CH. 28 (Emmett)

Since I don't sleep my days and nights run together, but now that my wife is fixing to have surgery to have our sons taken out. Well, my days and nights are limited.

Don't get me wrong, I love my wife and I'm so grateful that she's giving me sons.

But after hearing her cry over the daughter she will never have nearly broke my already dead heart.

I wish I could give her a daughter, I wish we could keep trying until she has her daughter.

But with a vampire as a husband, she only gets one shot.

And unfortunately she is getting two sons.

Sure she will love our boys with her whole heart, they will mean the world to both her and I, but knowing that I can't give my wife something that she wants, well it hurts.

I started thinking about a cute little red headed girl, Katrina Elise, the daughter I would never have.

I put a hand on my wife's growing belly and kissed her soft cheek, I silently thanked God for this gift.

I stepped back and looked at my wife's beautiful sleeping face.

"I wish I could give you the world my love." I said knowing fully well she couldn't hear me.

"It sucks when we can't give them what they want." Edward said walking into the room.

"Yeah." I agreed.

"May I ask what it is Elle wants?" He asked.

I sighed, "a daughter."

It's times like these I wish I could cry, I wouldn't even care of I looked like a pansy, I bet it would feel good to just cry it out and get over it.

"I'm sorry." Edward said, realizing the impossibility of my situation.

"It's fine, just something we will have to overcome." I said.

"I'm Also sorry for being mad at you," Edward confessed. "I was mad at you for allowing your wife to risk her body by getting pregnant. I don't know, it's just when I found out she was pregnant it took me back to when Bella was pregnant and I started thinking of all the bad things. All of the broken bones, how Nessie was literally sucking Bella's life away, and then the horrible delivery, I almost lost both of them that night, but by some miracle I managed to save both of them."

He paused and then continued. "I see now that since Carlisle knows a bit more what to expect this time around, Elle has been in good health, her number of pregnancy related injuries is far less than Bella's and you guys have an actual birth plan. I hope this works out with no bumps at all."

"Me too brother." I said.

"I can't wait to meet my nephews." He said smiling at me.

"We're giving them yours and Jasper's names as their middle names." I confessed.

Edward beamed with happiness and then we hugged.

"Forgive me if I favor one over the other." He said jokingly.

"Yeah yeah, don't get too big of an ego over it. We can always change our minds." I said laughing as his face fell.

"Elle wouldn't let you." He said.

I nodded "that's true, she's already got her mind set on those names." I confessed.

Edward left the room and I sat with my wife until she woke.

As the days went by Carlisle had filled me in on the step by step of the procedure.

"So I have to bite it?" I questioned as he explained how we would get the babies out.

"Yes son, you will have to bite the Sack open and from there I along with Edward will remove the babies And once everything is out of your wife, you will lick her cut closed and then you will bite her releasing your venom and begin the turning process." Carlisle said calmly.

I took In his words and agreed.

I knew it had to be done so it was either going to be me or him doing it and personally I preferred if I was the only one biting and licking my wife.

That night I went out and had another hunting session, when I got back Red and I took a nice long bath and then we went back into the medical room.

"I love you." I said.

She smiled up at me and touched my face. "I love you." She said back.

"Just a few more hours and we will be parents." I said lovingly.

She smiled brightly. "I can't wait."

She fell asleep soon after.

I was starting to get antsy with nerves, everything that could go Wrong was flashing through my head, Edward rushed upstairs to try and calm me down, then jasper came up to do the same.

Finally Carlisle came in and assured me everything would be fine and I allowed myself to stop worrying so much.

I held Red's hand and kept looking up at the clock.

Carlisle walked in 7hours later, "it's time." He said.

I looked at the clock and saw it was already 6am.

Edward walked in behind him. "Jasper, Jake, and Renesme are over at your new house away from the temptation of fresh blood. It's was a full moon last night so the wolves are tied up. And Alice, Bella, Kate, Esme, and Tanya are all downstairs."

I nodded, I was blank. Elle nodded as well, she looked a little scared so I grabbed her hand.

Carlisle injected Elle's back with something that would numb her body and she wouldn't feel any pain during the surgery.

"This is a General anesthesia, it will render you unconscious but it will also numb you from the abdomen down, I will be placing this endotracheal tube down your throat to breath." Carlisle said.

Red was super groggy but she nodded.

"Lay her back," Carlisle instructed, so I laid her body back. As soon as her head touched the pillow she was asleep.

"I love you." I whispered to her and kissed her lips.

I stepped back and Carlisle slid the tube down her throat.

"As Elle asked, we have set up a camera so she can see everything she is missing while unconscious." Carlisle said. "Edward please press record."

Edward walked over and to both sides of the room an turned on two different cameras.

"I will now begin the surgery." Carlisle said out loud.

He took a scalpel and made an incision, blood started pouring out but Edward was there cleaning it up with gauze.

"Emmett, it time to open the sack." He said.

I nodded then slowly walked over to my wife's laying form.

I was so scared but I knew I had to do this.

"Just slide your teeth along the sack until you can feel or hear a tear opening." Carlisle instructed.

Edward had carted over a little cribs with wheels.

There were towels hanging off of the sides.

I took a deep breath and followed Carlisle's instructions.

As soon as I heard the sound of metal being torn I pulled away.

"Excellent job son." He said sticking his hands into the opening I had created. "Edward here comes the first one." I walked over to the crib and grabbed a towel And Carlisle placed a bloody crying baby into my covered hands.

I looked into the sweet face of my first born son.

I cleaned him off then wrapped him in one of the blankets Edward had in the crib.

"Here comes the other one." Carlisle said "ok, well he seems to be stuck on something. Edward light please." Edward made his way over and turned on the light that was above Red's bed.

I kissed my sons chubby cheek and and placed him in the crib.

"Holy smokes!" Carlisle said.

He worked quickly but his words sent me into a panic.

Edward held his toweled hands out and Carlisle passed him my other son.

He cleaned him but before he could wrap him in the spare little blanket Carlisle pulled out another baby.

"It's triplets." Carlisle said

"Two boys and one girl."

I held my hands out to my daughter, Edward handed me a towel and I cleaned her off.

"Hello Katrina Elise" I said overjoyed as I kissed her smooth round cheek. "You don't know how happy daddy is to see you, little beauty."

"Edward, you will have to hold Katrina while Emmett changes Elle, the boys are venomous and they could accidentally turn her, giving us an immortal child." Carlisle said.

His words struck pure fear into my heart.

I could tell Edward felt the same way.

He held his arms out for my daughter, and then I walked over to Red.

I licked her cut to seal it and then Carlisle removed her breathing tube. I quickly leaned down and kissed her neck right before I bit into it.

I let my venom pool into her and then I removed my mouth. I licked my bite to seal it and then kissed it gently.

"Now we wait." Carlisle said.

I covered her body up with a blanket and then the family started coming up to see the babies.

"Oh Emmett, three, you've given me three new grand-babies!" Esme cried out ecstatically.

"What are there names?" Bella asked.

"This guy," I said picking up my first born son,"is Killian Edward McCarty Cullen." I said handing him to her.

She smiled and snuggled her face into his cheek.

"And this handsome fellow is Kellan Jasper McCarty Cullen." I said kissing my son and handing him to Esme.

Then I walked over to Edward and he handed me my daughter.

"And this striking little beauty, is Katrina Elise McCarty Cullen."

Kate and Alice hugged and squealed as they recognized their names.

"Oh goodness, I have to buy girl stuff. Come on Kate." She said as she dragged Kate out of the house.

"She does know its still the early morning right?" I asked worried about my sisters sanity.

Everyone chuckled.
