(Annie's POV)

I never expected myself to be with someone while already dating. I took caution to the maximum knowing that I cannot trust this guy or my dad.

With that said, I felt safe knowing I have Jad on the earpiece. Otherwise I would've probably been caught.

But then I realized without Jad I wouldn't probably be here in the first place. But I would be sitting in my house, counting the days of my life knowing I cannot live like a normal human being.

"Annie. Annie are you okay?" Jad called out on the earpiece.

"I'm fine."

"Go out with this guy and then go back to the mission. You know where the box is, yeah?"

"A bookshelf. A secret vault." I replied.

"Alright. Any safe combination?"

"No. But it was well hidden so I don't believe that it was needed." I replied.

"Your dad's an idiot."

"Tell me about that."

Suddenly I saw Adrian step through the door.

"Hey. Ready?" He said.

"Yes." I got off the couch I was sitting on and went with Adrian. When I got out of the house first my eyes spotted a G-Wagen.

"Cool huh?" Adrian asked as he closed the door behind him.

"Wow." Was all I managed to say.

"Come on." He said, wrapping his hand over my shoulder and walking me to the side. He then opened the door for me and took my hand up the vehicle.

For a fuckboy he sure is a gentleman. Or is it just an act? There is no chance of knowing other than to play his game. But I shouldn't be doing that considering I might go too deep into this rabbit hole.

"Hey. So quick question. Do you prefer Chinese or..."

"Anything." I answered. "It doesn't matter."

After a long drive we arrived at a fancy sushi restaurant. From the look of it, it was a restaurant of someone who is really wealthy and really passionate about his sushi business. When we went inside my thoughts were confirmed. But I was surprised still. Seeing the inside was mind blowing. It was way more beautiful than the outside. It has a Ukrainian-Japanese style to it. It was filled to the brim with customers.

We sat down and ordered. And as we waited, Adrian tried getting me into a conversation. I didn't refuse him out of politeness.

"So why do you really wanna come to see your dad, really?" Adrian asked me. I have already thought of answers for questions like this as I was preparing for this mission.

"I got too annoyed with the world."

"Oh yeah? Well I too feel the same. This world is getting so unbearable. I could not tell you how much I despise it. People look at me and see nothing but a fuckboy. I could not be a decent human being in their eyes. Shit like this still occur when I'm with your father."

"Is that why you joined my father?"

"Not really. But you can say it is one of the reasons. Though not as important as the main reason. But back to you for a sec. Mr. Leonhart told me you're a titan shifter".

Hearing him say that I felt that I was going to puke. But then again he's not wrong.

"Yes... yes I am."

"Why would be do such thing to you?" Adrian asked, showing sympathy. I looked at him, intrigued that he'd say such thing.

"Well the person you're working for isn't that good of a person, I'm afraid." I replied.

"Maybe. It's just a hard pill to swallow. My mentor and boss, someone that I have trusted for years would do such thing to someone as young and innocent... and pretty as you?" I glanced at him for a second and then back at the food as it finally arrived.

The food itself was delicious. It took my mind off for a while about why I'm here and put me at ease. For me it was a break from this harsh reality. But then when I heard Adrian talk my mind was soon filled with the urge to get out of this country as fast as possible.

I started to plan in my head all the ways to escape with the serum box before it'd be too late. One of my plans involved sneaking up at night and grabbing it. Another involved going in there guns blazing as soon as I returned from this 'date'.

"Your dad isn't a bad person." Adrian said. I looked at him with a glare while my head was down, consuming the sushi. "He just... has this mission he wants to accomplish. He wants to rid the world of its strongest weapons."

"And then what?" I asked.

"I don't know... maybe just sit somewhere peaceful and quite and gaze at the distant sunset of a grateful planet." Adrian continued.

"And you want to help him?"

"I owe him a debt." Adrian disclosed.

"Let me guess. For freeing you of your old pitiful life?" I asked.

"Yes. And maybe when I accomplish my task I can get back home and rebuild my life. Get a proper home. A job, even." Adrian explained as he gazed away and at the ceiling, mind wandering off into his imagination.

"And what would you say is great about this?" I asked. Gritting my teeth. "He turned me into a monster."

"Did he?" Adrian asked. I wanted to jump on him and stroke the life out of him. "You don't look like a monster. And you are beautiful on the inside and out. I can see it."

I didn't answer and just continued eating my food.

"What's great about this, you say? Well for starters I get to go places. See things. Meet people. I get to wear the best clothes. Sleep in the best places and know that one day my life will be stable. And I can live happy. But do you know what's the best thing out of all of this?"

"What?" I asked.

"Meeting you."

I looked at him and back at my food.

To me he is a misguided person, not knowing he's being used. It was obvious his feelings to me were genuine and what he is doing was out of desperation to find a better life.

He is hitting the right notes and I started to like him more and more as the night went on. But I know my heart belongs to one person. And that is Eren and Eren alone.

Finally after a long date we returned to my father's house. Adrian got out first and opened the door for me like a nice gentleman.

"So where will you be staying?" I asked with genuine curiosity.

"Right here. I am your dad's sidekick after all. I have my own room here. And I got a message from the maid here saying she prepared you a room."

"Oh. Nice to hear that." I stated.

"What? Happy I'm gonna stay with you?" He asked.

"What? No, not that, silly!"

"What then?" He asked after chuckling.

"It's... nothing."

I was starting to fall for him slowly and slowly and I did feel really happy that he's staying with us. But deep down I knew I couldn't stay here for long, and our time has to be cut short by my own hand.

"Alright. You'll tell me soon, I just know it."

We entered the house. I looked at my phone and was shocked when I realized it was 1:15 AM. I had so much fun that time flew by quickly.

Since my attention was solely on my phone, I tripped on a table. But before I can call Adrian grabbed me and lifted me bridal style.

"Oops. You gotta watch out there." Adrian said. "Let me take you to your room."

"Like this?" I asked.

"Like this."

After many failed attempts at trying to get him to get me down we finally arrived at my room. He closed the door with his foot and set me on the bed and started tickling me.

"I'm not letting you trip again! Haha! You got it?"

I couldn't stop myself from laughing until he stopped and our eyes met. Suddenly my chest was overwhelmed with a sense of warmth and happiness. The kind that I felt when being with Eren.

"Annie." Adrian said.

"Yes?" I asked.

"Can I?" He asked.

My mind paused for a second. I wanted Adrian so bad at that moment. I really wanted him but I knew my heart, as much as he loved this moment, deeply wanted Eren. But then my mind quickly thought of Eren and the time I let him be with his other girl and thought to myself.

'Eren owes me this. But still I will not tell him. Well I guess we could say we're even.'

"Take me."

WOW! That was... something else! My mind is blown! Well not really, I wrote this BS. But imagine my In-Story self listening to Annie moan and moan. It's just... a nightmare! Anyways, see you guys later! And as always. Keep On Reading!
