(Eren's POV)

The day after I left Mikasa's house, she called me. I knew there was something on her mind because I know her by now. More than she knows herself, one might argue.

"Eren. Yea... I don't know what to say... so I'll just say it like it is. Eren, I feel ashamed of what we did. Even if you had your girl's consent... that could be considered..."

"Cheating. Yea I know." I replied. "But she knows. And she wanted me to do this. Otherwise I wouldn't. Mikasa, you know me. I'm not that kind of person."

"It's more about me than about you, Eren." She stated.

"Yea?"

"Yes. I took you away from your girl because I'm a whiny little brat who just wants everything for herself. I... I don't know what to say. I just... I hate to be rude but I need some time away from you."

My mind was blown. Mikasa Ackerman. The samurai of... something. Wanted to take some time away from me?! ME?! But another part of me understands where she's coming from and wants to let her do what she think is best.

"I... Maybe you're right. But that doesn't mean you and I will have to move as far away from each other and never see one another again!"

"Of course not! But I want some time... And Eren, thank you. For everything."

"You're welcome, Mikasa. Anything for you, friend, or whatever it is that's between us." I replied.

"That's why we need time. To figure out what we are and what we should be. Okay. Talk to you later, Eren."

Mikasa then hung up and I continued staring at the sky from my roof. I placed my headphones on and started listening to some music while aimlessly staring at the blue slightly cloudy sky.

Mikasa, me sleeping with her, doing the bizz, it made me see her in a different light. Why didn't I want to be with her? To me being in a relationship with a childhood friend was weird. I didn't want to be with her because, to me, it would feel awkward and on the other hand, it would feel pretty easy and pathetic. I like to meet girls in the world and get to know them. Being in a relationship with someone I knew for a long time and didn't ask them out earlier, it, for me, feels weird. And Mikasa, she's practically family at this point.

I'm glad that Mikasa is finally trying to set her priorities straight. I just am intrigued as to what she would do with her time away.
As for me, I need to try and thwart Jean's plans. He's planning something dangerous, or something that would benefit him in the expense of others, but the point is. He shouldn't be allowed to move forward with his plans. If he does, Mikasa, Annie and I would be in danger.

Then the idea came to me. I needed to check on Annie. She hasn't called or texted in a while. Well, one could assume it's because I didn't text her, but then that thought would be proven wrong by the fact that she texts me first when I don't text her.

I made my way off the roof and towards my bike. Then I took off to Annie's place. When I arrived I saw that the entire place was... silent.
Then again Annie always stays in her room and doesn't leave unless she wants to eat or anything.

I had enough of sneaking through houses for one week so I just walked to the door and sounded the doorbell. I waited, for a minute, and then the door, opened, to my surprise.

What I saw waiting for me behind the door made my heart break. It was Annie. And she was crying, a lot. She was silent about it but she was.

"What's wrong?!" I exclaimed.

"Come in..."

I entered the door and closed it behind me. Then I walked towards the couch where Annie sat and I sat next to her.

"If anyone did anything to you I swear..." I stated.

"It's Jean... he didn't do anything yet, but what he's planning to do..."

"What?" I asked.

"He wants to expose us!"

My spine froze in fear. My hands started shaking and I couldn't stop overthinking every scenario.
He knows...
Jean... Knows...

"How..." I asked with my voice down.

"I don't know... bu he called me and said..."

"What did he say?!"

"The second I found out you and Eren are in a relationship, the gears were set in motion. It's only a matter of time, before everyone knows. Then it would destroy the very foundation of this entire ordeal." Annie said, quoting Jean.

"He wants war..." I stated.

"He does. Annie replied while hugging me tightly."

"Then I'll give him war."

I got off the couch and pulled out my phone. I got to the contacts list and made a call, contacting Armin.

"Hey bro. Annie and I, Well our relationship, is in danger. Jean knows. I need you to go spy on him and get me anything he wants to keep secret."

"You got it." Armin replied instantly with no hesitation.

Then I called someone else on the force, the Eren Force.

"Noctis? Yea hey. So Jean Kirstein, you know of him, he wants to destroy Annie and I's relationship. I need your help."

"I'm on it." Noctis replied.

Then I started to contact multiple people, all of whom agreed.

"Petra? Hi, it's been a long time. I need your help."

"Thomas, buddy. Yea hey, I need you to repay my favor, ok?"

"Yea, hey Carolina. You owe me a favor."

And last but not least, the man that I can count on with anything, the one who will get the job done no matter the circumstances, the one and only:

"Levi?"
