error blinked and looked up at the his best friend. 'Well, he uh....' His hands stopped moving, as he hesitated a bit before he continued to sign to Fresh. He wasn't sure how the other would react. 'He asked me out on a date.'
"What?!" Fresh asked, his eyes going wide. He didn't even need to hear himself to know that he had shouted.
Error flinched and just gave a small nod in reply to Fresh.
"What did you say back?" Fresh asked, anxiously, watching Error closely.
The smaller shook his head and glanced up at Fresh again. 'I didn't give him an answer yet.'
Fresh let out a small breath and nodded. "You're not actually thinking about saying yes, are you...?" He asked, after a small moment of silence.
The glitched gave a small shrug and rubbed the back of his skull. 'Well, I dunno... Maybe...? I mean why not...?'
Fresh made a face and shook his head. "What do you mean why not?! He's a bully! You can't go out with him!" He yelled.
Error whimpered and sunk down into his hoodie. He wasn't used to to Fresh yelling since anytime he did hear the others speak his voice was always soft. 'W-Why not...? H-He hasn't done anything to us...' He hesitantly signed.
Fresh let out a small sigh and stopped talking. He decided to use sign language since he had scared Error by yelling at him. 'So what? He'a bullied other kids! You can't date someone like that!' He really didn't want Error to say yes to Ink. One, he had a bad feeling about Ink. Ink must have some kind of trap set for Error. Two, he really liked Error. What happened if Ink did really like Error and they started dating? Fresh would of course support Error, but he'd also be incredibly sad.
'But maybe I can change him...? And he'll change for me if he really likes me...' He signed.
Fresh shook his head. 'That's not likely! It's probably a trap!'
Error didn't reply and stopped walking since they had reached their houses. He hugged Fresh and squeezed him slightly before he pulled away. 'I'll talk to you tomorrow' he signed quickly then ran into his house.
Fresh watched the smaller disappear into his house with a sigh. "Bye..." He murmured then went into his own house.
—————
The next day, after school, Error met up with Ink. Every since yesterday he had been thinking about whether to say yes or no to Ink and he had finally made up his mind.
Ink looked down at the small boy. "So what's your answer?" He asked.
'Yes,' Error signed and then nodded at Ink a moment later. He gave Ink the benefit of the doubt and decided to accept.
Ink raised a brow. "Yes? You'll go on a date with me."
Error smiled and nodded once more
The taller grinned and nodded. "Alright! This Saturday at six pm I'll pick you up at your house, okay?"
Error nodded yet again before he pulled out a piece of paper and a pencil then wrote his number down. He gave the paper to Ink, making sure he didn't touch him during the process.!After that, he waved at Ink before he ran off to Fresh with a happy smile.
Fresh didn't ask any questions until they had both reached their houses. "You accepted didn't you?"
Error nodded slowly. 'I did. I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt!' He signed with a smile.
Fresh made a face. "Why?! I told you it's probably a trap!"
Error shook his head. 'You don't know that for sure!'
"That doesn't matter! You shouldn't trust him! Don't go with him! It's just going to turn out badly!" Fresh shouted, his hands curling into fists. He was really sad that Error agreed to go on a date with Ink, but he was really upset at the same time. He couldn't believe Error would be so trusting of someone like Ink.
'No it won't! Why can't you just be happy for me?!' Error signed back quickly a small grunt escaping him. A large frown was set on his face.
Fresh twitched. "Why won't you just believe me?!"
'Because you're being ridiculous!'
"Fine! Go ahead and trust him! When this blows up in your face don't come to me crying!" Fresh hissed before he went into his house and slammed the door behind him.
'I won't!' Error signed and then ran into his own house, slamming the door behind himself as well.
——————
Error woke up late in the day with a yawn. He sat up and picked up his phone, checking the date and time. It was Saturday and it was eleven in the morning. Today he would have his date with Ink. He sighed and climbed out of bed, going downstairs and making himself breakfast.
