Flashes of our memories came rushing past through me as my head kept repeating one single name.

Rei. Rei. Rei. Rei.

He was telling me his farewell when we were at the park. I really hate it when my stupidity kicks in! How the hell did I overlook the fact that he was acting really weird!? Stupid piece of shit with undeniable princess syndrome-

I glanced at my right wrist, eyes stopping at the watch Rei gave me... Why the fuck am I moping! There's no time to waste! I still need to run back home! I can still meet him if I run fast.

With that mindset, I turned to Takehiko.

"Takehiko, I'm sorry!" I mustered to shout, bowing down.

"... Huh...?"

"... I think I left the stove on!" I continued, turning around and sprinting away. "Let's talk about whatever we were talking about later! Thanks!"

I blinked my tears away, running at full speed. Wind blew furiously against my form while I continue rushing past through street after street.

And that's when I saw him. He was also running towards me. But... He was fading.

I ran faster, the moonstone ring Midorima gave me slipping from my thumb and into the ground. I'll just pick it up later!

"Rei!" I shouted, reaching my hands towards him. He was still far and I couldn't run any faster.

"____!"

Come on! I'm close! Just a little bit more!

"Rei, I like you!" I finally voiced out. "I like the way cook lunch for me! I like the way you always look out for me! I like the way you panic over little things! I like everything about you! You're... You're perfect!"

My throat hurts and I am probably waking every person in the neighborhood up. But to hell with that.

"____, I-" He was in front of me and I can't stop myself from reaching forward and enclosing him in a tight hug.

But instead of feeling his body against mine, I felt nothing but air. My arms that were supposed to be on his waist were instead enclosing nothing.

He was gone.

I'm alone.

And it feels so cold.

I felt my knees collapse, making me kneel down the pavement.

"Rei..."

Tears continuously ran down my cheeks as I looked up at the bright blue sky. The world remains ignorant towards this immense pain that was forming in my chest. It hurts so much.

It hurts that I can't be with him. However, despite this feeling of loneliness, I feel relieved and at peace knowing that I was able to express my feelings towards him. He'll always be in my heart no matter what.

"Wow, I like this song. Nice song choice, sir!" I complimented the taxi driver, raising both of my thumbs up.

The driver laughed at my enthusiasm, shaking his head in the process. "It was the radio station's choice, not mine."

I gave a laugh of my own as a response, leaning on the glass window and looking up the sky.

"The skies are crying." I mumbled, pertaining to the dark gray skies that was continuously letting heavy raindrops pour down. I can see the violent wind that was moving just outside the window. Mother Nature must be having her mood swings.

"The weather forecast did say that there will be a typhoon that will strike us soon."

"Really? Good thing my parents managed to get here before that happens." I mumbled to myself.

I'm currently on my way to the hotel my parents were currently staying at. They told me that they want to eat with their daughter since they would soon return to their business trip in Italy or something. However, more something came here in Japan compared to their something in Italy or something. So they came here or something. Can you see how much I something care about their something? Something, something, something.

To be honest, I don't really care. They can just go and continue leaving me here alone with no one to depend on. They've been doing that ever since I can remember.

I rolled my eyes at the thought, my gaze stopping at the wrist watch on my right arm.

And there's this person... Who cared about me so much. He went away a month ago... Who is it... Ah... Rei... Rei Ryugazaki.

He's a character from the anime... What anime is that again?... Ah... It was Free... He swims... And he has OCD. He works really hard and his smile... Is the best.

He went to the mall with me and helped me choose my clothes. He also... Prepares my lunchbox every morning...

Akh. My head aches.

It's like... The memories of him is slowly fading. Whenever I tried to remember them, my head would hurt. I'm afraid that there will be a time that I would completely forget him. With such thought, I started to write everything that I can remember.

I still want to cling to this fragment of hope that I will see him again.

"Look at this weather... " the driver mumbled, making me return to reality.

The view from the windshield was a complete blur, even with the wipers on. The wind and rain were starting to get more and more violent.

"What's that light?" I pointed out, squinting my eyes.

There's this light approaching us fast.

"That's... That's a truck's headlight!" the driver exclaimed, stirring the wheel aggressively.

"Wh-what!?" I panicked.

"It can't see us!"

It happened all so fast.

The taxi started to spin in a spiral direction, probably due the road being slippery. Before I knew it, we were approaching the truck at light speed while it honks violently.

I'm dying. I feel so scared...

Is this what Rei felt? I wish I was there to save him from this feeling.

With that single thought in my head, I closed my eyes and embraced what is to come.

I want to be with him.

"Heeeeeeyyy!  Wake up? " a voice shouted, shaking me violently.

I slowly opened my eyes and stared at the bitch who's ruining my sleep. It was a small girl clad in pure white. She's wearing a white mask with a black mark that says "3".

"What?" I asked in irritation as I stood up. I looked around and found myself in a pure white throne room. I was lying down on the ground. My neck feels so stiff.

"When did the hospital have a throne room? "

"Nah. You're not in the hospital anymore." she answered, offering both her hands.

I took it and stood up.

"Well, your body is still in the hospital but your soul is here in my realm. " she answered nonchalantly with a shrug.

"... Your realm?" I asked, confused. "Soul?  Body? "

"Don't you remember? You got hit by a truck." she turned her back against me,  sitting on the throne found in the middle of the room. She swayed his bare feet back and forth, tilting her head. "Miraculously, your body survived. You can go back to your body whenever you please. Some prefer going back when their body is fully healed though. I don't know about you. " She proceeded to comb her white locks of hair with her pale fingers.

