Chapter 58

Another!

Moxxie couldn't believe this was happening. Out of all times why now? Sure, there has been lack of bugs lately but he truly thought maybe they got rid of all of them. Or, possibly further away than he was going to explore.

He had been so damn busy with his work, IMP, other problems he was fixing, personal life itself, and was just so busy. Yet, it wasn't excusable when he saw five bugs reach the portal. The portal to the Wrath Ring.

"STOLAS CLOSE IT!"

The bug screeched as they almost landed. Until strings grab them. They threw them very far away from the onlookers.

"IMPS OF WRATH! DON'T WORRY ITS NOT REAL UM STAY AND WATCH THE MOON! IT'S JUST A LITTLE SHOW. THAT'LL JUST PASS...CARRY ON!" Stolas voice boomed out into everyone in the field. Then just ran in the direction Puppet tossed the bugs on the other side of the town.

"What the fuck we just saw?"

"How should I know? Some noble show?"

"The moon! Curse us all!"

"YOU HEARD THE DAMN BIRD IT'S NOT REAL!" Blitz cursed out at the Imps stupidity. Pull out his gun to go follow Stolas. Not because he cares but something just fell off with all this shit. "Crust buckets! Loona gets back at the ranch now!"

"But he said- "

"I've been on so much drugs! No, way those weren't real!"

"Moon drugs?"

"What the fuck are those?" Striker runs over to them. He couldn't take the chance to take the angelic weapon out here. Also, he actually pretty pissed off now. These things just ruin everything. Could have had the damn shot. Now, he has to help unless the damn prince gets killed by the things.

"How the fuck I know! I just bang him! I don't ask what happen in space!"

"So, don't believe that horseshit?"

"Fuck no I don't!"

"Blitz!" Millie runs over to them about to jump at Blitz, Loona, and Striker. "What going on?"

"Again, I don't know!"

"Do you at least no who mask one was throwing!"

"No, I don't know who the space wizard was!" Blitz looked around the area. "Look I don't know what happened. But I say we get the fuck out, got back to your barn and get in the van."

"What?!"

"I'm using common sense! Plus, I think there taking care of it."

"What make you say that?"

Blitz pointed to the open portal as a bug was soon thrown back in.  Tied up in string. "There that."

Stolas hoots angrily and dodges the long mandible mouth to not bite his head off. He ran fast to get to the area Puppet was able to throw the bugs far away instead that town. Now the two of them are fighting these things. Whatever they are Puppet was very worried. His hat came off at some point. He raised his legs up. With strength that surprised many he kicks the creature off him in the sky. His eyes then glow red.

The bug screeched ready to leap back then turned to stone. Fell on the ground

The owl pants, and quickly move before another try to his him. "Puppet! What are these things?!"

"Bugs that I thought I got rid of all them! Don't let them bite you! They can poison a star who knows what they can do to you!" Moxxie used the one he trapped in string and slammed it against another one.

"Got a lot of explaining to do later!"

"Just keep these four here!"

The fifth one is back in space to get it later. Wrap up a second one while Stolas able to severely hurt the third one

"Puppet one getting away!"

"Keep them all here now!" Puppet chases after the Bug trying to run back into town. Not going down at all by the bullets being shot at by Imps.

"Stolas what the fuck is going on!" Blitz yelled as he, along with the ones with him, ran over. They were all stunned to see these three creatures just tied. Another one turns into stone at some point. Wait? Where did Stolas get that sword?

"Questions for later!" Stolas yelled and jumped backwards as the Bug tried to slash him.

"No, for all I know we this could have happened to us!" Maybe slight worry for the jerk. Only because he has a kid to worry about who opens the portal. Plus, the team.

"I'll explain later. Right now, it's only a 'drug' story!" So, far everyone is falling for that.

"So, who the fuck where your mask buddy!" Blitz demanded as he got ready to shoot the ugly bug.

"Getting the last one!" Pull their book out. He's ready to close the portal when they get back. Hopefully fast.

Moxxie chases after the Bug in town. Another turns around a building and soon goes farther away from everyone else. Quickly teleport to slam into the bug against a wooded storage room.

The bug screeches in pain struggling to get up.

The imp snarled behind the mask and punched the face area.

Again.

Again.

Again.

Again.

Again.

Okay maybe not the best time to let his emotions take control. Need to get this thing out now-

"PUPPET?!"

He stops confused why their name was yelled. Guess he wasn't that too far away after all. Yet, those next few seconds will bite him back.

The creature, clearly not recognizable. The mandibles look ready to come off their face any second. It was still enough time for them to attack. Its mandible slam down across on Moxxie arm and bit down hard.

Moxxie let out a screech of pain.

Summons a bone to slam it down into the creature's head. No, longer able to move. Quickly rip the mouth off his arm. String up the creature mouth. Clutch their arm as he can feel some liquid. The liquid was his blood and something else. Then back to the thing mouth. The damn teeth got coated in poison when he was punching the creature. Hit the sack inside the neck and it exploded.

Well, this was going to suck!

Grab the strings with the Bug then run fast.

"Puppet? Their name puppet."

"That's all I'm going to say! So, stop asking me questions now Blitzo!" Stolas snapped as he paced a bit. He wanted to go after Puppet. But can't leave these three things alone with the portal open. What is there more? Look up and down on what to do.

"Those things attack our home!" Millie demanded. Her family was close by along with safe.

There was a bit of destruction around. A few buildings may need to be looked at.

"I said not NOW!" Stolas eyes glowed furiously.

Millie and Loona took a step back.

Blitz tried not to flinch and growled.

Striker tail rattle unhappily and ready to shoot him.

"Stolas!"

All of them turn to see Puppet. He was running so fast; the Bug being roped behind in the air. Arms out and the strings go back out to grab the other three. Then they surround themselves in blue magic to fly back up into the portal.