Error stayed in bed for the rest of the day until it was close to six. He had no other reason to get up unless he was hungry or needed to use the bathroom. He usually spent the weekend with Fresh but they weren't talking right now so he had nothing to do.
The glitch sighed sadly. He was really sad because of his and Fresh's small fight. They never fought often which just made him really sad when they did. He picked up when his heard his alarm and turned it off. He needed to get ready for his date.
Error hopped out of bed and papped at his cheeks. He couldn't let his day be ruined. He had a date to look forward to. He hummed and ran to his closet, picking out some nicer clothes than the ones he normally wore and slipped them on.
He looked at himself in the mirror and smiled at himself. He thought he looked pretty nice. Error picked up his phone when he heard it ding. He had gotten a text. 'Hey, It's me, Ink. I'm outside of your house.'
Error smiled at the text. 'I'll be right down!' He texted back and then rushed out of his house. He locked the door then got inside of Ink's car, sitting in the passenger seat. He waved at Ink as a greeting.
Ink smiled. "Hey, you look nice." He replied, causing Error to blush before he drove off.
————-
Error's date with Ink didn't last long. The two of them went to a quick movie, ate dinner and now Ink was driving him home. Even though the date was short, Error enjoyed it a lot. Ink was really nice and not once did Ink seem like he would do something bad to him. Once he was home, he would go to Fresh's house and tell him how wrong he was.
————
Ink stopped his car in front of Error's house. "We're here."
Error nodded and got out of the car, Ink getting out of the car as well. He walked the smaller to his door.
Error looked up at Ink. 'Thanks for taking me out tonight! I had fun!' He signed with a bright smile.
Ink smiled back at Error. "You're welcome. I had fun as well," He said, grabbing Error by his chin and tilting his face up.
Error blushed a soft yellow color and stared up at Ink. 'Ink...?' He signed, staring up at Ink.
Ink didn't say a word and just started to lean in.
Error let out a small breath and slowly shut his eyes, leaning in as well.
A grin appeared on the taller's face as he stopped leaning in a pulled away from Error. Nightmare and the rest of his crew came out from behind Error's house and dumped a large bucket of glue on the smaller.
Error's eyes snapped open when he felt the glue but he shut them again instantly. He didn't want to get it in his eyes. That would hurt a lot. He wiped at his eyes sockets to get the glue off of them, walking backwards slightly. He flinched when he felt more items poured onto him a moment later.
The glitch opened his eyes slightly, letting out a small yelp when he tripped over someone's foot. He fell to the ground with a small help and opened his eyes completely when heard laughter. He looked around quickly.
Error was surround by Ink, Nightmare and the rest of his crew. Ink had his phone out recording the whole scene while laughing. "Did you seriously think that I liked you?" He asked with a snicker. "I can't believe how naive you are. No one wants to date someone that can't even talk!" He laughed.
Error put his arms over his face when he saw the flashes of pictures being taken. He felt tears well up in the corner of his eye sockets and he began to tremble. The small skeleton pulled himself up off of the ground quickly and ran into his house, locking the door behind him.
He ran to his bathroom and pulled his clothes off, tossing them into a corner. He climbed into the shower and turned on the water, sitting down on the floor.
Error curled up into a ball on the shower floor and let the water hit him, beginning to sob into his arms. He should have listened to Fresh before. If he had then none of this would be happening to him right now. He was stupid for thinking Ink really did like him.
Ink would most likely post that video and those pictures of him on his social media. He'd be the laughing stock of the whole school.
Error finished his shower and climbed out of it, shutting off the water. He dried himself off and changed into some fresh clothes, not bothering to do anything with his dirty clothes yet. He went to his room and plopped down in his bed after closing his curtains.
He turned on his side and sighed, curling up into a ball and crying into his pillow, squeezing it. He really wanted to go to Fresh for comfort, but he couldn't do that after what happened a couple of days ago. Fresh probably didn't want to see him for at least a few more days anyway...