... I did remember that I got hit by a truck but I'm not sure of I should believe her about the soul part... But maybe I should get immune to this. After all, just a month ago I was with...

Who was I with?

...He's my precious... And he gave me something... A wristwatch!

My eyes turned quickly to my right wrist. It's here!

"I...  I need to go to him! " I cried out, pointing at my watch.

She stopped combing her hair then turned to me. A sweet smile then appeared on her face. "You do love him,  don't you? "

"Yes!" I exclaimed with a nod. "I.. I don't remember all the details but I don't want to lose him. I can't...  I keep forgetting who he is. I'm scared that I'll forget him entirely! I need him so much...  He means so much to me." I rambled, clutching on his memento tightly.

I'm so confused and yet, I feel so sure.

She stood up from her seat and inched towards me.

"He also wants to be with you. He chose you over his old life." she said with her sincere smile still on. "Two was so heartless to bring you two together only to separate you afterwards." she took my quivering hands and held them tightly.

Two...? The girl who gave him a hard time...?

"I just can't simply let this one go." she uttered. "I'm a deity who fulfills a suffering person's wish. It is my duty to clean up my sister's mess. I want you two to be together. However, I require one thing from you."

"... You need to remember his name."

His name...?

"He clearly remembers you. He has been waiting for you to fetch him. He never left the realm between the living and the dead in hopes to see you. He can be set free once you remember him."

"Will he come back to me once I remember his name?"

"I'm not supposed to do that...  But yes. I'll be transporting his life in your world." she voiced out. "So, hurry up and remember. What's his name? "

I closed my eyes, concentrating. The person who was always with me.

He has this blue hair that was always perfectly groomed. His eyes are the hue of violet. He wears red framed glasses. He's good looking but once he opens his mouth...

 "I want you to have a part of me. I am well aware that you're pretty forgetful so I want you to think of perfect me whenever you see that. "   

He's narcissistic.

 "No! Alright will never be enough. Things must be perfect." 

He's a perfectionist. 

But despite that...

"... I don't want to lose you, a person who made me see the other side of things. The things I haven't experienced within my 16 years of existence. To search which place is good for dating. To pick clothes for someone. To cook for someone. To tell someone 'Welcome home.' There are so many things I have done for the past five months and I cherish each one of them."

He's sweet.

He's hardworking.

He's caring.

"And I'm one of the protagonists of the show entitled Free. My name is Ryugazaki Rei."  

I finally opened my eyes in which I was met by a small glimmering white butterfly that passed by me.

"Rei. Rei Ryugazaki!" I exclaimed, tears falling down my eyes.

"Good job." the girl's voice echoed against the room's walls as she let go of her grasp on me. 

I like him.

" 'I like you.' "  

And he likes me too.

The entire room started to light up, engulfing me in a white light. Despite the chaos, I felt at peace. At peace since I have remembered everything about the person I cherish.

I felt arms that were suddenly wrapped around my waist as I was pulled by a lean stature.

"Rei...?" I hoped.

"____."

"What did the flower tell her butterfly?"

"What did she tell her butterfly?" he asked, leaning his chin on my shoulder.

" 'I like you too.' " I whispered.

"... You finally got it."

I still couldn't see his face. It didn't matter. As long as I can feel his arms around me.

"I'll be by your side once you wake up."

And then darkness came and enveloped me.

Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep.

Shit. Why is the alarm so loud? It's making me so pissed.

"Shut up." I grumbled, opening my eyes.

It was so bright. Everything around me is white. My body feels shit and heavy. Where the hell am I? I blinked my eyes, trying to cope up with the sudden brightness.

It wasn't my alarm clock beeping. It's this gigantic machine that was resting on my right. Stupid.

Wait.

Wasn't I with Rei? Where's Rei!? Everything that has happened came rushing through my head fast. And now here I am. Trashing around.

"Rei!" I shouted, trying to stand up despite the feeling of pain coursing through my body.

"I'm here." a calm voice said. "You should not move that much. You're injured."

I gulped, blinking away the tears that were slowly forming on my eyes. I slowly looked at my side and saw him. He was looking at me with his gentle eyes and beautiful perfect smile.

"You're here..." I repeated, my lower lip quivering.

I'm going to cry. I can feel it.

"Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeiiiiiiiii!" I voiced out, all my relief and happiness pouring out my eyes... and nose. "You're here!"

He laughed at my reaction, taking a handkerchief out of his pocket and wiping the snot and tears off my face.

"And I will never leave again." he gently said while parting my hair to the side. "Must... Look... Perfect."

He really is Rei. He's here.

"Rei... I missed you." I said. "It has been a month and I keep forgetting you! It was so hard! I don't know how I will continue living my life the way I used to!" I bawled out.

"I've been waiting longer, ____." he replied, putting the handkerchief beside my pillow and taking my hand against his. "I've waited a month for you to reach Three's realm. After us meeting briefly in the realm, I had to wait another two months. I'm not really fond of waiting." he gritted his teeth, as if remembering a horrid memory.

"Two months?"

"You were in comatose for two months, ____." he calmly said, adjusting his eyeglasses. "I was scared that you wouldn't wake up."

"You don't look really scared awhile ago nor surprised that I'm awake."

Rei is a great drama queen. I wonder what happened for the past two months.

"I prepared a speech for this moment. However, I need to do something first."

I tilted my head to the side.

"What's it?"

"This." He quickly moved his head forward, making our lips touch each other.

Oh well. Questions can come later. I closed my eyes, indulging his sweet breath against mine. We gently moved our lips in sync, our hands clasping together more tightly.

I do hope that no one would disturb us.

"Rei-chan, we brought flowers--!"