"Close it!"

"Puppet-"

"Close it now and stay! I'll take care of it! You take care of everything here!"

Stolas clenched his fist. He wanted to follow them and make no others would be there. But he has to take care of everything here. This was his responsibility. Make sure this stupid drug story sticks if he calls. He grabs his book. When he made sure all five went past the portal, he quickly shut it off.

No longer seeing them or the red moon shining down into Wrath. A crowd can be cheering from today's tremendous harvest festival.

"Stolas-"

"Blitz I can't now. I need to make a call."

"Who? Who you have to call so badly to not answer us-"

"The Lord of Wrath." Stolas looked at them all. "I have a responsibility, Blitz. This happens with my book. They will want answers about why their ring was attacked. Answers I have to come up quickly and can't ask my friend what happened out there."

"Friend?" Millie tilts her head.

"Yes, my friend" Stolas pulled out his phone and cursed at the text messages, phone calls from his Puppet. Trying to warn him. Oh Puppet. "You all go back home now."

"Hell, no! We almost could have got killed because of this mess!"

"I swear Blitz if you don't-

"You'll what bitch and complain at me again!"

"Go back out there now" Points at the direction of the center town. "Go back, relax and just wait."

Blitz snarled but he listens. That's all they can do. All of them start to walk away. Even if they sent different looks to Stolas.

"Maybe we should stop asking." Loona grunted. "If its royal shit. We shouldn't be a part of."

"It's not just that." Blitz huffed a bit. "Let the bird puss deal with this junk. I'll find out later so nothing screws us over with the book."

Moxxie destroyed all five of them with his strings. Search around the area of space to summon a few Blasters.

"Search as far you can to find, destroy every last one. See a poison star grab it." He pants behind the mask as he quickly landed on the nearest moon. The blasters off to go do their job. Look back at his right arm and rolled up his sleeves. Not the worst thing ever happened to him.

Yet.

Summon out his soul as he could see the dark purple veins already trying to poison him. His wrecked soul was already fighting back the poison but it would take a while.

This was not going to be fun.

Here the thing. While he can destroy the poison, and heal the stars that were affected by it. For him it's a different story. His body, new or not, was still like his old body. Which means even his own healing magic will reject it from himself. For now. Yes, it's messed up in so many ways. Still, trying to figure out how to fix that but been busy. Has been little steps with non poison stuff. So, their body will need to naturally get rid of it just like every other poison anyone tried to use on him. It's just going to be not so fun this time since it's a new body. Plus, it was the first time to even be poisoned in their new life. If he remembers correctly, it was not 'fun'.

Who is calling him?

Pull out his phone. He had been gone for like three minutes. How does he have this many text messages and voice calls!

Then it clicks as he cursed louder.

They haven't seen him at the festival! He did say he was watching far away. Now probably searching. He took a staggered breath as he clutched his arm when he felt the slight sensation. Quickly made up a plan as he pulled out his phone to text Stolas. To tell him he was fine, sorry for not coming sooner and that the festival got destroyed. Will, be not available to talk but to text is something comes up. Just give him time. Look at their arm as he cursed. Pull out bandaged from the inventory. Wrap their arm up, tightly. Just got to deal with this till he gets home to his Madre and Dr.Medea. Open a portal up as he jumps out with the clothes gone back to the other one.

It was one of the buildings the Bug slammed into. A decent hole. No, no one around at all. Grit his teeth slightly. Got out of the building and stumbled a bit. Took a deep breath and quickly ran to where the others could be. Soon found the group. Millie looked worried as she texted on her phone. Blitz trying to calm her down. Loona seems to be sniffing around but looks confused. Striker seems to be searching around.

"Millie its fin- "

"If you say fine one last time I'm going to- "

"Yall okay?" They turn to see Moxxie move a bit fast over to them. Confusion as he tilts their head.

"There he is! Where you been?"

"Around?"

"Smart ass. Well, you missed some shit with Stolas, and some puppet doll."

"Huh?"

"Will explain later. Let's just get back to the farm. Done hanging around everyone being horny about corn." Blitz waves it off not seeing the many glares shoot at him.

Quickly they all went back to Millie home. Everyone was very tired after what that was along from the pain games. Just brush it off like it was nothing. Sure, Blitz complains about the book other than that. All good. Joe did seem very silent as he didn't look at Moxxie.

Moxxie didn't care as he had business to deal with on his own.

Right now, outside as he leans against the house. Eyes closed as he clutched his arm tightly. Shit, this isn't good. For Loona to not even smell the poison along with their blood is good. But along with bad. Besides a check along with seeing the other bleed. Who knows what shit could happen if this was another in their position.

"Critter where are you?"

Come on not now. Straighten themselves up as he let go their arm.

"There you are."

Look over to see Striker walking over.

"What you doing back out here?"

"Air." Wow that sounded so lame.

"Air?"

A small shrugged. "Didn't want to hear all about that talk inside."

"Yeah, it is getting a bit much." Along with wanted to throw out their own thoughts of this situation. Doesn't even want to think about the excuse he'll have to tell the client. Already planning an idea if that damn owl sticks to this hallucination story.

Moxxie was just silent.

"Critter?"

Barely turn their head. Like he didn't hear them. Felt a hand on their forehead.

"Shit you're burning up." He liked how he was easily able to do this. Then I could hear how they sound, like they are breathing fast. "Come let's get you out this. No, couch tonight."

"Rattles. Do." Close their eyes. Reopen them again. That is not good. "Do you remember how to get to Medea?"

"You're Doc? Yes?"

"Can you. Can you." Moxxie voice slurred up, his eyes then rolled back as he fell forwards. Quickly caught. Only able to pick up a few words till they passed out.

"Shit! Moxxie!"