——————
Fresh laid in his bed, slowly blinking his eyes open. He was just waking up from a nap. He yawned and rolled over on his side, picking up his phone and checking the time. It was seven thirty. Error has probably finished his date with Ink by now.
Fresh 'tch'ed and shook his head. He didn't want to think about that. If Error hadn't come over crying yet then the date had went well.
He sighed and unlocked his phone, clicking on his messages when he saw he had five. He clocked in the first message which was from his friend Decans, one of the normal students.
Fresh raised a brow when he saw what Decans had texted him. He texted 'Hey, I think you might want to see this' and then a link to a video on Ink's MonsterGram account. He clicked on the link, dropping his phone once he got through the first ten seconds and saw what had happened to Error. He didn't need to see the rest of the video. He got the idea of what had happened. Right now, he needed to get to Error.
Fresh hopped out of bed and threw on some clothes quickly then bolted out of his house. He ran to Error's house and knocked on the door. "Error! Error are you in there!" He shouted, looking up at the window to Error's room to see if Error would appear in it.
He waited about two minutes before he just assumed Error wasn't home or he wasn't going to answer. He pulled out the spare key to Error's house and unlocked the door. The two of them had keys to each other's houses for emergency purposes.
Fresh ran into Error's house and went to his room, knocking on the door once before he just opened it and went inside. "Error?!" He called out, walking up to the bed once he saw the lump on it.
Error stiffened under the sheets when he heard Fresh's voice and sniffed. He wiped at his tears and sat up. 'Why are you here?' He signed, turning away from Fresh.
Fresh sat down on the bed beside Error and wrapped his arms around the smaller, pulling him into a hug. "You know why I'm here. I'm here to check on you. Are you okay?"
Error wiped his nose with the back of his hand. 'What do you think?'
Fresh sighed and rubbed Error's skull. "You know, you could have came to me," He murmured, glancing down at Error who had buried his face in his chest.
'You're the one who told me not to come crying to your hen things went wrong,' Error signed, his hands shaking.
Fresh looked up. "You know I didn't mean that... You can always come to me when you need to. I'll always be here for you." He started to rub Error's back. "You can cry if you need to. It's okay."
Error kept his face buried in Fresh's chest. He gripped onto him and started to cry again after a moment, hugging the taller tightly.
Fresh hugged Error back and let him crying, letting him get everything out of his system. He knew that they couldn't talk now since Error wouldn't be able to sign anything to him like this.
Once Error finally stopped crying, Fresh looked down at him. He wiped away the last of the smaller's tears before he started to speak. "I'm sorry for being so mean to you yesterday.."
Error shook his head and sniffled. 'You don't need to be sorry... You were right... I shouldn't have trusted him..'
Fresh sighed. "Even so, I shouldn't have snapped at you like that. I just didn't want you to go with him. I was scared that he would actually like you and then I would lose you before I even got a chance to confess..."
The smaller blinked and looked up at Fresh. 'Confess...?' He signed out slowly a small blush creeping onto his face.
Fresh nodded and cupped one of Error's cheeks, rubbing his thumb across it. "Yeah. I'd be mad at myself if you did end up with Ink." He pressed his forehead to Error's. "I love you, Error..." He whispered out.
Error's blush darkened. He didn't sign anything for a moment, taking a moment to let everything sink in before he smiled. 'I love you too!'
Fresh let out a sigh of relief and pecked Error on the teeth. "Oh, thank god. I was dying from anticipation."
Error nuzzled the taller's cheek and gave him a small peck on the teeth in return, blush still set on his cheeks. 'Sorry, Sorry,' He grinned. 'I didn't think I'd be able to make it through high school. I figured I'd end up quitting sooner or later but...'
He let out a happy sigh and relaxed back in Fresh's grip, letting his eyes drift close. 'I'll be okay as long as I'm with you.'
