Mom tells me to hurry over to Professor Elm's lab to see all the Pokémon first, so I can see all the good Pokémon. I put on high waist shorts with a red top and then put on my necklace. I slide my feet into sneakers, giving my Mom a hug and running out the door almost forgetting my backpack. I turn around and wave goodbye saying " I'll miss you! " then running towards the lab.

While I'm running I trip over a stone and fall. A boy helps me up saying "Are you okay? " sounding worried "Yeah, I'm okay." I say breathlessly "good, my name is Andrew what is yours?" "Julie, and by the way are you going to the lab to get a Pokémon? " Yep, we should hurry so all the Pokémon aren't taken." We then run on a trail that leads to the lab.

"We're here!" I say excited. (and breathless ) Andrew says "Let's go inside! We run inside almost bumping into Proffessor Elm! "Ah, you must be Julie and Andrew. Welcome, I'm guessing you kids came here for a Pokémon?" The professor says "Yes" we say in unison.

"Ok,you get to pick one Pokémon. A fire, water, or grass type." Says Professor Elm. I think for a moment so I can decide what Pokémon I want. "I want a fire type." I say says "Ok, then I want a water type." Andrew instantly says.
"Great! Now that you've picked your Pokémon you can get a Pokédex." Professor Elm explains what a Pokédex is and what it does. "Ohhhh! I get it now. When you catch a Pokémon it collects the data of it, but when you battle a Pokémon and it faints or if it a trainer or gym battle it only get the name and picture." Andrew proudly says "Yes Andrew, that's exactly what the Pokédex does!"Well ima gonna get back to my studies! Come back and visit again soon!" Professor Elm said and took out his pen and paper and left the room.
